Express Yourself Paint

I was very pleased overall however I did not like how the popcorn ceiling in the bathroom looked after the popcorn separated when trying to paint it. I know popcorn ceilings are tough though and may not have been the technicians fought. Also was more pleased with the first 2 painters who came out the first time than the one who did the bathroom wallpaper removal. Their were a few areas where the sheetrock had dents and even after being painted

The two painteres arrived on time and set to work quickly. They were curteous and pleasant. I have 3 young kids at home and they were friendly and took precautions with the kids. They did a very nice job. The clean up was quick and they put everything back in its place when they finished.

I am more than pleased with this contractor and they will be my painting contractor of choice going forward.

After accepting an Angie's List special, took about three weeks for the company to get back to me. Dave (?) the owner was apologetic for the delay and professional in his manner, but asked if I would be ok to have a subcontractor come out to do the work. The sub was someone who worked for him in the recent past, and as my job was simple and it would expedite things, I agreed. The sub was competent and finished the job in the alloted time. He did, however, neglect to finish a repar that he started until I pointed out his oversight on my walkthrough. He apologized, got his gear out and finished the repair, but asked if I could put a coat of paint on it as it would be 45 minutes or so for the spackle to dry and he had a family commitment to get to. As we were already over the 3 hours I paid for and I didn't mind doing such a minor thing, I agreed. I can say I'm glad he didn't try to charge me for any time over the 3 hours, nor did he seem in a rush, other than wanting to get to his family event. All in all, it wasn't a great experience that wowed me, but I would certainly be willing to call them for a quote if I needed service in the future.

Found this company through The Big Deal on Angie's list and had David come out for an estimate. He was very professional and measured each room, pointed out damaged areas that would need to be addressed, and discussed options to match the paint colors I had picked out. The crew came out a couple of weeks later and started up. They spent most of the first day patching and sanding - I didn't realize how many dings and scrapes my walls had accumulated! They were very good about calling me in to ask about any questionable areas (like whether or not nail holes needed to be patched or would be re-used for pictures). It took more coats than anticipated to cover two of the rooms (one was the former nursery and had a painted border that needed to be sanded off) and they checked with me and gave me a price before starting. Overall I was very pleased with the quality of the work and would recommend them to anyone.

Express Yourself Paint is a rip-off. The owner estimated that a certain area could be painted for my 16 hours of prepaid and he gave me a estimate for outside trim and other rooms at a discount rate of $30 an hour. Turns our the two painters finished the prepaid area in half the time. He projected the outside house trim would take 81 hours it took 27 and the remainder of the inside painting was about half of his estimate. When confronted David Roberts said that he would give me an additional $120 off for the Angie's list prepaid work. Looking back I should have gotten more estimates but I trusted that a company highly rated with a Super Service Award would not take advantage of customers. That is why I chose an Angie's listed service. Quality wise the interior painter did a good job with just small messes to clean up. Exterior guys left a paint scraping and damaged one of my scrubs by covering it in plastic and leaving it for the sun to burn it's top.

the two painters (Chris and Brandon) did a great job...very professional, very neat. They did a beautiful job and finished ahead of the scheduled end time. I would definitely use them again!

Called and was scheduled a free estimate the next day. They came out and we went over the scope of work. Since I purchased a deal for two painters for a day, they made suggestions on what other works the painters can do if there's still time left. We agreed on the work scope and David emailed me a very detailed written estimate, which also includes paint suggestions, and the prep work I need to do beforehand. The work was scheduled for the week afterward. I picked up paints from SW with contract discount (very nice) and prepared the room by removing wall hanging, unplugging all electronics and gathering furniture in the middle of the room. The workers will also move furniture, but I think I'd rather having them spending time on painting. The two workers showed up promptly, and started work immediately. They covered the floor and furniture, worked diligently and took a short lunch break before returning to work again. I was worried that they might not be able to finish all the work, but they hurried up and barely completed just in time. They asked me to check the work and made sure I was satisfied. They cleaned the workspace and left. The whole experience was very positive. Both the owners and the workers were friendly and easy to work with. My stair well is two stories high, and they painted it flawlessly. I will use them again in the future.

