I called about a leak in my master bathroom on 2/7/20. I left a message and was called back. I was told I would receive a phone call back on Saturday evening as that was when they scheduled for the following week. I did not receive a call on Saturday evening. I called on Monday morning 2/10/20 to inquire why I wasn’t even given a call back. No one ever contacted me. Not the way to run a business.

I dropped the ball on doing a review last year when Dana and his crew replaced our roof. They were amazing to work with. Like others, I got several quotes and did my research. There was another roofing company that came in close but it seemed too commercialized. I was happy to give my business to the Dean Family. They went above and beyond. From the start to the finish, they were attentive and the roof is beautiful. They even gave us an option to buy a few more years out of our old roof by only repairing several problem areas if it wasn’t the right time for us. Dana Dean was the only one to offer is that option. We had our gutters cleaned and the cleaners noticed that a gutter was broken during the replacement. I was really scared that they would tell me they didn’t do it, but they came out and looked at it and told us they were sorry and would have it fixed. It is now fixed and looks great too. If you want good honest people to replace your roof, then call Dana Dean Roofing right away. I tell all my friends and neighbors to use him. You won’t be sorry! Thank you, Dana and crew!

I cannot praise highly enough the superb job that Dana Dean Roofing did on the replacement of my roof. I used their “burnt sienna” color of architectural Landmark shingles, and they look fantastic on my house. Dana Sr., Dana Jr. and the entire Dana Dean Roofing team were wonderful to work with: thoroughly professional, dependable, kind, courteous, on-time, and truly a pleasure to work with. For years I’d been dreading the replacement of my roof, as it’s not usually much fun, but Dana Dean Roofing made it a pleasure. Truly a pleasure! Even some of my neighbors who are contractors, builders, and carpenters were impressed by the superb workmanship done by Dana Dean Roofing. In short, I cannot recommend Dana Dean highly enough. I have only praise for this wonderful, locally based roofing company, and their superb employees and owners. I am a retired professor, and I give Dana Dean Roofing the grade of A+!

Dana Dean Roofing completed a full roof replacement on our house, and we are very happy with the results. Of the four roofing contractors who assessed the issues with our roof, Dana Dean Jr performed the most detailed review. From the information he provided, we could tell that Dana Jr was a very knowledgeable, experienced roofer. He not only oversaw the roof replacement process from start to finish, but he was also ‘hands on’ as needed – responding to whatever questions we had throughout the course of the project (from initial meeting thru completion) and ensuring that all of our concerns were addressed. The crew showed up for work each morning (of the multi-day job) at the time expected and worked diligently in completing the work (hand nailed) within the estimated time frame. In summary, Dana Dean Roofing met our objectives: a quality job at a fair price, a contact point in Dana Jr who was honest, responsive and truly cared about delivering results. Finally, the included warranty gives us peace of mind that, if any issues arise associated with the roof replacement, Dana Dean Roofing would follow up as needed. We would definitely recommend this roofing company to anyone needing this service.

