David and his company did a professional job at an affordable price in a quick timeframe.

It went very well The young men that painted the house were polite, professional and did an excellent job it's the best paint job I've seen and I am a person that pays close attention to detail

Went OK they are just overwhelmed with business right now so it did not work for our time frame now. Will consider them in the future as we will be painting our house exterior in the spring.

I spoke several times to David, the owner of Matrix Painting. We have had so many problem scheduling this work, they were all our problems. Each I spoke to David, he was so nice and helpful. We had already punched paint to do this job before both my husband and and then I became ill. They went above and way beyond what was required to fulfill the Angie's Big Deal. They moved very heavy cabinets , a freezer and other item, did a fantastic job of painting, and then replaced the items. You would not have known they had been there except our garage looks so clean. Super work, great employees, and I will use them again.

We were very pleased with the service. The painters arrived on time; were very courteous and friendly. They did a fantastic job with prep, painting, and clean up.

I had a consultation appointment scheduled for 2 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 with Mike Smith. He called and told me that I was a priority but asked if our appointment could be rescheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the same time. I agreed. Thursday I was busy painting my laundry room, but stopped working just prior to 2pm to wait for his arrival. I waited until 3 pm and then tried calling him. No answer, but I left a message on his voice mail. I still have not heard from him. It is apparent that he does not value me as a potential customer nor does he value my time. I will not do business with this company.

They did a good job. We liked them a lot, we really needed the inside painted and that was a good deal for us. They were very quick and efficient, had it all done in half a day, they were really good.

We made our first contact via phone. Subcontractor communicated frequently before & during the project. His crew showed up on the scheduled date. My direction was to paint exterior with existing painting scheme. I was unable to be at home on project start. When I got home after day one, I noticed the trim (about half complete) was not the existing trim color. I contacted the subcontractor and he said he'd make it right - no hesitation on his part. He was very apologetic. I found an old container which had the original trim information & left it for the painters. The subcontractor re-painted all trim to the correct color. We had some recent work done on an eave which left a gap. The subcontractor filled the gap (fixing the problem left behind by a different contractor) and painted; professional job. I am pleased with the overall quality of the paint job.

Initially scheduled to paint on May 30th but called on the 29th to reschedule due to delays caused by rain. Rain? Other trades were scheduled to work in the areas the following week that I needed them to paint as promised.. The owner of the company was able to sub contract out the work for June 1st and my projects stayed on track. The sub contractors were polite and got a lot accomplished in their 8 hour day. I was not pleased with the fact that the owner of the company never called to see if they arrived or painted to my satisfaction. Just never bothered to call.

The painters arrived on time and worked diligently through the day. They did a great job, were careful to clean up after and worked for the full day (minimal break time). I am very pleased.

The quote was $3500. That's one of the reasons we didn't go with them. When I initially called to set up the appointment, I was little taken aback because I explained the process that I was getting three to four quotes and at the end of that time, I would be making a selection. The person that I was speaking to had said if I was going to do that is it possible for me to be the last vendor to give you a quote. I said yes because it didn't really matter to me. They kind of gave me the wrong frame of reference to begin with because in my mind you're going to present your best and strongest quote. It doesn't matter what someone else does. That gave me a bad impression to start. Second thing was, the guy came out there and he was nice enough but a little salesy. He was kind of slick and wanting to know what he could do to get my business that day. There was an air about him and it was a little pushy. He said all the right things but his demeanor was a little pushy. I didn't like the fact that he when tried to get online to provide me a quote he couldn't get his internet to work and asked me for my wifi password. I gave it to him but I changed it shortly thereafter. That's a bit weird. All of that stuff could've been overlooked asides for the fact that the quote came in at $3500. The other two came in around about the same at $1800-$2000. After that, what also is weird for me was that I asked how long it would take them to do the work and he said about four days. I asked how many people would come out to do the work and he said two or three people, probably two. What I didn't seem to get was they have this frequent coupon on Angie's List, where you get two painters for eight hour days for $500 or so. In my mind, when you put that together, that's an Angie's List special. If you're going to have two painters out there for four eight hour days, you can multiply that special price times four and that comes to right around $2000, which makes you competitive with the other bids. Otherwise, I could've bought the coupon four times to get the work that I needed to do done. Why would I ever go with a $3500 quote? That makes no sense. Then, at the end, he says if anybody else beats me, I'll match their price. Well, why would I do that if you gave me a price that was $1500 more than someone else. Why would you match them and do the same work? That makes me feel ripped off or that you're going to resent me for doing the work for such a cheap price. All the work that I seen them do looked great. All the reviews I saw on Angie's List said the work was quality. At the price quoted more expensive than everybody else that I quoted that all had good reviews from Angie's List, why would I do it?

Express Yourself Paint first cleaned our garage floor, removing spilled paint and then cleaned / prepped the floor with an acid based wash. This was done one day by an extremely hard working and thorough employee. After drying overnight, Mr. Roberts painted the floor with a Porch & Patio paint. All of this was done when we had a difficult schedule to meet. The company was extremely accommodating to our schedule needs and provided an excellent service. We are very pleased with the service and the results.

