After coming to our home to estimate our job, Carolina In-Home Flooring submitted a fair quote with no hidden extras or up-charges. Flooring samples were brougt to our home and a perfect match to our existing hardwood flooring was ordered. Carolina In-Home Flooring scheduled the work at our convenience and the installation crew arrived on-time, as promised. The work was completed according to the contract in a very professional manner. We were pleased with the quality of the workmanship and the materials used. Very professional owner and courteous, trustworthy installers. Would highly recommend this company for hardwood flooring. Fair price, completed on-time, excellent clean-up and minimal inconvenience for a fairly large project. 3-Month Update: Floors are better than expected!! Absolutely no problems or flaws have appeared, and we continually get compliments on how well Mike and his installer Oscar matched our existing floors. You may get a better price from someone else, but these guys know what they're doing. Especially if you're not in the mood to move your furniture around to accomodate another installer. Great job, Oscar!

I chose them to do our carpets and I am so happy that I did. There was a small issues with the carpet installers which Mike addressed immediately and the carpets were completed to my satisfaction. The carpets look great and I will definitely use them again.

I called Mike on July 25 and we scheduled an in-home appointment for the next day. Mike brought laminate floor samples for me to see. I had told him that I wanted to replace my downstairs flooring with the exception of my dining room and foyer which already had wood flooring. I wanted wood laminate for my living room, hallway and three bedrooms and a tile laminate for the kitchen, laundry room and two bathrooms. Mike was very easy-going and pleasant to work with. He knew his products and offered advice when asked. He provided an estimate by e-mail that evening. I called him back on Aug. 1 to confirm that I wanted his company to do the job and asked him if it could be done before Aug. 15. He scheduled me for Aug. 4 and 5. The installation team arrived right on time at 8:30 am on Aug. 4 and worked until 8 pm laying the laminate in the living room, hallway, two bedrooms and closets, and one bathroom.The master bedroom and one bathroom was in progress. The team cleaned up everything inside and outside the house before leaving. The team leader was very careful about everything and always asked me questions about the direction that I wanted the planks and tiles, was the stain on the quarter round a good match, etc.. The team was to return the next day at 8:30, but called me to say they wouldn't arrive until 9 am because they were picking up supplies. They arrived at 9 and completed the master bedroom and closet including the area inside the closet that was under the stairwell, the coat closet in the hallway and a linen closet plus the kitchen, back hallway, pantry and laundry room. We experienced a neighborhood power outage for about 1-1/2 hours, so the team took their lunch break while the power was out. They worked until 6:45 Friday evening, cleaned up everything before they left and made sure they had all of the furniture back in place. The team said they would be back on Saturday to complete the bathroom and finish the quarter round. They had another job scheduled for Monday. Saturday morning was stormy, but they came by to let me know that they were going to work on a new construction where they could use the saw inside and would be back in the afternoon if the weather cleared. It did and two of the team members completed staining and installing quarter round and made sure that everything was back in place. I had asked if they would remove the carpet just inside the door where my stairs are and place a plank of wood laminate and quarter round.They did this also. We agreed that the bathroom could be completed on Monday after their other job. The team leader called me Monday afternoon at 5 pm to let me know that they had just completed their job but still had to dispose of materials so it would be after 7 pm before he could be at my house. He said he would be free Tuesday morning if that worked better which it did. The team leader came on Tuesday morning and completed the bathroom. I am very pleased with the product and installation. Mike called Tuesday to check on my satisfaction with the job. Mike and the installation team was a pleasure to work with and very good at making sure that everything was done neatly and with minimal disruption to the household. I also appreciate the communication throughout the job. I will definitely give them a call when I'm ready to do the upstairs.

I called and e-mailed. Their e-mail response indicated that someone would call within 24 hours. Never heard from them.

Mike was very responsive. Provided on site estimate and samples. Scheduled install date and confirmed via email. Crew arrived early and completed entire job in one day. Looks great. Good pricing. Will certainly use again.

Installation went well with an effective crew, taking most of the day with this large job. Excellent final results - we're very pleased.

Mike Nelson returned my call very promply, and arranged to come to our house for an estimate at our convenience. He was patient in explaining the options and advantages of various products and provided a written quote the same day as his visit. The hardwood and carpet were installed at the beginning of the following week. Workers arrived at the agreed time, were very polite, skilled and professional, and completed the total installation within two days. They also cleaned up thoroughly and moved all the furniture back into place. The quality of the work is excellent. The new oak flooring was a very good match with our existing oak floors in the kitchen and breakfast nook, and the transitions look seamless. The carpeting was also installed very nicely and is of the quality and color that we expected. The pricing was quite reasonable and we received discounts as promised on both the carpeting and hardwoods. Mike followed up several times to be sure the work met our expectations, We are extremely satisfied and would use this company again in the future.

