It went pretty well. Only thing was that the salesman who came by to discuss the job and offer a quote was rude to my wife while I had to step away for a moment. I might not have chosen this company if my wife had told me about it immediately. However, everything else went smoothly.

Fairly well. The customer service manager (Tim, I believe) wasn't the friendliest. My wife says he was rude to her. But, they offered a great price through an Angie's Deal, and installation went smoothly.

It went fine, they did a good job and they were on time. They were very professional and my A/C is working properly.

They were great; I'll be recommending them to others.

Chris arrived at the time I was told. From the moment he stepped out of the van he was polite and very friendly. He asked me what the problem was and he checked it out and fixed it. He explained the problem to me in a way that i could understand (i'm not great about electrical stuff) I would say that his people and service skills are top notch.

The technician Frank Mashione was on time, courteous, and ensured he explained any deficiencies found to me. He took the time to contact the manufacturer and provided me information about a part that was still under warranty while providing me information reference routine servicing.

They showed up the same day we called to inquire about the offer on Angie's List and whether or not it would cover everything we needed. He was very professional and scheduled us for the following Tuesday. They showed up on time Tuesday and completed the work in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this company!

Cape Fear Air were OUTSTANDING - my trusty 28-year-old Trane AC unit finally bit the dust (compressor failure) and I had seen the deal they were offering for a replacement 3-ton Trane 14 SEER unit and decided to give them a try. I am very glad I did, their Project Manager (Tim) came out the same day I called them to help me understand the process and also quoted on ductwork badly needing replacement in the attic plus a 'whole-home' air-scrubber I had been considering. The total quote was very reasonably-priced and sealed the deal for me - they arrived the following Friday at 9.30am as planned, and I had cold air blowing in my house again by 2pm with the entire job (including complete replacement of ductwork in the attic) done by 4pm. They were extremely professional, polite and cleaned up after themselves thoroughly. In short, I cannot recommend Cape Fear Air highly enough and if my old Furnace goes the way of my original AC, they will be the first to hear from me for a replacement unit. A+++ / 5 Stars!

They came out to size and estimate cost the same day I called. They were prepared to install the next day, but worked around our scheduling needs. Each person I spoke to was professional and thoroughly walked me through the process. The coordinated the inspection that was required for the change to R410a per new code and handled the paperwork. I have recommended them to my neighbors and would recommend them to others as well!

After one hiccup with scheduling the technician showed up on time. Service was performed as advertised. He was pleasant and professional.

I don't think I could have had a better experience. The provider, Jim, was very hands on. He was was very knowledgeable and gave me tips on things I should look for in the future. He was punctual and arrived right at 8 am.

Nothing needed to be replaced, it just had to be removed and cleaned. The Freon was fine. The humidity was not a problem that needed to be remedied, and I didn't have to upgrade the system as once it's working, it's fine. The first tech from another company was young and less experienced. While he ultimately would have fixed the problem, he was going to make me spend a lot more money than was necessarily. I'm glad he didn't have the replacement part on him, or I may have allowed him to replace the part that just needed cleaning. I'm so happy I called Cape Fear and they send someone who knew how to fix it on the spot and not cost me an arm and a leg. Would recommend highly.

Gave a great detailed evaluation of the system

4/29: Rep arrived, checked out system and provided estimate for replacement… we signed contract. We specifically asked what time the crew would be here and were told 0800 (btw 0800 and 0830) 5/2: no show or call at 0900…were told 2 crews would be here at 0800, so called Cape Fear office. I was told Laura from Raleigh office would call me back. About 1/2 hr later, my husband called me because they called his cell (he was in TX) and apologized. 0930: 2 guys (Billy & Eddie) showed up (no apologies) and said that rest of crew was up at Raleigh office picking up the equipment, but that they would work in basement to get things ready for them. 1039: 2 more guys arrived to work upstairs on the attic furnace. I led them upstairs and showed them where it was. 5:30pm: finally finished; thermostats both installed, operation explained, and set at my desired cool/heat temps. 5:45pm: Billy came back to cut the barcode tags off the thermostat boxes…said they put those numbers in the system to make sure we get our warranty. 5/3: Billy and Eddie returned to install 2 carbon monoxide monitors and a GFI outlet 5/4: Cape Fear electrician inspected system…fuses in basement sub-panel incorrect; replaced 2 breakers…now good to go. 5/6: We were given the permit and told the county will contact us to schedule the final inspection. 5/25: County inspection completed. Everyone was personable and professional and the Trane system is working extremely well.

