CARY GRANITE

Cary Granite did an awesome job. We had a first meeting with Joe at the house to understand our project, take basic measurements and get a cost estimate, that we got the very next day. A few days later, we went to choose the slate, most of the slates we saw were in the range of the price estimate we got (no bad surprise we heard from other companies were the quote you get is the ugly color, and everything nice is more expensive), so we had plenty of colors to choose from. Here again, Joe was great, helping us assess what type would best match our kitchen colors and style. The install was done in a less than a day, they also took care of booking the plumber to handle sink change. We walked out at noon, came back at 4 PM with new counter tops in a fully operational kitchen. Great experience.

They have great price and great service. They went above and beyond what I needed them to do. Everything was great. The countertop turned out wonderful. It was just perfect. In fact, I have already recommended them to someone else.

They had a good selection of granite and fairly priced. Showed up on time, completed on time and coordinated all service people (plumber, electrician, etc.) as needed.Will definitely use again and already discussing a new project.

Experience went smoothly, from start to finish. Joe came out to take measurements and give us an estimate. I then drove out to his warehouse. He didn't have the color I wanted in stock, but would be getting it the next day. To save me another trip, he took me out to the supplier to take a look at the slabs he had coming in, and I picked one. Shortly thereafter, he came by and did the template. He let me come back to the warehouse to work with his guys in doing the layout - which his guys are perfectly capable of doing on their own, but I had a couple of requests about which portion of the granite slab I wanted used for the bar. On the day of installation, we didn't have any problems - his guys came out and were professional, competent, and efficient and finished within a few hours. I really appreciated that since I've noticed that just because the owner of a company is professional and courteous doesn't mean that his employees will be - but Joe's definitely were. Joe did mention that I didn't need to clean out my cabinets for the installation, but I wish I had because there was some debris that fell in (I think it was from removal of the old countertops). But, no big deal. The granite looks great. I noticed a couple of very minor imperfections on one part of the slab, but didn't bother bringing them to Joe's attention because everything looked great overall - I have no doubt that if I'd mentioned it though, Joe would have made sure they got taken care of. One thing I should mention though is that I would definitely NOT use Joe's plumber - my experience with him was an entirely different story that ended in some expensive repairs for us. But, not Joe's fault - he doesn't push his customers to use his plumber, he's just happy to offer him if you don't have anyone of your own. In short, I wish all home service provider companies were as professional and easy to work with as Cary Granite.

The entire experience was FABULOUS! We were having trouble finding a good, trustworthy granite company to work with and we found Joe & Cary Granite on Angie's List. I emailed Joe and he called back that night, sent a quote by 7am the next morning, came out to create a template the day after we agreed to work with him and installed less than a week later. There was no contract and no deposit - he told me that the way he does business is that we agree on a price, he installs his product, and if I'm satisfied, I pay him. Needless to say, we were THRILLED with the work and gave him a check when we dropped off our free lazy susan! We originally planned to just replace the kitchen counters but at the last minute I asked how much it would cost to do the bathroom counter as well. It was only an additional $300 (bringing us to $2000 total) and the removal fees would include that as well. We decided to do that and couldn't be happier. Joe and his team were super professional, very responsive, offered fantastic customer service, and a very competitive price. I would use them again and highly recommend working with them!

