A+ The prep, install, and cleanup were all done better than we imagined. They even matched the hardwood step pedistals color to nearly identical shade of enhanced Cherry flooring we had installed.

The crew that Mike brought in was great overall. They are very hard working and know what they are doing. I think we had the entire house done in about 8 hours. They will move furniture out and into rooms as they go along. Just have all the small stuff and breakables out of the way. We're enjoying the carpet very much, and let's just say that we have tested the stain protection on it several times already. :) Very, very happy with the purchase. Would recommend them to anyone.

Mike came to my house and discussed the options. I told him from the beginning that I didn't think I could afford the whole job, but he found a way to make it work within my budget without it looking like a "budget" job. He was able to schedule the work within the narrow window between when I was planning to do extensive painting and when I planned to move in. I had one other contractor come to my home that insisted that the only way to do anything that would increase my home's value would be to go with real hardwoods at around $9/sf installed. Mike offered laminates that look fantastic for $4.50/sf installed. This made it a project that I could afford. There was the issue of removing the ceramic tile in the kitchen of my open-floorplan house and having a level surface between the kitchen and the main living area. Mike was nervous that this would turn out ok, and let me know his concerns in regard to the surface beneath the tile and their ability to get it all level in the end. This is one area where the other contractor said "No problem," making me worry if I was settling for inferior craftsmanship. In the end, it all appears to have been a non-issue, but if you think you'll have a tricky un-installation and you have other contractors coming to the house for other reasons, you may want to talk to Mike about things, first. They sent two separate installation crews for the laminate and carpet installation. Each crew included two men that arrived on time, called and communicated directly with me, were respectful of the house and the few things within that needed to be moved (Mostly, the refrigerator), and in general did a great job. The final product looks fantastic. I had a co-worker asking for their phone number before the project was even finished.

Carolina In Home Flooring was great to work with. Mike and Martha are part of this. They are very personable and very attentive to your every need. They came and did an estimate on the tear out and the putting in of the new bamboo hardwood floor. After we chose them to do the work, they helped us pick the exact kind of bamboo we wanted. They even dropped off samples at my work place to make it easy for me to choose. After we chose, we found out that the one we chose was not available anymore from the flooring manufacturer, but Martha told us that she could get something comparable at a lesser price. We went with this (she even dropped off another sample) and the entire project was done in a day and a half--just before Thanksgiving. Their team of installers was very responsive, polite and efficient (even humorous!). After the project was completed, Martha brought us a floor cleaning and care kit. We highly recommend Carolina In Home Flooring.

Mike Nelson and his crew did a terrific job on our new floors. Mike showed up on time to estimate the job and his price was competitive with 2 other bids. They started the job on time on a Monday morning and finished that afternoon. On Mike's advice we went with a pre-finished oak flooring and the results were outstanding. The dust was minimal and when Oscar and Sergio left, you could not tell that they had been there. The trim and doorways were finished properly, the joints were tight, and it ended up being the easiest remodeling project that we have ever done.

We called Carolina In Home Flooring for an estimate to install carpeting based upon all the positive reviews on Angie's List. Mike Nelson came to the house very sopn after contacting them with two Shaw carpet lines to review with various densities. He did a measurement of the house and we selected two carpet samples to quote. Mike responded with a quote very quickly. He provided one quote stating the two carpets were about the same price so he just offered a quote for the carpet with a 20 yr warranty and denser (higher face weight). We shopped around and found a sample we liked at Home Depot made by Shaw (Martha Stewart line) as well . Mike was willing came back to the house with the sample of the carpet he had quoted to compare to our Home Depot samples. The primary difference between his sample and the Home Depot was the density. Mike stated the sample he had was 58 oz face weight. The Home Depot was somewhat denser. After looking at other carpeting and getting more quotes, we liked the Shaw brand and narrowed the choice between Carolina In Home Flooring and Home Depot. I asked Mike if his quote had any applicable discounts. He submitted a new quote with a $200 Angie's list discount. We decided to go with Mike's offer given the personal service and product knowledge that Mike showed. The Home Depot quote was slightly more expensive although I did have to pay for the $35 fee to Home Depot for getting the carpet measured and not buying carpet. We notified Mike, signed the quote, and sent the 50% down payment.The carpet was installed the following week at a time convenient to us. The carpet installation went very well. The three man crew arrived on time and stayed until they were done around 9:30pm rather than come back the next day. They were very professional, and industrious, and worked clean although they did leave some carpet staples in the driveway. Mike brought over the paid in full receipt and evaluated the installation. After Mike left, we were looking at the invoice (a copy of what we had signed) we noticed that the carpet mentioned on the receipt did not seem right so we went back and looked at the original quote and it had changed since the first quote. We obviously missed this when he submitted the second quote. We went online to Shaw web site and discovered the carpet that was installed was a 51 oz carpet / 15 yr warranty compared to what had been originally been quoted in the first offer. I contacted Mike and asked why the change and he said he installed what was on the quotation. I asked for clarification and he could not provide an answer except to apologize for the confusion. Our question to him was why would we change from the original carpet quoted (20 yr warranty, 58 oz face weight) especially after seeing the sample of the carpet for a less dense carpet with a 15 yr warranty. He just apologized for the confusion. The carpeting is not sub-standard and the installation was excellent but it is not what was originally quoted and never had any question on what we did wanted. We are disappointed in not getting the carpet expected nor an explanation on why the substitution when the offer was updated.

