When they called me, two days later, they told me they couldn't get to my problem until the following week. I finally had to find someone on my own. All of the pros I called, either said it would be the following week they could help me or never returned my call.

terrible, they lied about the price, financing, everything. i was told it would be a 3-4 hr job, when the techs got there they were mad because they said it would be an all day job. they failed to put down protectors on my floors, ruined the floors in the laundry room and my 100 yr old wood. put holes and scratches in the floors, door, walls. outside put in the wrong pipes to the outside, my heat froze up, no heat for several days, tech was supposed to come back and replace pipes but never showed up, refused to return phone calls. under the house, cut out the entire entire vent, that goes from the dryer to the outside of my house, left trash under the house, ripped out the insulation under the house. i had a mouse that got in for the holes left under the house in the dryer vent, chewed through the dryer vent inside my house, my dryer does not work. when they removed the heating unit from the wall, they either dropped it or did not wire it correctly, have had problems with that, no heat most of the winter, was told it was cracked, would cost over 3500 to replace. i never had problems with my heating unit for over 17 yrs til they did their work. i called them over 30 times, never returned phone calls. was told at the beginning they would fix everything, never did, sent over 5 people out to give estimates, the company still refused to get the work done, the work was estimated at over 10k and that was before i found out about the heating unit and the dryer. so i estimate the damages now at close to 20k. i wrote 2 letters, Johnson finally showed up because he would never return phone calls. i was told at the beginning, they would fix everything, give me 3 free check ups, never did, extend the warranty 4 yrs, not done. when johnson and ral mgr came out, said would only repair floor in laundry room and paint, nothing else. i have reported them to other agencies, i want their license revoked. they are the worst company. in addition, the unit they put on the outside of my house is damaged. i have over 10 pictures of the damages.

The Technician was very knowledgable and matter of fact. Gave me options for resolution that allowed me to determine cost/risk for various levels of repair. I would highly recommend them and will certainly call on them again if needed.

Cape Fear Heating and Cooling came by and restarted the pilot light on my gas heating unit. I also had him check everything to determine if the unit was ok. Because I had gotten a deal from Angie's list for a $29 service call, I expected him to find some other things that needed to be "fixed" to boost the cost of the visit. But he did not. He was honest and said everything else looked fine. I was very impressed with the honesty and professionalism. Unfortunately, I don't remember the guy's name. Thank you!

These guys were great. The price was more than fair. They arrived as scheduled and did a thorough inspection. Did not seek to do work that did not need to be done. Would definitely hire again for a yearly service and will go to for future work.

I set up an appointment for a quote from Cape Fear based on a recommendation from a neighbor, and Justin came on time (he actually called and asked if it would be OK if he came early). He was easy to work with, seemed very knowledgeable, and very thorough as he looked at my current setup and discussed the various options for replacement. I liked some of the recommendations he made as far as adjusting some of the duct routing to ease air flow. I decided to have him quote a 2-ton Trane XL16c packaged AC / Gas Furnace unit and XL16c hybrid (AC and gas furnace / heat pump), which was brand new at the time - it wasn't even in their system yet. When I was provided with a quote, the paper listed the 3-ton unit since the 2-ton unit was so new, but Justin assured me that the price was for the 2-ton unit. I received another quote for the same unit from a different company, and the price was significantly lower. So, I went back to Justin and asked him to double check the price. He did confirm that the price listed on my quote was for a 3-ton unit and provided a new number for the 2-ton unit, but I was left with a bad feeling over what would have happened if I hadn't received a competitive quote and questioned them. Also, the other company I dealt with talked with the Trane rep, and stated while the XL16C gas pack was available in a 2-ton unit, the hybrid unit (with gas furnace and heat pump) was not available in a 2-ton unit. This quote process was at the end of December, and they offered an extra $500 off if we would install before the end of the year. Would they have taken the money for a 3-ton unit and only delivered a 2-ton unit, or would they have realized the error when I went to pay and said 'we quoted you the wrong price'? If I ordered the hybrid unit and paid for a 2-ton unit, what would have been delivered? These could have been honest mistakes or not - I really have no way of knowing. In the end, I didn't feel comfortable with the way the quote process went, so I decided to go with another vendor.

I called them on Saturday morning, and they said someone would call me back as soon as possible. I called later on, around 4pm that day, and they said again, someone would get back to me as soon as possible. It is now Wednesday, and never a call. Glad that Volt Doctors was available and helped us out! Do not call them if you need service "quickly".

Only 1 ballast was removed. The technician, who I am guessing is sub-contracted, told me that he hadn't done it before and would have to look it up on youtube. There was also some confusion with the bulbs that I had purchased as well, which admittedly ate up some of the time. The company was very responsive to my concerns when I called about the appointment and we were able to resolve the issue. I would be willing to work with the company again based on their willingness to make things right.

They were prompt, courteous and revealed a problem from previous work! Was able to get that corrected at no additional cost from the previous contractor. Good outfit! I paid an additional $10 when the technician completed the inspection.