They were nice guys who protected my floors, did a great job painting and cleaned up after themselves. Would definitely recommend them.

David (owner) , Rafael, Mike painted the garage. They were on time and did a great job w/ the garage painting. In lieu of remnant paint, David purchased paint to match the color we had used elsewhere in the house on a separate job that was done. That was very much appreciated. We did a color change from what was in the garage so for the walls I asked for a 2nd coat to get full cover coverage. I paid a little more for the overall job, which made to overall finished product look very good. Along w/ a tip. I showed my appreciation to the team by providing pizza for lunch and also cooked dinner for Mike/Rafael. They worked hard and did a great job.

Jason performed the work for both of the days. He did a great job and showed great skill in his trade.He was on time and worked very hard throughout the whole time and provided a great finished product.

I called Express Yourself Paint to perform interior painting on a property. I initially communicated by e-mail to confirm the appointment. At the first try, I had to travel and a friend was supposed to be there but we had a disconnect in communication and the work was not done. The owner, David, kept up with me and we rescheduled. He was very professional and we worked on another schedule.. At the second go-around, I planned to be in town so I called David so we can talk on the phone. We confirmed the next visit, he gave me feedback on what I should get. Our appointment was the following Thursday, 8/9 at 8:30 but no one showed up. I later called David, and it so happened he was booked and ran over. He was supportive of me the first time, I was understanding and supportive as it had been raining a lot so a lot of contractors were behind on their work but he promised that someone would be there the next day - Friday 8/10 @ 8:30. The next day, I got there about 8:20 and both painters (Mike and Tim) were there. They were really nice and professional and wasted no time starting. Midway through, Mike informed and showed me that the paint I purchased was not a good time..he gave me some recommendations. So I went out and bought some more paint. It took me .30 minutes so they broke for lunch while I went to get the paint. Upon my return, they started right away as they had to start all over -- cutting in the corners, and repainting all the rooms again. They were ending at 4:30 -- a full 8 hour day so I was concerned that they might not finish as this is a 2 floor duples. By 4:30, they were almost done except for some areas in the kitchn, dining room, and laundry that was left...they were going to return the next day to finish. I made sure I kept up with David to keep him informed of what happened during the day. I got there a little after 9 a.m. on Saturday and they were almost done with the remaining painting. By 10:00, Tim left after he was done painting but Mike stayed behind to take everything with him. I had a hole iin the ceiling that needed to be closed. After talking to David, he advised Mike to close the hole and he did. Mike didn't have to do that but he did. Mike gave me a tour of the interior for my review and to address any concerns I may have. I had none. I know what to expect so I was very impressed with their work. It was very clean and nicely done. After every thing was done, Mike cleaned up to leave and I was also impressed that he left the living room floor much cleaner than he met it. Overall, what I can say about Express Yourself Paint, specifically, David - the owner, is that he is very professional and supportive of his customers and potential customers. Mike and Tim, my painters were really nice, very communicative and kept me informed, did a fantastic job. I certainly recommend them for the future and will use them again.

I've never used professional painters before so I don't feel like I can rate above a B since I don't have any comparisons. I first emailed a couple of times and never heard back so I finally called. David came out and gave me a quote for the services I wanted done. He was nice and emailed me the quote shortly after we met. He did say in the email that they would send references and insurance statements in another email and I never received those. There was also a list of the numbers of gallons of paint I needed to get (I opted to purchase myself). It turns out it was way more paint than I needed and had many gallons left over. Thankfully we were able to use most of the paint in other rooms but we still have 2 gallons unopened. As far as the painters, they arrived on time, were very friendly and professional and did the jobs well. The ceiling wasn't included so I had to do that myself. As a novice to professional painting, I wish I had been told that the ceiling wasn't included and given the option for it. The painters were there all day and we were in and out all day but they seemed to be working hard every time we were there and gave us helpful suggestions on a lot of things. They even suggested the paint and tools to use to paint some wood surfaces in our house and a couple of pieces of furniture. I was very impressed with their professionalism and friendliness. I would use them again in the future.