Mike Nelson's crew did an outstanding job. I had previously refinished the floor in one room and they were able to make it look seamless. I inspected the corners and around the door jams and even under the stairs but could not detect any remaining old stain. I also looked for imperfections from the sanding but could not detect any. The workmen were punctual, very polite and completed the work ontime. I will use them again when it is time to do my first floor.

We contacted Mike at Carolina in September about new carpet for the upstairs of our house. Mike came out to the house within a couple of day, with samples. He explained the options and the different grades of carpet. My wife and I ordered a few samples which we received within a few days. Once we made our choice on color and grade, we worked with Mike to schedule an install date. Mike's crew showed up on time and were very friendly, professional and obviously skilled at their work. We are very pleased with the quality of the carpet, the install job and the entire experience. Mike was great to work with!

As a working professional, time is of great essence and staying home and waiting for vendors to show up is one of the most painful and unfortunately, the most common thing these days. I contacted Mike from Carolina In home flooring and the very next morning we were talking as if we were great friends for years. Mike is extremely amicable and professional. He came on time and came well prepared with many samples for me to evaluate. Prices were great and understanding my rush, we set up a time the following week. What makes a great company is not just the leader, but the people who work for him/her. Mike's folks were VERY thorough. They were so quick that I was able to go back to my work that afternoon instead of taking the day off! We also got some media room carpet replaced the following week with Mike. Great people to work with. Highly recommended.

Went very well. Oscar and Sergei showed up on time on Thursday. They dismantled all the furniture themselves (after we had removed picture frames etc.) and then moved the furniture as they went along installing the floor. They removed the carpet, installed the floor and then reassembled the furniture.

We thought Mike was great. It is so overwhelming to go in a huge store and make a selection. Mike came to our house, asked us about our need and narrowed down our choices. We live in a 2000sf house that we are planning to stay in forever. So we wanted a high quality carpet but not necessarily the same thing you would put in a million dollar house. We are very happey with the option he gave us and we selected the higher grade of the three he offered. He also gave us guidance on the vinyl squares for the master, the runner and the laminate choice. The workers arrived at 8:30am and stayed until 7:30pm. We had two guys and they worked HARD! We got the little things out of the way and they moved the furniture. It was like a new house when they were done. Excellent Work!

I called and first spoke to Martha. I told her our situation and how it was time sensitive. She forwarded me directly to Mike who asked great questions and we scheduled a free estimate appointment for the next day. I actually found someone to do the floors the same day so I called back to cancel the appointment (which I really HATE doing). Martha was SO nice and told me she was just glad we got it worked out in the time we needed. I really appreciated their friendliness and not being like some other companies who get an attitude when you tell them you decided on another option. I will definitely call them in the future. Customer service is EVERYTHING! A+

Mike Nelson was very knowledgeable and professional -- and patient. We met with him on two separate occasions before we could agree on a replacement carpet. The installation took a little longer than we expected - the installers came in at 10 AM and didn't leave until nearly 9 PM. But, the final product was excellent.

Mike and his team were excellent with service and follow up. The team handled furniture removal and replacement, floor repair and installation with professionalism , quality, courtesy and speed. I highly recommend Carolina In Home Flooring.

Mike presented himself professionally and seems like a nice guy and I'm sure he could do a good job. His quote was low (by half) but that quote was not firm and included a T&M (time and material) clause. The actual cost of the job would not be known until he started the project. We choose someone that provided us a firm quote. Low mark is only for not providing a firm quote.

Mike was very congenial and helpful in picking out the flooring to be installed. The workmen were punctual and finished the job in one day - from about 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. The room is approximately 23 x 15. All in all, a very satisfactory experience.

Mike was excellent to work with, accommodating our indecision on materials to be installed without question or complaint, offering advice where asked but never pressing us or trying to upsell. His work crews were always prompt, courteous, friendly, and professional; they took great care in moving our belongings around to perform the installations and cleaned up behind themselves like they weren't ever there when the project was completed. I've already recommended their services to several of my friends, and will not hesitate to continue to do so in the future.

