Our floors look new again! All the wear from years of dogs & kids is gone. Work was started on time & completed on time. Overall process took three days as promised. Upon completion there was very little dust to be found.

We interviewed a few companies about having this work done to our floors. After a verbal agreement with another company fell through, we had to scramble to find someone else. We received information on Family Hardwood from a local carpet company. In all the homes we?ve owned and all the improvements we?ve made, this would be the largest by scale and most disruptive. The red oak floors cover most of the main level of our home, it was important this be done right. We were apprehensive and concerned about hiring someone without seeing a project they had completed. The reviews on Angie?s List gave us reassurance. The crew arrived on time Monday morning and helped us move a few of the larger pieces of furniture we couldn?t get by ourselves. They started sanding and working immediately. Christine mixed some stain for our approval and we were off. Seeing how the team carefully and skillfully started the day put us at ease, we felt this responsibility was in the right hands. We stayed at a hotel nearby while this major task was completed. We met Mike and Kendrick every morning at the house to review the previous day?s work and the current schedule. Day two would be final sanding and then stain would be applied. That afternoon we got a call from Mike, he wasn?t sure that the color was the exact shade we were trying to attain. When he saw it on a larger section of the floor, he thought we should come look again. He was right. Christine returned, mixed more stain and perfection was achieved. We?re so pleased they put in the extra effort to assure we were happy with the color. Friday morning the final polyurethane was applied and the floors were completed. We weren?t able to walk on the floors until Saturday morning to thoroughly inspect the job. Once we did, we were very happy. The attention to detail is amazing, even the cuts and joints on the shoe molding are exact. The company did amazing work and was respectful to our home and property. We couldn?t be more thrilled.

Everything went very well. They were on time, did an excellent job, at a reasonable cost. They exceeded our expectations.

Materials delivered on time. Work started 1 day late. This was understandable since I expect they wanted to make sure the prior job was completed. Cleaned up. Nice neat job.

they were very professional and were able to complete the job in about 3-4 days. It did not disrupt living too much as they put up plastic to limit the dust and cleaned up completely when they were done with the job. they truly treated our home like theirs and took good care of it. The floors look amazing.

the installation is pretty good in 80% of the area, is ok in 15%, and really annoying in 5% of the area. There is apparent variation in quality between room to room. a better quality control is needed.

We were very impressed with the professionalism, from every piece of communication to a job well done. We will definitely recommend this business and use them again, if needed.

We were obviously a bit nervous since we just had our floors refinished not even 6 months previously. Christine was professional and patient. She answered our questions and reassured us. She maintained a good balance between giving us space to think and reminding us she was still there wanting our business. Once we finally were ready, it did not take long to get us on their schedule. They came out on the morning we were expecting them and began work right away. They put in a long day and got the floors sanded, stained and the first coat of poly down. They worked every day and got the job done on time, but most importantly they did QUALITY work! The stain is even, there are no puddles, buff marks, drips or missed areas. They even fixed a couple of spots on the railing left behind from the previous botched job!! VERY PLEASED! I would highly recommend Family Hardwood!!

Chris met me at the house on Saturday 4/12/14. He looked at the floors and explained in detail what he proposed to do and gave me pricing. I explained to him what my budget was, but my wants were of course bigger than my budget. I showed him additional service I wanted and we agreed upon a good price. The work was done and the floors look great. Chris is knowledgeable and curteous. I have had several friends stop by to view the finished results and all are impressed. I would recommend this company for thier expertise and pricing.

They were quick to respond, professional, I trusted them in my home, and I have been very satisfied.

Process of working with them was fine - they were responsive, got us a quote quickly. But there were a couple of scheduling problems and they started a day and a half later than they said they would. They had to rush to get done in time for us to move in, and as a result the quality of the floor finish was less than desirable.