Very well. Mike was fair from the start. Because I wanted a one stop shop of someone who could come in and take care of my floors as well as all of my other home punch list items, I started to take my business elsewhere, only to find myself dealing with high maintenance communication, constant rescheduling and overall uncertainty about the work. I got back in touch with Mike as I felt comfortable with him from the get go. I had already purchased the wood flooring and had it here ready to install. Mike's guys installed it and the tile I purchased from them in less than a week. It looks fantastic. The carpet team came in the next weekend to re-stretch my carpet. Also a very professional, trustworthy team. You can't go wrong with Carolina In Home Flooring!

I got a prompt response for the initial consultation. Mike was right on time and I picked out the flooring I wanted, with no high pressure sales pitch. I received an email with the estimate the next day, and my flooring was installed within a week of the initial consultation. The installers arrived on time and were very polite and professional. They worked nonstop until they finished in the afternoon. They cleaned up and made sure I was happy with their work before they left. My new floor is beautiful and I am very pleased with the entire process start to finish. I would definitely use Carolina In Home Flooring again, and I would recommend them to anyone with similar flooring needs.

I had a good experience with this company. The team arrived on time and the team was very professional and courteous. They help with moving furniture and placing furniture in place with the job was done.

I am not one who normally buys from businesses that come to my home. I prefer to go out and visit several showrooms and choose among them. After casually visiting a carpet dealer on US 70, I checked out Angie's List and found Carolina In Home Flooring. The only reason I went ahead and scheduled an appointment was due to the great reviews on AL. It was a great decision. Mike Nelson easily beat the competition on both Price and Product Knowledge. Mike was right on time for the initial appointment and was interested in hearing our carpet requirements. He picked several carpets with somewhat different price points that would satisfy our needs (pets, heavy traffic). We made our selection and paid a few dollars extra for a carpet pad with a moisture (pet) barrier. After Mike added up the figures we had a better price for a better carpet (than the carpet dealer on 70) and a better carpet pad. We chose our carpet and we set a date and time for installation. Mike called me about 15 minutes before the appointment to let me know they were on their way. They should up on time and did a great job moving some furniture, ripping up the old carpet/pad and putting in some nails as needed in the sub-floor to even the flooring out.Mike is a friendly, knowledgeable and professional person. His installers were also pleasant and professional. The carpet looks great - excellent job! I won't hesitate to use Carolina In Home Flooring and will recommend to friends and family.

The installers were professional and did a good job with carpeting for most of our three-story property. I would definitely choose to work with this company again.

We have contemplated this project for quite some time. Received quotes from one of the big box stores and the cartoon guy :). After joining AL to check on those I discovered the multitude of fantastic reviews for Carolina In Home Flooring. We called and had Mike come over, show us some product and give us a quote. We couldn't be happier that we did. Mike was knowledgeable, informative and someone you intuitively trust. The price was extremely fair and competitive and it was one of the easiest decisions to reach. Mike happily accommodated our installation schedule request. His crews for the wood floors and carpet were extremely pleasant and courteous. They performed the work expeditiously and with the professionalism one would expect. The end results are outstanding! I would not hesitate to use Carolina In Home Flooring again, and can confidentially recommend them to anyone who needs similar work.

We had a quick response from our initial call. We were able to select the flooring and scheduled installation within a week. The installers were on time and were neat in appearance and very polite. They pulled out the stove, refrigerator, washing machine and dryer. I was glad we were not expected to do that. They worked without taking a break, finishing late afternoon. After finishing, the workman told me he'd been doing this work for 12 years (which it was evident he knew what he was doing, as we had many angles and he measured the cuts without seeming the least bit perplexed by anything), and in his experience we had gotten the best quality product. I would have been suspicious if he'd said it before hand, but he also was able to describe specifically why he thought so. After they left, upon close inspection, I found one tiny defect on an angular cut right at the wall. I informed the salesman when he called to check on things. No problem! They returned the next day - a Saturday - and replaced the board. And their attitude was just as pleasant and polite as the day before. I feel fortunate to have found them on Angie's List and would definitely recommend them to friends and neighbors.

