The representative had exactly what we wanted and we arranged for installation right away. Everything went off perfectly.

Job took about 3 hours longer than anticipated (another morning additional) due to tear out of engineered floor much harder than anticipated.Oscar was a great installer and had good people on his crew to help.

Overall job was done well. They had to remove 2 layers of linoleum and cut up the first layer of subflooring in the kitchen which created somewhat of a mess. Removing the laminate in the den was easy enough. They moved the big pieces of furniture around where they were working. We removed everything off of the floor in the closets and pantry so they wouldn't waste time with that. They ran over a day but that was because matching the stain for the molding to the baseboard took some trial and error. But they ended up with almost a perfect match. And they cleaned up almost all of the debris. This was one of our better experiences with getting work performed on our house. I would use them again.

Mike scheduled the estimate, and he was very professional, courteous, and responsive over the phone. On the day of the estimate Martha called me to let me know she was running late, which I greatly appreciated. She was lovely to work with during the estimate and she addressed all of my questions and concerns. She told me that she would have the estimate to me the next day. Four days after the appointment I still hadn't been sent the estimate. I emailed Martha to check on the status, but I never got a reply. A week after the appointment I called the office and spoke to Mike, who assured me that I'd get the estimate shortly. The estimate arrived in my e-mailbox the next day, a week after it was supposed to arrive. There were some aspects of the estimate that were inaccurate / not what Martha and I had discussed. Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews of this company, I was very disappointed with my experience. I chose not to use this company for the job.

Martha was our salesperson. She came out to our home and brought a good variety of carpet samples of different prices after speaking to me on the phone about the type and color of carpet I was thinking about installing. Martha was very friendly, made helpful suggestions, was patient, not pushy, not hurried, was professional, and was easy to work with. I liked having her come to our home with a selection of carpet samples to look at in our home instead of going to a store. We kept several samples to look at in different rooms and in different lighting to make our selection. Martha measured our home for the number of sq. yards needed for our project when she brought out the carpet samples. After we selected a carpet a few days later, Martha emailed me an Estimate of the cost for the carpet, pad, and installation. We had pulled up the old carpet ourselves. From the time we faxed our signed Estimate to Carolina In Home Flooring until the time the carpet was installed was one week. We love the carpet. It's very soft and beautiful. The installers were very professional and did a good job installing the carpet. They finished it all in one day. Martha kept in contact with me by phone and email from start to finish to answer my questions, and came out to the house the day the carpet was installed to check on the installers. I would hire this company again, but have a couple of comments: (1) The Price for the carpet, pad, and installation was quite a bit higher than other estimates that I received from other companies for the exact same carpet. We went with Carolina In Home Flooring because they gave us the Angie's List 25% discount to Senior Citizens. After the 25% discount, their price was the least of the other estimates we received. I would have given them a C on the price, because the price before the discount was about 20% higher than another estimate we received (this other company was having a sale on this particular carpet). However, they get an A for giving us the 25% discount, which saved us a lot of money, so I averaged the Price to a B. (2) The installers were not as careful as they could have been when moving our large furniture to install the carpet. They scraped and dented two places in the wall along the hallway, and slightly damaged two pieces of furniture. Luckily the furniture that was damaged was old, and the painters we hired to paint our upstairs repaired the dents and gouges in the walls.

We have spent several months shopping for replacement flooring. We found the Carolina In-Home flooring staff to be prompt, courteous, patient, and willing to take the time to educate us one the different flooring options available. We settled on a prefinished wood flooring product that was recommended by the staff. The installation crew were efficient craftsmen. At our request they made an extra trip to do the tear-out separately from the install so we could have some other work performed before the floor was laid. During the installation there was a slight miscommunication with how part of the floor was to transition to another room. The crew readily did the slight re-work to meet my expectations. Result – outstanding new wood floor that looks like it came with the house! We have a lot more flooring to go and Carolina In-Home flooring will be who we call. Great Job!

I called and spoke with Mike. He was pleasant and answered all of my questions. Then Martha came out and we picked the hardwood color with her help and advice. The next week Oscar and his crew came out to lay the floors. WOW!! You could not find anyone to lay floors any better than Oscar and his crew. They were informative, respectful and did an amazing clean up at the end of each day! We are ECSTATIC about the floors!! It doesn't get any better than this!!

Martha and Carolina In Home Flooring were fast, responsive and professional. I had Martha come out to give an estimate. She was polite and helpful and was good at giving suggestions without being pushy. It took me a while to make the decision for the different floorings I wanted since I was trying to finish a whole basement and wanted everything to match. Martha was patient through the whole process and sent out multiple samples of carpet and wood to help me figure out what I wanted. When I finally made my decisions the installation was quick and appears to be good quality. There was a small piece of carpeting that was not done the first time because the amount needed was underestimated. Martha said it was their fault, ordered more and had her guys come back out to finish the job without any extra cost. She also tried to help me with the cost and while the whole project was not cheap I think I got my money's worth. Overall I think Martha did a great job helping me pick the flooring I wanted and the team doing the installation did a good job. I would use them again and recommend them to friends and family.