The owner of EYP came to my house for a free consult before the work was accomplished. He looked at the paint area, told me how much paint I would need and what I could expect in terms of area painted during the 8 hours. The two painters showed up on time (a few minutes early actually) and got right to work. In 8 hours they painted our living-room, kitchen, downstairs hallway/stairway/upstairs hallway, our bedroom and our front-porch. I was utterly amazed at the speed and quality of the work. Thomas and Dustin were the two painters - ask for them. I would certainly contact/use EYP again.

We had a very tough time scheduling an appointment for them to come out and perform the work. We decided on a date and my husband took off work. This company never showed up or called. When we tried to contact them, they would not answer their phones.

David promptly called and scheduled a pre-paint inspection, so he could examine what we wanted painted and discuss how much he could get done with 2 painters in an 8 hour time frame. The actually job was scheduled promptly, with the painters arriving on time and completing the agreed to job within the timeframe and with quality. I will definitely recommend Express Yourself Paint and use them again in the future.

i scheduled an appointment for an estimate and received a call about 10 minutes prior to the schedule time from David, the owner of the company, to let me know that he was running 5 minutes late. He apologized for being 5 minutes late! The estimate was very detailed and David provided me with options and information that allowed me to get just what i needed at a very reasonable price. We scheduled a date for the work to be completed but then there was the opportunity to get the work done a day early - which was great for me! The work was fantastic and you can not tell that the walls or ceiling were ever anything but perfect. The person who did the work was friendly and professional. He was great about being careful to not let my dogs out of the house while he was working. I will be using this company again to do work on my carport as well as other interior painting in the future.

Original meeting went well. I was pleased with the specifics I was given about what work would be done and what paint I needed to buy ahead of time. The night before the work was to be done, we were asked to postpone a day. This caused us some inconvenience, but we were fine with rescheduling. On the day of the actual work, the painter did not work 8 hours as agreed upon. He also damaged the trash can in the bathroom. Painter was supposed to come at 8:30am on the next day. He didn't show up until 11:30. This was on a Saturday, and we had changed our weekend plans to accommodate their work schedule. The painter showed up with another guy, and they did spend extra time to prime and paint the walls, which were not originally included in the estimate. But the work was rather sloppy. There is wall paint on the trim. And there are small blobs of paint in places. We will need to do more sanding and painting to get it to look right. This was supposed to be a great deal. But it was not. We will not use them again.

The painters arrived on time, were friendly and assured me that they would not only be able to complete the job that was estimated but could also add my kitchen cabinets if they had time, and they did. I was extremely pleased and I look forward to working with them again. I rate this company an A+++

The work took twice as long as estimated. We had multiple issues with the quality of the work, including the spindle repair and although they tried to fix them they were not done correctly. In addition they got paint on our hardwood that is still there and damaged the hardwood on our staircase as they had to repair the spindle twice because it was not done correctly. In the process they damaged one of my husband's tools. Although this was a big job, the owners only showed up once to check on it and once to get a check for some of their payment. We were very disappointed in their lack of engagement. The staff they had actually doing the painting varied in skill level. Some of them made obvious mistakes that required rework, some of which is still not right as of today, and never will be. We have told several people about the lack of quality in their work and will never use them again.

They were very competent. A man named Grant came out and the great thing about him was he not only did the work, but he explained everything that he was doing.

It never went anywhere because they never responded to my phone calls or emails. I did not buy the special offered on Angie's list as I did not know if they serviced my location.

I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the owner of the company and the young painter who completed the work. Every section of wall that had bee splashed with ceiling paint (to include the fire place chain) was completely cleaned. Although it took another complete day for the single painter to complete the work, everything was done to our satisfaction. Additionally, one of the window blinds that had been damaged when the first painted fell, was professionally repaired. I was so impressed with the quality of the work that when I decided to complete the painting the outside of our house ( I had painted two side walls myself, but was leary of painting the higher elevations of the front and back), I called Mr. Roberts. He came out and gave me an outstanding bid for the work, beating another company's estimate by a substantial amount. His painters came out, power washed the upperportions of the home, caulked the windows, and did just an outstanding job, painting the trim and walls above the first level of the house. I could not be more pleased. I was another outstanding job!
