+ -1 moreAlthough we had evidence of a general household drainage problem (everything seemed a little sluggish on drainage, I told Donnie up front that my priority was the kitchen sink and the backup that resulted when the dishwasher drain cycle was active. He looked things over and declared that he knew what was wrong; at least with the kitchen sink drainage and that he would resolve that by reconfiguring the drainage for the common drainage for left sink, right sink, and dishwasher. I injected that it seemed to me it would be best to run separate drains from each directly to the main drain pipe or at least to the 2" secondary drain pipe that runs under the kitchen. He disagreed and said the will fix the problem without doing all that. My feeling today (more than two years later) is that the dishwasher drainage would have benefited from a direct line to the 2" pipe in lieu of a shared connection with two other sinks. We have since modified our behaviors so as to further minimize the drain problem so things are tolerable now but frankly I don't give Donnie all the credit.
Description of Work: Donny the Plumber got some positive reviews on the community forum (a discussion board on Yahoo (or Google)) so I gave him a call in November of 2010. His mission: Fix a long-standing drainage problem that included providing drainage for two sinks and a dishwasher so that each component a) drained well, and b) would not back up into the sinks when the dishwasher runs. He came in with confidence and went to work sawing pipes under the house and reconfiguring the drainage for those kitchen issues mentioned so at least under the kitchen sinks the drain configuration looked much better. But the very next dishwasher drainage cycle backed up into the sink. When I called Donnie to inform him of this his response was that he would come by and take a look at it when he finished the new job he was on. I called him twice but Donnie never came back. Granted, his work did improve drainage and the backup is much less of a problem than it was before I called him in. But for $500 I expected more in terms of follow-up and customer satisfaction, considering his community reputation. For some time, I have felt that I should not speak out because Donnie the Plumber seems to be liked in the neighborhood and perhaps his work for me was an anomaly but still having this negativity in mind even two years down the road, I decided to get this off my chest.

+ 0 moreIt started off ok, but went down when I first questioned his pricing. I had called him for service at an earlier time and when I needed something else done as soon as possible, I was told weeks later. Then I told him why that was the case and that we've been doing business for a while. He explain he was too busy, and after that. he just did not return my phone calls. The pricing was a bit cheaper then most. but I would call around first before I settle down to one plumber.
Description of Work: When I called him 1st time. He was there on time. perform the service within two to three days. I was ok with that. since time wasn't an issue. but when an emergency came up and I need a plumber he told me one week later. His work was overall good, and quick, but when I ask about pricing, it's no good. recommend people do some shopping. And consider professionalism.

+ -1 moreI called Donnie Monday afternoon and he scheduled me for first thing Wednesday morning. He arrived promptly and went straight to work. He quickly diagnosed the problem. He had to run to a plumbing supply house to get a part but was back within 30-45 minutes. His price was extremely fair - $65.00 for the service call - he refused to let me pay for the part - saying it was less than a dollar. Other plumbing companies I called wanted almost twice the amount for the initial service call. I'm very glad I called Donnie!
Description of Work: I called Donnie to repair an on/off handle in my shower which had become too hard to turn.

+ -1 moreVery high quality work, reliable and willing to work on weekends if needed. Very professional and cleans up before leaving. Very reasonable for the quality.
Description of Work: Kitchen and house remodeling. Installed new gas lines, installed new water and drain lines for kitchen and new dishwasher and ice maker lines. Installed faucets, toilets and dishwasher. Ran new lines for laundry room sink. Installed new water filtration system for the house.