The price was right, so we had Carolina In Home Flooring come back a second time to complete our entire house. They installed site-finished red oak. It is the most gorgeous floor EVER, a stunning and warm blend of gold, red, and brown tones. In my opinion, it is the way to go. They also shined up our old hardwoods to flow with the new ones by sanding and coating with poly. Mike is a very good person to work with, which is truly hard to find. He is dependable, professional, flexible, patient, and steady throughout the whole process, all while keeping his focus on customer satisfaction. His installers do great work, and are conscientious and hard-working. We are happy to have hardwood flooring throughout our home, and thankful to Mike and the guys for making it happen. Go for it!

Speaking to Mike on the phone I described the room and the work needed. He provided me an estimate based on my description and I accepted the estimate and the cost associated with possibly having to resplice the carpet at two doorways. Two days later his workers arrived and did a nice job - without having to resplice the doorways. I discussed the quicker remedy and Mike lowered the price accordingly. I have a couple more rooms to do and expect to hire Mike for it. It would have been nice if they had vacuumed up the pile scraps.

They came out promptly on time and they were excellent. They were a great company. They had samples in hand. They gave me suggestions and information on details we wanted. They are a little high priced but the wood they used itself costed us $1000. Since they do good work we decided to go with them. They were courteous and called me back even when I left missed calls.

Mike Nelson and his crew did an outstanding job, the floors look great. They moved large furniture out of the way for us and put back in place after the job was completed. His crew were professional requiring little supervision. Mike, did check in on a regular basis to be sure the project went smoothly. Any concerns we had were resolved quickly, Mike is customer focused and quality is job one. Besides doing a great job, his crews were just as customer focused as Mike is.

Mike installed flooring for me earlier. Then I got the house painted and didn't like my carpet in the formal area of the house. Called him again on Saturday of last week. New carpeting was installed today. I was afraid the old carpet would have a lot of dirt under it because it was old---Mike assured me that he would be sure the crew cleaned it all up. They arrived this morning and were aware of the need to clean and also aware that the house was newly painted so they were, as promised, very careful with moving the furniture to lay the carpet. They started around 8:30 and were done in time for me to be at work before noon. Good job!

Arrived on time for the estimate with sampled that we had discussed by phone prior to his arrival and promptly giving us a bid that evening by e-mail. He scheduled the installation for the following week and his crew (not a subcontractor) arrived on time. We found his crew neat, hardworking, respectful who were able to cheerfully moved massive amounts of furniture with great care including a kingsized bed. They really worked together as a team and completed installing 130 sg. yards of carpet in less than one day and moved guided by us placed the furniture back in its original location and vacuumed. The repair of the moulding took place the next morning and was done with great care and skill by a different crew. They did an excellent job and their skills were evident as they they installed carpet in the dining and living room with a single piece of carpet when the original installer took more than three pieces to do the same task and was never satisfactory. We will recommend Carolina In Home Flooring highly and appreciate all the care they took with our home.

He was supposed to come and give me an estimate and he never made it over and now he won't answer my phone calls. I took off work for him to come over is the worst part of all. Don't bother calling this company.

The process went well from start to finish. During the initial consultation I didn't feel pressured and was able to chose the perfect flooring pretty quickly. The installers came out on a Saturday and were polite and professional. The new floor has totally transformed the room and overall I'm very pleased with the results.

Before Mike came to my house, I had already received 2 other estimates from similar companies. Mike was punctual and professional and seemed to know his craft well. He was personable and nice and took the time to discuss and review what we wanted. I know of many issues that I have with my existing floor (existing wood cupping for example) and was interested to see if he noticed the many issues I had. I have had a moisture problem in my crawlspace for years and just addressed that last year which is the cause of the cupping floor. My existing floor is also a mix of red oak and white oak and I wanted to see how he would mention that as well as handle that since I am intending on extending the floor to other rooms. These two things are major issues and I had several other issues as well but not as major. He did catch a few things and did mention it to me and if he caught others I was aware of he did not bring it to my attention. That was somewhat of a disappointment in I would expect a true professional to be thorough in his assessment and inform and educate me on his findings. Our desire to have a totally "site finished" installation was sidelined by him as he pushed us towards a pre-finished installation in our bedroom. We had told him we wanted estimates on both pre-finished and site-finished but non were given, another disappointment. The estimate came and my jaw dropped at the price which was $900 higher than the highest bid I received. Integrity, honesty, and professionalism is very important to me in contractor and there are some good contractors around but there are many bad apples that are mixed in. Before I sign a check for a large amount of my hard earned cash, I want to be sure that all is well with the contractor working on my house and he will treat my house and possessions within better than he would if it was his own. I have had some negatives so far here with this company, but I have much more investigation to do on them before I count them out. More to come from my investigation.