This is the granite installer you want. I am an engineer and have done many projects myself including finishing entire rooms in my house, plumbing, electrical, moldings & trim, etc. I am meticulous and prefer to do things myself because often contractors never measure up to my expectations. I am a contractor's worst nightmare if they are marginal to average competency. Keep that in mind as I take time from my busy day to write a recommendation for Cary Granite / Joe Murphy and his excellent crew. To avoid getting long worded I'm going to give you key bullet items. 1) Doesn't push his staff to rush the job. They take their time and get it right. 2) They reinforce with blocking to provide extra support to the granite. (Installer spent > hour on this) 3) Every little detail is watched over, as it should be; where to locate corbels to look best, how deep to set the stove, where to install the sink faucet. The heavy tops get carried in and out of the house multiple times for final cuts and fitting. 4) Friendly, courteous, and patient. Joe and the crew. Installer: "You have every right to ask questions about this. I want you to feel completely comfortable that it is going to be what you want when we're finished." 5) Knowledgeable. Obviously when guys have this much experience cutting and installing granite they know what they're doing. 6) Don't pick your slabs by yourself. Let Joe help you. DO NOT PICK GRANITE LOOKING AT A TINY 4" x 4" sample! And consider hiring an interior decorator as we did to help you choose the best granite type to match your cabinets and color scheme. Again, this is done while looking at entire slabs not samples. You can forget those little boards at home depot and lowes. You don't buy granite there anyway. Joe will show you the major granite distributors with wide selection. Call Joe first, then call your decorator. 7) Price. Joe is very reasonable with his prices. You'd pay more to get him as your installer, but lucky for you, you'll probably end up paying less. I don't take time out of my day to write reviews...but I did for this guy and his excellent crew. One final closing though...when the job is done, correctly, and you're looking at your new granite counter tops you are going to be blown away. Nothing comes close to the beauty of natural stone. Take your time and do it right. Let Joe help you. Good Luck!

I have been helping my parents rennovate their home. Joe came highly recommended from the store where we purchased our cabinets, and when I checked him out on Angie's list, I knew I definitely wanted to get a quote from him. We had Joe and 2 other companies come out. One company we called because we had received a coupon in the mail, and although they were about $300.00 cheaper than Joe, we just didn't have a good feeling about them. The other company was on Angie's list, and they were very good as well and their price and Joe's were almost the same. The deciding factor for us, though, was that Joe immediately emailed to us a very detailed cost estimate, right down to how many square feet of tile and labor for each section of the kitchen. We felt confident going in that we knew what the price would be coming out. When I called Joe back to tell him that we had selected him to do the installation, he was very appreciative a showed up a couple days later and made a very meticulous template for our counter. He had indicated that it would take about 2 weeks to cut and polish the granite and return for installation. We were surprised, but pleased, when Joe called about 4 days later to say that he was ready to install if our timing would work. His guys showed up on time as stated, and they worked non-stop for about 5 hours installing all the tops. We were very impressed by how much work and attention they paid to installing supports where the dishwasher inserts and where the counter makes a turn from the penisula into the run along the sink side. The other thing that was really impressive was that they only put one seam on a long run of counter, and honestly, you have to get down with a strong light to even find the seam. This is noteworthy because in my house, you can clearly see the seam of the counter where the installer that the builder of my house used to join the counter - I wish my counter was as seamless as the one Joe did! A couple days after the installation, Joe emailed me to make sure that everything was satisfactory and to let him know if there were any issues. There were none. Joe also emailed me an invoice, and it was exactly, to the penny, what he had quoted in his estimate.

Contacted Cary Granite through Angies List and were contaacted a day later by the owner, Joe Murphy. He was able to come out a couple days later to measure and give us a rough idea on what to expect. We had already been scouting out granite and knew what we wanted. We were happy to learn he keeps what we wanted in stock as he used the very same granite in his own vacation home! We went out to his site and looked over his selections and firmed up what we wanted in the kitchen as well as in the powder room. Joe came out the following week to do the templating and a few days later his team showed up and did a great job with the install. They had to get a bit creative with the powder room as the cabinet is a rather odd shape, but the did a wonderful job with the work-around. All of our family and friends have been quite impressed with the job and we will be enjoying them for years to come.