Working with Tim and Stephen was exceptional from the start. We got an appointment for a quote for a complete A/C replacement on a Friday and they came on the following Thursday to do the work. The price was very reasonable/competitive and when Stephen came to do to the work he was diligent, professional, and offered "above and beyond" information about the system and which filters we should use to best utilize the system. Stephen replaced our (embarrassingly) old filters and even replaced a return vent that would no longer close. When we needed service due to a breaker being tripped, not only did we get service the same day but Tim (the manager) called me to follow up, Stephen came at 5pm on a Saturday, and stayed with us, to make sure the system was working optimally. At no point did I feel pressured for a sale and everyone at the company is professional and caring. There is no other company I would use for our heating and cooling needs.

The technician, Stephen, worked very hard. We had scheduled him late in the day and he had not realized we had three units. He stayed very late that night and came back early the next. Stephen is very knowledgable and careful and provided numerical analysis to go along with his opinions. It was easy to understand he was being truthful about what we needed and he did not fix a couple of items that could last another year. I enjoyed my experience with Cape Fear and will have them out again next year.

He gave me an awesome price! I had no idea what was wrong with my unit, and he came in and told me that I had it set to FAN and not AUTO. I wasn't sure why it mattered and he explained it all to me. He even gave me a discount due to being an Angie's List member. It WOULD have been $160, but he just charged me $49. There was nothing wrong with the unit or anything, but he did clean it for me.

Let me first start off by saying that I am a young, single woman who moved into her first home less than a year ago. That will hopefully give you some context for the extent of my knowledge when it comes to HVAC units. As with anything, I am always extremely worried about being taken advantage of because of my age and lack of experience. I called Cape Fear after the first company I contacted recommended that I replace the entire system because it was extremely low on Freon, which caused the motor to over heat, which broke the blower and the compressor (According to him). He told me that I could fix it but it would cost $1000 in Freon, $2200 for a new compressor, $1200 for a new motor, and $700 for a new blower. I won't say who this provider was, but let's just say they are the only ones in the area with 3k plus reviews. Anyway... I was a little skeptical with his explanation for what went wrong and intuition told me something was off, so I called for a second opinion. I wasn't impressed with Cape Fear's after hours calling service. The woman was extremely rude to me and I almost didn't use them because of that. However, the woman who called me the next day was extremely friendly, so I decided to give them a chance. I'm so glad I did. They were able to send someone out that day! I wasn't about to drop 6k lightly. Stephen Rardon came out to my property and showed up 30 minutes early (He called first to make sure this was okay). He was EXTREMELY pleasant through out our entire interation. I could immediately tell he was being honest with me. Stephen didn't know that I had someone else on the property, so his diagnosis was completely independent of that. He determined that the only thing wrong with my HVAC, aside from it being 21 years old, was that the motor had gone bad, which stopped the blower from working. He told me that he could replace the motor for $500ish and clean it for $50 and that I should be able to get another year or two out of it. He told me absolutely no Freon was needed and that the blower and the compressor were all working fine. Stephen had the motor on hand, so he replaced it then and there. After a few hours, my HVAC was back up and running. Stephen came in and walked me through the results of the testing he did and advised me that one part may need to be changed in the future, but that everything was working for now. He didn't try to upsell me or use scare tactics to get me to buy anything I didn't need. He provided suggestions of when I should have him back out to look at the unit before the winter and what to expect for replacement in the future. I wish more companies would realize that being honest not only gets you the immediate business, but it secures future business was well. Cape Fear has a lifetime customer as long as they continue to employ technicians like Stephen.

We were very impressed by how thorough and professional the technician from Cape Fear HVAC was. He arrived on time and completed an extensive review of our A/C to help us determine whether or not we had a problem, and if so, how bad the problem was. After completing the analysis he took the time to walk us through his findings, and was great about explaining some of the more complex issues to us. Stephen should be commended for his professionalism. For the first time in a long time we feel like we understand what was done, what we should be on the look out for, and what the logical next steps are.

Technician was thorough, efficient, honest. Did not replace unit when parts would get us another couple of years out of the unit. Others suggested immediate replacement. Others suggested leaking components when there was no leak found.

Provided excellent time coordination and contact prior to arrival. Phone Staff very friendly and attentive. Arrived promptly on time w/professional demeanor, and performed efficient analysis of HVAC unit. All in all an excellent service for the money!

It went very well actually. It was shortly after, within two or 3 weeks. So, yeah, I was very pleased. I would give A's across the board. The names were David and John. They were very cordial, happy to engage, answered any questions and offered advice on a different filter that they recommend to maintain my system most efficiently. I was impressed by all that. I would use them again. They were very prompt to call me after submitting the...within a day I received a call which was great.
