I wanted to save someone from making a poor decision when choosing a painting company. We picked this company because of the awesome promotion he offered to have a free pressure wash included every year. He did not tell us what hoops we would have to jump through to get that pressure wash, which includes practically begging him. You will send the form that he will claim to not have gotten. You will resend and then finally screenshot it and send it by text. Then he will say someone will contact you, but it will take weeks of back and forth before you finally get your pressure wash. This year is the same shenanigans from Jack. He didn’t get our form 3 times. His pressure wash guy will contact us and never does and now this year he refers me to his website where he says service may be terminated by the homeowner or Falls River Painting without cause. Oh, how convenient he can offer a promotion when you already paid him and he can terminate it whenever he wants. Also, when he changes a promotion for new customers, he informed me it also changes my promotion, what!?! He will also tell you he wants to meet with you and then never show up. What is sad is that he had good painters, but the owner, Jack, is a horrible communicator. We understand that there are people that don’t do the right thing, and this is a good example of that. Fortunately, there are more people that do the right thing. I do not recommend Falls River Painting. We did everything right, but the bottom line is Jack doesn’t want to pay for our house to be pressure washed. He already got our money, so what is the incentive? The incentive should be to do the right thing and when you do the right thing people recommend you. I can’t recommend Falls River Painting unfortunately.

This review is my opinion. This is one of those reviews that I held off writing 5 years ago. We also had some difficulties with him on the exterior paint job. One of the first things that Jack tells you when he comes out is 'He is the best' and 'we don't paint over rot'. That is the first clue that this won't be a cheap paint job. With that said, his work on other homes was really good. He walked around the house noting all the damage, and came back with a quote somewhere in the mid $3000 range for a 2000 square foot home. I thought this was a good price given his work. I asked if I could repair some of the necessary stuff ahead of the paint job and save some money. I believe the estimate on repairs was around $1200, and mainly consisted of rotten masonite and rotten trim. I completed around 80% of the noted repairs (the stuff I could not do was very high up). His crew came out and knocked out the paint job. Jack showed up to collect on the job, and said the job ended up being over $5k,. Seriously. So we started with an estimate of ~$3500, I did 80% of the initial spec'd ~$1200 in repairs, which should have dropped the job down to around $2500, yet somehow he missed an additional $2500 in repairs. In my opinion, he is either incompetant at estimating or not a good business. He did agree to discount the price around $500 due to his bad initial estimate. There are a lot of painters out there that can do a similar job, for less, and stay on estimate. You should also be weary of his claims of 10 years of free power washing. Read the fine print on his website. In the end, the job was high quality, but far off the estimate.

E-mail communications were frustrating. Responsiveness was an issue, but worse was getting an estimate scheduled. We engaged Jack from Falls River in early February. Did not get an estimate until the beginning of June. Since then, we have been strung along via e-mail trying to get the work scheduled. Save yourself the headache and find someone else.
Description of Work: We contacted Falls River to have our front door stained, paint re-done around the door, and an interior door repainted.

He told us he could give us a list of 3,000 references for us to check out finished products. He got back to us immediately. He also offered us 10 years of free power washing if we'd select him.
Description of Work: He gave us an estimate on exterior painting and we're considering using him for interior painting.

Description of Work: After receiving multiple estimates, we had Falls River Painting paint the exterior of our entire home after having a new 2nd story porch built. The project went perfectly and we couldn't be happier with the work that was done and the annual power washing performed every year as part of the price. We will definitely use Falls River again and we recommend them to all of our friends and neighbors.

The exterior paint on our home was put on in 2005. We could have milked another year or two out of it, but it was starting to chalk up a bit and the seams in the hardi-plank were devoid of caulk for the most part. I got 8 quotes. Jack was not the cheapest. However, he provided the best value for the money by a mile. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the quality of the work. He used Emerald from Sherman Williams and lemme tell you, it is worth the extra money to get top quality paint. I was expecting at least something small to be irritating or annoying and I honestly am just 100% pleased with the finished product. Here is why I chose Falls River Painting: - 7 man crew - not the three man crew everyone else seemed to quote. - 3 day job - not the 5-10 days the other quotes ranged - Price was competitive but not lowest bid. - Lower bid painters did some work on my block and you can see clearly the vertical lines from the spray job...not good. (Jack and his crew left no vertical lines...his spray man is amazing and the crew kept three ladders moving for him to step from one to another and paint the house horizontally like you are supposed to. The result shows the extra effort.) - 10 year workmanship and materials warranty. Best warranty from anyone else was three years - 10 years of once a year whole home power washing included in price. Nice. - Jack is an honest and direct guy who was great to deal with. Some unexpected bonuses from the experience: - Jack was here every day multiple times to check on his crew. - His crew DID NOT mess around. No talking on their cell phones...no standing around and talking...No smoke breaks. They took their lunch together every day and used that time to eat and socialize and then they were back to work and all business. - Jack included a trim color change in the price which other painters wanted to charge way more to do. Now my house pops and is by far the best looking paint job. - no surprises.

Overall quality of work was reasonably good. However COMMUNICATION is seriously lacking. Owner is very slow to respond to calls. The last day, he rushed his workers entirely too much to finish, because he needed them somewhere else. Obviously he should have planned 4 days for my job, instead of the 3 that he did. He promised to come pick up several items for his church we had intended to donate anyway. After paying, we haven't heard from him or seen him. Also, owner does no work himself. Good or bad? I can't really say. Just know that he will show up only 1 time each day, and only for about 20 min each time.
Description of Work: Interior walls...repair and painting. Ceilings....repaint. Minor small interior repairs.