We contacted Cary Granite based on reviews from Angie's List and those reviews are spot on!! Joe came out early one morning before I had to go to work to give us a quote on granite countertops and gave us the lowest of the 3 quotes we received.He suggested we take our time picking out our granite and sent us to Cosmos Granite where we found a beautiful piece of granite for our countertops. Once we picked our slab - Joe was out the following Monday to template the counters and by Friday his installers were at our house to finish the job. And what a job they did! Their work was outstanding. Very detailed and ensured that we were happy with every aspect of the install. And happy does not begin to describe. They even coordinated with the plumber to come in and install our new faucet the same day. I was extremely nervous about getting granite countertops and Joe was very patient and helpful throughout the entire process. And Joe did not even require a down payment to get the work started. Once his installers were done - they said Joe would contact us and make arrangements for payment. You don't find a company like that around much anymore. We would highly recommend Cary Granite as the place to go for any and all of your granite needs. They're the best!!!

I called Cary Granite and the owner, Joe, came out two days later to rough measure and give me an estimate. The quote he gave was much less than I thought it would be and he had good reviews on Angie's List so I chose him to do the work. I went to Cary Granite and picked out my granite from what he had on site. (I really thought I would need to go to another granite yard but found a granite I loved.) I told him I was off the following week and asked if he could come out and do the template then. Not only did he do the template (on Tuesday), his guys came out and installed the granite on Friday of the same week. I am very pleased with Cary Granite and would definitely recommend them.

The process was great. They provided personalized attention and the installation was excellent with a competitive price.

Joe came out to the house and did an estimate and template. He explained exactly where the seems would be in the countertop. He asked us to go to COSMOS and pick out the granite we would like. Once we picked out the granite he then gave us an estimate. His estimate was in the middle of the three I received. From start to finish, ~3 weeks. I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Cost wise he charged exactly what he had estimated. I would highly recommend Joe to anyone!

Well overall. Only minor issue was getting them to provide a date for installation more than 2 days in advance.

I found Cary Granite/Joe Murphy through Angie's List and decided to go with him, even though he was a bit more expensive than a few others, because of the Angie's List referrals and Joe's responsiveness. We got off to a good start when Joe agreed to meet me at 7:15 a.m. to give me an estimate. Meeting this early accommodated my work schedule. Not only was he willing to meet me that early, he was also on time - actually a bit early even - unlike one of the other companies who came to give me an estimate who wouldn't agree to come until 9:00 a.m. and then didn't show until 10:00 a.m. Joe was very courteous, professional, and helpful. I needed the job done quickly because I am trying to sell the house in which the countertops were installed, and they accommodated that. Installation was a breeze, and the countertops look great. They left the house in good shape afterwards too. I highly recommend them.

as noted above the experience was very painless everything was cut to size with no issues. We have been very pleased the plumber showed up later that morning installed facet and disposal and everything worked great..

Excellent experience using Cary Granite from selection, price, installation and follow-up. One suggestion to anyone thinking about granite counter tops is to let them price you on faucets versus buying your own from the hardware store as they can save you money. The plumber they use is excellent and we had him do bathroom and other work versus the plumber we had been using for years. I would highly recommend Cary Granite. L. Smith, Raleigh

They had high ratings on Angie’s List. We liked them; they did a very good job. They arrived on time and as scheduled. Initially, I was looking at their lowest-priced granite, then decided to go with a different type of granite, and they were flexible with that. Their prices were reasonable. The experience went well overall.

I found them on Angie's List. He is independent and local. He doesn't bill you until the job is done and you are happy with it. Most people don't do that. Most people require either a full payment or a deposit. You don't pay him until you're satisfied. He was also half the price of a competitor. He provides products of exceptional quality. You can go out to the granite yard and pick out the granite you want. If he doesn't have it, he has a few distributors around that he can send you to for picking out the granite.

I was afraid that we would not be able to use the kitchen for an extended period of time; that was NOT the case. Cary Granite made a template of the countertops--took about 30 minutes---and brought the counters back ready to install a few days later. They also arranged for a top-notch plumber to put in our new faucet and garbage disposal. He was right on the scene and did his part of the job for an extremely reasonable fee. I left in the morning for work and came home to a finished job. A wonderful experience and we are completely satisfied. Highly recommend.