I called this company because of their deal on Angie's List for 899.00 hardwood installed for 150 sq ft. I measured the area I needed done and it was 144 sq ft. I called and spoke with the owner(Mike?) and asked if he could match the flooring I had in the adjoining room. Called him back with the type and name of hardwood I had and he said that would not be a problem. Sent over a very nice, professional sales person, Martha, who measure it as 158 sq ft including a 3 by 3 area she said she would throw in to the deal. The flooring that best matched in terms of type was Bruce with a beveled edge. I thought the color that best matched was Impressions and advised Martha that Mike said that going with Bruce would not be a problem. Martha wrote me an estimate for 899.00. I was willing to give her a 50 % deposit but she said to wait until we can schedule installation. I received an email the next day from Martha with an estimate of almost 1500.00 with the explanation that Bruce was not included in the special. I replied that I would go with the Impressions for 899.00 even though it was not beveled but the color matched better than the Bruce anyway. My budget was no more than 1000.00 and this is why I called them in the first place. Martha replied that it would not be a good idea to use Impressions due to the different edging and then lowered the estimate of the Bruce to approx 1350.00. Also I was not aware that this special did not include removal of vinyl so that was factored in. This was not what I was expecting. I was willing to go with the Impressions but they didn't seemed to want to do it so I just dropped the whole thing I was so disappointed in this whole fiasco and still have no flooring. It seems if the customer is agreeable to the type of flooring it shouldn't matter to the dealer. At first I thought this was a bait and switch, expecially after checking this company's previous jobs (which gave them mostly A's), but almost all of his jobs were in the thousands. I did not see one job for this 899.00 special. However Martha responded with a good explanation and offered to install the Impressions and throw in the vinyl removal as well. We were still mulling it over when Mike called and explained that he does not do "bait and switch" and that he he wanted us to be happy with the outcome and explained there would be a visible difference between the 2 adjoinng rooms but would gladly install the Impressions and vinyl removal for 899.00 if I still wanted it. Although Mike seemed very sincere and his reviews are mostly stellar, our budget was getting tight with all of the other work that is being done to make the house sellable, we have decided to go with tile with a different contractor for a lower price for approx 300 sq. ft. including the powder/laundry room. Perhaps we'll use his services in the future.

We were very pleased with the experience and the results. The representative explained the difference in the kinds of installation - pre-finished & site finished - and showed us examples of the wood with his recommendation for what would look the best with the existing floors in the rest of the house. They promptly sent an estimate for the price, which was slightly less than a previous estimate we had received. Since we decided on a pre-finished wood, the installation was done in half a day. The floor is beautiful - we could not be more pleased! The installers were professional, they cleaned up the work site, and our upstairs hallway matches the wood on the stairway & the rest of the house seamlessly. If we ever decide to replace the carpeting in the bedrooms with hardwood, we would not hesitate to call Carolina In Home Flooring.

This was a big job and the guys worked long hours without complaint each day. The floors look beautiful. We had a few questions and concerns during the construction and Mike understood and worked with us. We will use Carolina In Home flooring again.

The price was pretty good. They were pretty nice and they were reasonable. I felt that they were really trying to help me, not suggesting get this done or that done and altogether quoting a high price. They only told us what they would use, what was the budget and they were pretty good at that.

Overall we were disappointed with the quality of workmanship, especially based on the Angie's List reviews. The laminate product is nice, but the installer ran out of boards and could not finish until another box was ordered; also he ran out of quarterround, but only in the closets so that wasn't as bad. In addition, the laminate installers were rough on existing trim; a baseboard was gashed hard enough to require caulking and repainting; outside, where they were sawing the planks, they set up a saw that chipped away the fresh coat of exterior paint that we'd had put on 6 months earlier. These touch-ups were done by our painters whom we trusted; we did not ask Mike to fix these, because we learned to suspect the quality of work. The carpet jobs went fine, except the color was much lighter than what we were expecting.The ceramic tile was the worst quality installation. We had run into a timing issue when the bathroom remodel was interrupted, but Mike said he could work around that so the ceramic tile went in while there was still some baseboard removed from around the new shower stall. The baseboard was in the bathroom leaning against the wall, and we pointed it out to the installers. But they didn't speak very good English. Instead of putting the baseboard back where they needed to, they installed the tile right up against portions of the wall where there was missing baseboard. Not only that but they took the baseboard pieces and threw them away! Fortunately the contractor could find a matching baseboard and saw it off so as to match and installed it over the tile in those places. But the worst quality is the grout line. If they used tape on the baseboard, it was too high. The grout line is very high on the baseboard and is crooked. It looks terrible and I hoped my painters could straighten it out with paint. But because the grout is a gritty type, my painters say they cannot paint over it so it would look decent. We are left with a really bad looking tan grout line against a white baseboard. It looks worse than a do-it-yourselfer job. Overall, we were very disappointed that installers who did not speak good English were sent to do this work without hardly any supervision by Mike or anyone else from Carolina In Home Flooring. We learned that you get what you pay for.

