 + 0 moreWe did hold back some money and asked to have the problems remedied. No further contact has been made. We are doing the repair and rest of the work ourselves
Description of Work: Work was contracted for two stacked rock walls, three raised flowerbeds, stone pavers and paths. The quote was high but I had a recommendation that they did good work. The stacked wall top stones were not secured and are already loose and out of position. The stone path and flagstones did not have any sort of foundation put under them. The flagstones were loose from day one and the river rock stones have already washed away leaving bare dirt. The raised beds consisted of some dirt (poor quality) thrown on the ground. We planted several plants and the soil was so bad, half of them died. We paid extra above the quoted price to have mulch put down, We had to put down our own fabric to prevent weeds from coming through. The mulch was put down so lightly that the fabric is showing throughout the yard. I have had to purchase and lay my own amended soil, replace and relocate plants and will now have to order and put out mulch. The whole idea behind paying someone to do the work was so I wouldn't have to. I would not recommend DesignScapes to anyone.

 + 0 moreBEWARE: Very nice and attentive up to the point of committment. Once we committed they were not near as responsive and even less once we paid them. The plants they provided were low quality compared to local nursuries. They attempted to sell us plants that should have been in smaller gallon containers, but came in higher gallon containers at higher prices. Landscape supervisor was afraid of his boss and his help. My wife had to stay and supervise for entire job as he focused more on the plans at the expense of common sense on plant location. The worst experience of all was after the job completion. We had one tree that was clearly planted too low and their failure to grade the area led to this tree sitting in standing water. We had the crew leader and owner, Susan, back to view this and they said add more water. The tree is now dead and she claims no responsibility. We had 2 other experts out and they agreed, too low and poor grading. We have worked to acquire another tree and Designscapes will not even provide the labor to swap out the trees. Again, once they get their money they are gone! We have a neighbor that unfortunately used them and they are having the same experience.

 + -1 moreThey got the job done within three days and they were very fast. The lady's name that owns the company is Susan Downing, and Dave is the guy that came out and did the actual work.
Description of Work: They did 'hardscaping',using stones down to the pool area, built a small retaining wall,filled in the area with dirt and mulch and planted plants.
