Davis Masonry

We are totally pleased. Mr. Garland Davis and his two man team are highly skilled. They also seem to be of the highest character and extremely pleasant. They removed the bricks and concrete that had been damaged by a large tree that had been located too close and whose growth cracked the concrete and the upper part of the brick wall along side of the steps leading to the basement. The damaged brick work and concrete slab on top were replaced with excellent brick masonry. The guard rail beside the back porch was replaced with concrete cinder blocks topped by bricks. There was also patching of a concrete slab required. Their work is extremely attractive, and it appears to be of the highest quality while being done at a very reasonable cost. The total cost was $1450. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have utilized their services.

It's great working not only with skilled workmen but good people. Garland and his crew showed up and not only were they utterly friendly and professional, but they did great work. Once he came out for an estimate, he got back to me the same day with brick samples to compare against the house. The bricks he found matched my thirty-year-old house almost perfectly. And he even matched the tooling in the mortar upon install. I'll definitely be calling Garland back for future work on my house.

Garland stopped by and gave me a free estimate. We agreed to the work, and his team showed up later that week and finished the work in a little over a day. As he repaired the stairs he noticed additional tiles, bricks and mortar that needed to be repaired. He also fixed this after asking us if that was what we wanted him to do. We were very pleased with the overall job and price.

Garland and his crew did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again. He was a bit slow in getting here but it wasn’t really an issue for this project. Once they started the work they stayed with the job until it was completed and when they finished he made sure to tell me to call him if we had any issues which I really appreciated.

Mr. Davis and his crew did a beautiful job. Mr. Davis searched for bricks to closely match our 30+ year old discontinued bricks. They removed damaged/cracked bricks and replaced with new ones. They even repaired areas we didn't know needed it -- pointing up above windows, etc. Cleaned up every day. Can't say enough nice things about them.

Garland Davis is a true craftsman! I was amazed. You cannot tell where the crack in the foundation was -- everything matches perfectly. He took the time to search around my yard to see if there were any original matching bricks anywhere and happened to find some under the deck. The front steps are safe and attractive again as well. He is in demand, so we had to wait about a month for service, but it was well worth it. Would definitely recommend Davis Masonry!

The landing and steps had deteriorated over the 50+ years since our home was built. Mr. Davis evaluated the problem and provided expert advice on how to rebuild the damaged brickwork. The landing was concrete and he suggested using pavers to improve the appearance. He had a kind demeanor and clearly cared about our concerns. He provided a fair quote and we hired him for the repair. We are very happy with the craftsmanship and excellent service Mr. Davis and his team provided. Mr Davis came, gave me some options and fair prices. He came back when promised. When it began to rain he covered all the work so it could cure properly.

We had some settling due to downspout runoff on our steps and walkway. The steps had dropped around 5 inches and were separating from the house. It was an eyesore and safety hazard. The walkway had dropped several inches and runoff was creating a hole under our driveway. We are extremely happy with the service and quality of work Garland Davis and his team provided. Garland provided the quote, gave us ideas on how he could perform the work, and delivered an on-time and on-budget job. Everyday I walk up our new stairs, I take great pleasure in how good they look. Never thought in my life I would say that about steps, but when you get good craftsmanship, there is something special about it.

We had some repairs made to our hearth prior to having hardwood floors installed. The repairs went well but the new brick chosen by the contractor did not come close to matching the brick of the rest of the fireplace. The original contractor was unwilling to "fix" what he had done so we had to hire another mason. Davis Masonry was prompt in coming to our home and providing us with an estimate, immediately recognizing what was needed because of the highly contrasting brick colors. Even though the hardwood floors had been installed by this time, Mr. Davis took extra care to cover the floors and preserve them while rebuilding the hearth. He suggested a tinted mortar to match the old mortar and it worked well. They cleaned up after finishing and left everything in great shape. Once the mortar dried, the hearth portion of the fireplace blends in nicely with the rest of the fireplace. We called Custom Brick who had given us Mr. Davis' name to begin with to let them know how pleased we were with the service Davis Masonry provided.