Mike and his staff were extremely responsive, professional & we're so happy with their work. Very clean install, looks & feels excellent underfoot - exceptional cleanup as well. I emailed for a quote @ 2/7, so just a little over a week turnaround from first call to installation - thrilled with the quick turnaround time.

The installers showed up right at 8am and worked to finish the entire job by 7:30pm that night. They did an outstanding job. The carpet looks wonderful. Mike and Martha were very helpful, and answered every question I had regarding the cost, installation process, and carpet care. I would work with them again, anyday.

The project went very well. The workmen showed up on time, were very professional and worked in a very safe manner. We are very pleased with the quality of workmanship, the product and the outcome. The nice thing about Carolina In Home Flooring is that Mike Nelson has a mobile showroom. You do not have to bring samples back and forth to his place of business. Mike is very thorough and followed up to make sure we were satisfied with the job. We would definitely recommend Carolina In Home Flooring to our family and friends.

We found this company on Angie's List. Martha came around and showed us samples, and then sent us a quote. She also alerted us to the fact that the hardwood suppliers were having a sale, and this lowered the price. Based on the very reasonable overall cost and very favorable reviews on Angie's List, we felt no need to get second or third quotes, and told this company to go ahead. Oscar and his colleague redid the floor just a few days later within a single day. The wood was beautiful and I thought they did a great job. However, my detailed-oriented artist wife thought the finishing could have been better (minor gaps were not filled in). She was reluctant to call the company because she thought she was being too nitpicky, but I could see it was bothering her, so I urged her to call them to voice her concerns. They were extremely responsive to her concerns, and MIke (the owner) came out the following morning to inspect, and acknowledged that Oscar could have spent an extra 20 minutes or so to finish it off better. Oscar came back a couple of hours later and painstakingly went over every square inch of the floor and finished it beautifully -- he even caulked some areas that had nothing to do with the flooring. The result is that now the floor positively gleams, and my wife is very happy! We really appreciated the responsiveness of this company to our concerns, and would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to install hardwood floors.

Our e-mail request via Angie's list, brought a prompt response, and we set up an appointment to have Martha and Mike come and give us an estimate. They arrived when they said they would in a spiffy van with lots of flooring and ceramic options from which we chose our flooring and fireplace surround. We also got 2 other estimates and, while Carolina In-Home Flooring was not the cheapest, we chose them because they could do the complete job (flooring and fire-place) start-to-finish and we were impressed with the level of professionalism they exhibited during the negotiations. They did not disappoint. Oscar and Sergio and Mike's tile crew did an excellent job. They were prompt, professional, efficient, and did a great job of clean-up. We are thrilled with the result and would highly recommend this company.

Martha came out fairly quickly after our initial contact through Angie's List. We were able to choose our flooring and she was very helpful and knowledgeable with the materials and suggestions. Initial we had decided on laminate throughout which meant in the bathrooms, but later decided to go with the ceramic tile. Martha made the changes with no problems and reluctance at all. She sent me several updated estimates which we appreciated. Since we are eventually having our entire flooring replaced, the bathrooms were a smaller portion of the overall job. Carolina In-Home Flooring has been very flexible in letting us do the jobs in different phases that we are comfortable with. We had a minor issue in our Master Bath where the caulking around the bath tub and shower was a little darker than my wife and I were comfortable with, and Martha and the crew came right out and fixed it with no hesitation and now it looks great. Now we are really looking forward to moving on to the rest of the house. So far it's been a great experience!

Very nice, responsive and tidy. Loved that Mike has a 'showroom van' so I could pick out my carpeting at work. Will choose this company for my next flooring project. Great product selections and quick install.

They responded quickly to emails and set up a time to do an estimate. I received the estimate the same day. The installation was done precisely as described and performed well above expectations. My floors look amazing and I am thrilled with the job they've done. I even received a follow-up call to make certain that we were satisfied with the work. They even included replacement boards in case of future damage. They really care about the work they do and it shows. I'd absolutely recommend them to anyone in the area.

Went to Angie's list and chose two companies for estimates. Chose Carolina In Home Flooring for three reasons: 1) more competitive price 2) installation time four days vs nine days by competitor. This is because Carolina In Home Flooring uses sealed hardwood, which can be installed immediately. Unsealed (or raw hardwood) must sit in the home for five days acclimating to temperature/humidity before installation can begin. By using Carolina In Home Flooring, our job was done in four days and we were back in our bedroom. Had we used the other vendor, using raw hardwood, we'd have been out of our bedroom nine days. A huge difference !! 3) Carolina In Home Flooring agreed to help me move our king size bed, which I couldn't do myself, which the other vendor would not do. Mike, the owner, was right on top of the operation during the entire process. He stopped by on day one, stopped by mid-way and stopped by on the last day to ensure I was satisfied with everything. There were no offensive fumes because the polyurethane finishes are water based. Water based finishes also dry fast, in about 2hrs. There was also very little dust, and what little dust there was, the crew was continually vacuuming up. This was a very big job. However, the experienced and professional crew at Carolina In Home Flooring made it look easy. I would not hesitate to use Carolina In Home Flooring again and would strongly recommend them to anyone.