Express Yourself Paint provided a very professional service in every way. From the initial bid, until the last moment onsite. The Bid: Mike, in sales, came out and we walked around the house discussing every project that needed to be handled. Most impressive was that Mike detailed every line item right then on his computer and printed out a detailed estimate with the ability to accept or reject lines items (I accepted the whole job, and even added some items later). The start date was estimated with a policy that provides a discount for customers who can be a little more flexible. I was in no hurry, but was happy to know it would only be about two weeks until the job started. If I had been in more of a hurry, i think they could have accommodated that, too. Day 1: Three painters arrived on time at 8:30 am (was told between 8 and 9am), each introduced themselves with a handshake as they removed shoes and entered my home. We did another walk thru to verify each room/line item/color selection. The entire first day was spent prepping the house. PREP: Everything was handled expertly (I did a little painting professionally when I was younger ,so know a little about how to paint well). Furniture was moved to the center of each room and covered with plastic or moved to an adjacent room. All hardware was removed including railings, outlet covers, curtains and ceiling light fixtures covers (the mounting plate adjacent to ceiling). Tarps were used in every space painters entered from the front door all the way to the work space. All holes were filled and sanded, and wall imperfections I wasn't aware of were identified and filled, too. Things I was impressed by: Most impressive is that after paint coat #1 was applied, every room was re-inspected and additional patching was done bet (you can see better after an even coat of paint is applied). I was impressed because I had never thought to do that - and wouldn't have even asked for it. End of Day: Each day tarps were picked up, and floors with drywall debris were swept clear - Wow, each day! Painting was done continuously, with painters on site from 8:30 to 4:30 until the work was completed (in one week). Express Yourself has a policy that once work starts, they will not abandon the job, and will work continuously until complete. The guys: All were courteous, experienced, professional and spoke English as their first language (important to some of you) - a real pleasure having them work in my home. They even made my dogs comfortable, preferring their presence over having them locked out of the house. In painting , every crew is going to have different levels of experience. Each of these guys was fully capable of handling every aspect, but Express Yourself sets aside the most experienced painter for the final stage of the work - I guess this improves quality. I would use these guys again, without any reservations, and recommend them for any job, again, without reservation.

My experience was great they came out and did what we asked them to do. They did what we asked of them in a timely manner.They have reasonable prices, they even gave me money back from the job because the job was actually a little less than what I paid on Angie's List. I am very satisfied with the overall experience I have no complaints. I would use them again in the future.

Every interaction from the first estimate to the last brush stroke was prompt and courteous. Very clean and professional. We have another project and have called the company again.

The first day only one guy showed up. He was very professional, friendly, and hardworking--not sure if he took a break all day! Obviously, not a whole lot got done because he was alone. The next day two painters came--one who had painted for us on an earlier job and one I didn't know--both were just as professional as all of the Express Yourself team, which I really value. They got a ton done but in the process, somehow ALL of the bathrooms they painted must've gotten their GFI tripped or something--none of the bathroom outlets work! We tried everything and so did the team when they returned Monday but they left without resolving the issue. The job ran over into a third day due to only having one painter on the first day. They completed the job but in the process broke (accidentally, no biggie) two of the shades/globes on my master bathroom light fixture (out of six). I emailed David and explained the electricity issue to him and the broken globes, and the only response I got was an invoice, and appreciation for my patience. Now I get to call and electrician and either track down replacement shades or buy entirely new (TWO) lighting fixtures for my master bath--there are two sets of three lights each. Also, it was clear that there was no "cutting in" on coat #2 in some areas, as the spot where the wall meets the ceiling is noticeably lighter than the rest of the wall. I don't want to leave a negative review, because overall I think they painters and David were really professional in manner and I am happy with the work. I'm just a little disappointed that my concerns were not even responded to, never mind addressed. Would I use them again? Maybe.

They were great. I couldn't have been more pleased with this companies work. All A's.

Express Yourself Paint were great. They did a very good job, they were very personable and very professional. There were some spots that I noticed he had missed in the painting but other than that I think they did a great job. He was a few hours late but he did call.

It would have been nice if he would have said that the job could not be completed in 3 hours. He did use a fan to blow on the ceiling to help with the drying.

David followed up quickly. We were able to schedule the day we needed. His guys showed up on time and did a good job completing all items. They verified everything was to our satisfaction before leaving. I would use them again.

No problems from start to finish. Very professional in every way. Painters were punctual, courteous, efficient, and personable.

They were excellent. Their execution is great and careful to detail. We have used them since the Big Deal. We have recommended them to others.

2 painters arrived on time and began setting up. One man taped off the trim and painted on the ladder. The other painted the walls from the floor with an extension pole. The painting went very quickly. They were very polite and did whatever I asked them to do.
