The patio looks OK. However, Bob did not follow the manufacturer's installation instructions when putting up the retaining wall, and it therefore did not function to "retain" anything. I put a sprinkler on for my kids to play in, and the water formed a channel under the sod, liquefied the fill dirt in its path, and water and fill poured out the back of the retaining wall like a fountain. Large sink holes opened up where the fill dirt liquefied and spilled out the back of the wall every time it rained or I watered the grass. I had to hire a new contractor to tear down the whole wall, rebuild it, and re-sod the whole back yard. Bob would not admit (let alone fix) his mistakes, even when I could show him exactly what he did wrong (no backfill of drainage gravel, no filling of wall blocks with drainage gravel, no perforated drain pipe running along the interior base of the wall, large amount of fill dirt spilled through wall onto other side), and did not refund any of my money.