I was extremely happy with Dana Dean and found him honest and most professional. I really did my homework on roofers after noticing a leak on our upstairs ceiling. I wanted to get 3 quotes, because roofs are vitally important. I looked on Angie's List, YELP, and other reviews before setting up quotes. Many roofers want to charge to come out, which discourages quotes. Good for their company; bad for the consumer. I advise not to consider roofers who charge for estimates. I only considered roofers who offered free quotes. My 1st Quote — RADICALLY RENEWED They said, "Oh my God, you need a new roof!" They said that my shingles had extensive hail damage, and they could get my insurance company to pay for a new roof. My gut doubted something about them, and when I said, "let's just fix the immediate problem", they said it was my roof vent which would cost $1360 to fix. I threw out this estimate and got 3 others, all of whom said that a vent pipe caused the leak, and the 3 other roofers never mentioned that I needed a new roof. In fact, one said that my shingles were in good condition. My 2nd Quote — DAVE'S ROOF REPAIRS Dave seemed like an honest guy just trying to make a living, and said the problem was my vent pipe. He quoted $250 to repair the vent pipe. Thing is, he didn't have Worker's Comp. So I didn't hire him for liability reasons. My 3rd Quote — OLDE ROOFING I heard good things about Olde Roofing, and Daniel seemed professional on the phone. However, they wanted $750 to fix the vent pipe! $750!!! Then Daniel proceeded to try to sell me a major roof rehaul to the tune of $3850. He talked on and on and on for 10 minutes (I'm not exaggerating), seeming to read from a script, not letting me get a word in edgewise. I didn't want to hang up on him, but perhaps I should have. My 4th Quote — DANA DEAN At this point, I was frustrated. Dana came out by himself (not another worker like the others, except for Dave), and was quite professional. He spent time on my roof. He came back and said it was my vent pipe, $325. He showed me pictures of rusted nails popping up, uplifted flashing, a shingle up which exposed some wood... all normal wear and tear. He said it wasn't extensive and he could fix all for $625. My gut reaction was to trust him. I hired him, he came quickly and on time, and did good work. I was very pleased. If you're looking for a roofer, I'd STRONGLY suggest DANA DEAN. I extensively googled/researched other roofers, and this is what I found: BAKER'S ROOFING They do good work, but are very expensive. They give free quotes! I called them last summer for my leaking skylight, and they said they couldn't get someone out there until 7 weeks. I couldn't have that leak for that long. Then, months later, I called them for a quote when I was calling Olde and Dana. I got other quotes, hired Dana, and then, Baker called me, about 10 days after I had left a voice message asking them for a quote. I had to tell them the job was done. COLE BROTHERS Cole Brothers got really good reviews, but they want $125 for a "diagnostic fee" to come out and give a quote. This upset me, because their website says free quotes. ROOFWERKS They got good reviews, but they don't give free quotes. HOUSETOP ROOFING Offers free quotes. I would have probably hired them if Dana didn't work out. A good friend whose opinion I trust says they're honest and they do good work. This friend has a business with her husband renovating old homes. CONSOLIDATED ROOFING SYSTEMS They wanted $165 to come out! He gave a heavy sales pitch trying to justify this cost, telling me any roofer who doesn't charge this is probably a "fly-by-night" operation. LEGACY A neighbor referred me to Legacy, and the guy was nice on the phone, saying $250 was what he typically charged to repair a vent pipe. But he never showed up for his appointment. To give the benefit of doubt, he may have lost my number. ?? I don't usually go to this length when hiring a company, but it took a while to find a good and honest roofer who gives free estimates. I couldn't afford spending $300-to-$400 just getting estimates, and as you can see, the estimates were really needed.

We had many people come out and give estimates on the new roof, all from highly rated companies we found on Angie's List. Some were too much money. Some that were a fair price wouldn't return phone calls after they gave an estimate. We found out about this company through a friend so we gave it a try. Unlike the other companies, Dana Jr. actually went on the roof. He found some damage that nobody else could see from the ground. Based on how our house and the other houses nearby are set up, you can only see it from the ground at a certain angle. We appreciated that he did that and his price was pretty good. We made an appointment for him to come by so we could go over his quote. He didn't show up. I called him and he apologized saying that this never happens. He did come when we rescheduled. They are a popular company and it took some time to get on the schedule but that was fine with us. We were in no rush. Coincidentally many of our other neighbors got their roofs replaced just before ours. They hired inferior companies and it only took them one day to do it. Dana Dean's took two days even with five or so employees as they hand nail the shingles. I appreciate that. It seems like they use good products and care about doing a good job. We also needed a small part of our gutter to be replaced and he had a subcontractor do that a few days later. After they finished, they left a t-shirt and tape measure and didn't put back the items they took off our porch. We also found a few nails and some small pieces of shingle. It also took several attempts to get an invoice to pay. Most people are fine with that but I wanted to make sure it didn't get lost. While there are a few minor complaints, overall we were very happy with the price and quality and recommend this company to others looking for a few roof.

They came promptly when scheduled to give us estimate, which was a seemingly fair price. They didn't try to sell us on roof replacement, said it could wait a couple of years. They came when scheduled, got right to work, fixed the problem, left no mess. It's been over a year now and we've had no issues, so they must have done it right.

1. Started the project as they stated on the contract. 2. Showed up on time and started working immediately. 3. They worked diligently. The owner himself was among the workers - work was done according to his standard., 4. They cleaned up the work surroundings daily before they leave. 5. When project was completed, the house surrounding was picked up and clean as it was before. 6. The workers are polite, professional, and hard working just like their boss. 7. I asked lots of questions (wanting to learn more about roof) and Mr. Dana Dean Jr. provided clear and thorough information as requested by me. 8. A perfect father-and-son team from an extremely ethical company.

They were very prompt and punctual. I was at work when they came and they notified me via text that they were on their way out there and let me know when they were done. When I got home, there were no indication that had been there. They cleaned up everything and the work was done well.

Overall it went good. They showed up very early, but that is understandable to avoid the summer heat. A crew of 6-8 men completed most all work in one day. The clean up was pretty good but still we are finding nails in the yard. They came back the very next day and completed the soffit vents and clean up. I covered our belongings in the attic with a plastic tarp and am glad I did. Reroofing leaves behind a lot of small fragments of wood, roof granuals, etc.