I placed my initial call to Carolina In-Home Flooring in mid-August. I received a call back that same afternoon from Mike Nelson and set a time for him to come by and show us the products available. Mike showed up right on time and listened to what we wanted to do and then showed us all the products that would work for us as well as made other suggestions. Mike was extremely knowledgeable on all products that we asked about. There was no high pressure sales pitch and he listened to what we wanted. He measured the square footage and left promising to send a quote on the products we had selected. Our meeting was on a Friday and we had a quote before the weekend was over. After getting other bids and checking out numerous other products, we decided to go with Mike and Carolina In-Home Flooring. We not only preferred his product, but felt that we would have a positive working relationship. Mike was able to get us into his schedule right away. On the start day agreed upon, the 2 man crew showed up right on time and got straight to work. Oscar and his partner worked until around 7:30 pm or pretty much dusk for two days, with Oscar returning for a few hours on the third day to finish up. I was more than impressed with the work ethic and ability of the install crew. Oscar was able to work with me on several oddities that cropped up (not his fault, but my house's) to my extreme satisfaction. Mike checked in each afternoon after his crew left to see how things were going. After cleaning up over the following few days, I called Mike back to ask if Oscar could come by and fill a few spots. Oscar called before the end of the day and arranged to stop by the next day. He fixed all my issues and actually was patient enough to show me how to do it for the future. My experience with Mike Nelson and Oscar of Carolina In-Home Flooring was extremely positive. I will absolutely call them again for any flooring needs.

I chose this company based on Angie's List recommendations. I dealt with Mike, the owner, who responded quickly to set up an appointment. He did not pressure me, try to upsell me or pull any other kind of nonsense. He listened to what I wanted and brought the appropriate samples and explained them well. When I asked if he could come down on the price some, he worked with me and was quick about it. No long, drawn-out phone tag. He was clear about the whole process and the timeline for getting the carpet installed. His two men showed up on job day and were quick (in a good way) and professional. Job done right, and they cleaned up after themselves and took away the old carpet. You get what you pay for and I would use them again.

Quick response to initial call and appointment to schedule in home estimate. Mike was very helpful in providing all options and did not put any pressure on selection. Work was scheduled when convenient for me. First floor: I had 4 different floorings on the first floor and was replacing them with laminate. Installer was very polite, competent and knowledgeable. Original floorings were torn out and laminate installed. There was a glitch in that 90% of the floor was completed when it was discovered that the last several boxes contained the same color but different wood texture. This caused a delay in finishing the job until the distributor provided the correct flooring. Job was completed to my satisfaction and looked great. Carpeting job was completed in one day. Involved moving two rooms full of furniture - ripping out old carpet and installing new. Standard padding that company uses is 8 lb. No damage to furniture and the carpeting looked great. Very satisfied with everything.

I originally began working with Lowes but became frustrated when they would not call me back. I called Carolina In Home Flooring and Mike came out the same day with samples. He measured and provided me a quote within 24 hours. Once I made my decision, we scheduled an install for the next week. Mike's guys were here when promised. They worked hard and did a fine job. Mike stopped by to check on the project early the first morning. When the job was completed, he called to follow up and make sure all was well, and it was. I would highly recommend Carolina In Home Flooring.

Big job, but the two workers stayed on task all day and finally finished about 6pm. There was a difference of opinion as to the quality of the lowest 5 steps. The carpet did not fall straight as it decended the last 5 steps. The two workers agreed but after trying to resolve, decided to call the owner of the company. He came out the next day. After several perspectives, he concurred it was not straight and agreed to have the last 5 steps replaced. This was done to satisfaction within a couple days. With the exception of that incident, all else was A+.

The final result is very good. We did have to ask for the shoe molding to be sanded again and have another coat, as well as some small touch up on the hand rail. These things were taken care of. We had to be flexible with the scheduling. The price was fair (except I forgot to use the coupon from Angie's List and a reminder would have been nice, hence the B). I'd use them again and/or recommend them.

Excellent work, both in communication and response, and in the installation and hard work which Oscar and his co-worker did. Even when we called after the work was done, when Oscar came back to do some more finishing work at our request, he also did some more cleaning of the adhesive off the hardwood floor. Mik called back to check on our satisfaction and to make sure there were no questions or concerns.

Mike agreed to let me take up the old floor and prep the area for a new one. This further decreased our cost. Raul did a great job and laid the entire floor in one day. He had to go to the warehouse and get some transition pieces but was back the following work day and the job was complete. He was very courteous and polite. I was very happy with the job and the hardwood flooring. I would hire Carolina flooring again for additional work. Nice Job!
