Description of Work: Unfortunately, my job request is too small, co. can't honor the offer for the voucher, need Min 3 hours and a truck, my job only requires to move furniture inside my house, not long distance. Therefore I need the refund back for this order. Thanks.

Description of Work: Rescheduled at the very last minute from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM pickup. Through everything off with a really late delivery. Covered up the breakage and overcharged for tongage. Hard to get ahold of and really didn't care. Driver was good and team was OK. Like I said, kept covering up mistakes/damage.

Description of Work: We lived on a hill and they needed a shuttle to move our things to the semi. They were careful and on time. I have used them before and was very happy then also. I did my own packing this time, and they were careful to respect that and my items. I was not quite finished when they arrived and they worked around me and gave me some advise with the last few items I needed to pack. Very friendly and professional.

Description of Work: I called the service provider sometime in December of 2012. Upon speaking with the representative from the company, I was made aware of an undisclosed minimum fee of one hour worth of moving service. For instance, should I need 3 hours of moving, I would be charged for 5 hours. One of the additional hours would be for travel. This is understandable. However, the other additional hour isn't explainable.

There was a minor incident with an administrative assistant providing us with incorrect moving dates and then trying to cover her mistakes by claiming it was our own misunderstanding, but that did not ruin the experience as a whole. Our estimate coordinator was professional and tried to help whenever there were concerns. The movers themselves were professional, friendly, helpful, and prompt. In addition, the final estimate from Excel was at least 15% cheaper than other top-rated companies that we looked into. We would absolutely recommend their service and use them again in the future -- though we're hoping not to move for awhile (seriously, you never know how much "stuff" you have until you have to pack it all up).
Description of Work: Loaded our boxes and belongings after we packed them; drove our belongings from NC to Michigan; unloaded.

+ -1 moreI have used them before. Given the quality workings very reasonable. It was well worth select it. I would definitely use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We used them for clearing out a townhouse. Their moved some stuff to our basement and took a bunch of things to the dump, and it was a pretty complicated job where they had to kind of moved some stuff around in order to make more room for other things.

+ -1 moreThey were expensive in comparison with everybody else that I talked with. They didn't see my place but they estimated it would take eight hours with three men to move my things. They didn't seem to listen to what I was trying to tell them. They did exactly what they said in sending a contract and it was exactly what they said. Their price was disproportionably higher than everybody else.
Description of Work: I got a quote from Excel Moving & Storage to move me a mile away from where I was currently living. It was an 1800 square foot home with minimal furniture including washer and dryer.

+ -1 moreThey were great. They came out and did what they were asked to do and they hung around like I asked for them to do. Everything was professional and it was all lovely. Quite frankly, they were just about the only people that would do this job. I don’t know who else I would have asked and I wanted someone with a license and insurance. The price was about what I expected. It cost more than my termite treatment but I couldn't have done the termite treatment without moving the refrigerator. I was happy with them.
Description of Work: Excel Moving and Storage moved a refrigerator that is jammed into its slot so tightly that I cannot budge it.

The guys were hard working, courteous, very careful with our belongings and our homes (the one we sold and the one we bought) and all in all great guys to work with. This is the second time we have used an "Allied Van Lines" agent (once in Upstate NY) and again this time and we have been most pleased with their people. And a final point. The original estimate was within 300 pounds of actual. The original estimate was for 12,500 pounds and the actual was 12,200 pounds.
Description of Work: We moved from Raleigh to Northern Virginia. An estimate of 12,500 pounds was prepared and we signed the agreement. The assigned moving team arrived at the appointed time ready to move us. We packed almost all of the items ourselves so the movers only had to pack the beds and paintings / prints. With 4 guys, they had us loaded in 3.5 hours. On arrival in Northern Virginia 2 days later (our requested date), they were on-time and ready to move. With 3 guys they had us unloaded in 4 hours. Not a spec. of damage even with squeezing an over-sized sofa into an undersized stair well.

+ -1 moreTHIS WAS THE FOURTH TIME WE USED ALLIED. WE WERE DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS MOVES WENT TOTALLY WITHOUT A HITCH. THIS TIME THEY PUT OUR LARGE FOUR POST BED TOGETHER BACKWARDS, DID NOT REASSEMBLE A LARGE WARDROBE AND LOST SOME ARTICLES.
