I purchased a AC tune up and fully expected to be a 15 minute job. Over 3 hours later the technician had cleaned and performed and entire diagnostic assessment of the 2 units. One unit had some serious damage, where he took about 10 photos. On the invoice he noted everything in full detail, including highly probable risks. He then provided a DropBox link with all of this information. As far as I am concerned, they have my service as long as I am in this area.

Amazing, we used to be unable to deal with any level of heat on the second floor because our HVAC unit wasn't able to deliver the air it was rated for. Stephen is amazing guy, and absolutely knows his trade. He worked the math and did the physical work to deliver the air to the right places and change the entire level of comfort in the house. Amazing change, and it's hard to describe the level of detail the team put into the effort. Well worth the money, and these guys are absolute pros.

AC went out around 9am. Called Cape Fear and they said we was second in line to receive a technician. Well it's 7pm and no tech has called. I'm not going to give them a bad review since it's Saturday and hot. Just not my day.

Stephen arrived exactly on time and performed the work necessary in a very timely fashion. He had to work outside in the hot sun for more than three hours, but every time I looked outside he was busy working. I purchased the maintenance program for the fall, which gave me a discounted price on the work done, plus a future service call. Would definitely call them again for HVAC needs.

Both instances have been very good experiences. I have liked both of the technicians who were sent out to the home and repairs were done quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend this company

Excellent. Steven worked up in the 100 degree attic and repaired the unit there, then went outside in the heat and high humidity and cleaned that unit. We had a cool upstairs by nighttime.

They did a thorough an hou long testing and explained to me patiently about their test result to me.

Well -- We entered into a service contract as well, and this has worked out to our satisfaction.

Responded to email request via Angie's List within an hour. Scheduled appt for 2 to 4 PM same day. Technician, Stephen arrived promptly at 2. Found the problem with AC and had unit running in 30 minutes. Checked entire Gaspack and pointed out some areas of concern, items that might need attention before heating season. Great information with no heavy sales pitch.

I had Cape Fear come out for a second opinion because the company my home warranty company sent out was a joke (Comfort Wizards by the way). It was night and day difference with Cape Fear. Eddie(?) truly checked every part of the A/C unit, both in the attic and outside. He was very nice and patient with me watching and asking questions. I eventually decided to just get a new heater and A/C unit and got 5 or 6 different quotes. Cape Fear was tied for the lowest price. I normally go with the middle price quotes, but I was so impressed with the inspection and service provided by Cape Fear that I decided to go with them. The two men that replaced my unit were pretty young, which worried me a little, but it's been 3 weeks and I'm very happy with how everything is running so far.

Originally had someone come do a tune-up, thinking it would solve my AC problem where it sounded like a helicopter was in my house. It turns out the stuff under my house fell apart and I needed new duct work and AC unit. I got an estimate to get everything done, we went over my options and I chose the best one to suit my needs: 2.5ton 16seer Trane. Everything was installed in 2 days. The only issue is that it worked for a few days, stopped, had someone come fix it, it stopped working again, and had to have it fixed again. It turned out to be a coil issue. They cleaned up after themselves and explained how everything worked with my new thermostat.

Work went well. The estimator was rude to my wife while I was out of the room for a few minutes. If I had known beforehand, I probably would not have signed the contract. However, the team did a great job.

The sales representative that came was rude to my wife when I had left the room momentarily. If I had known, I would not have signed the contract. But, the install team and all other interactions with the company were smooth and professional.

Service was excellent! I scheduled my appointment through Angie's List for the first available date. But when the service representative from Cape Fear Air Conditioning called me, she was able to fit me in the same day! It was very appreciated by me and my family, one less day to suffer without AC! The work performed was excellent! The technician was able to diagnose the problems, which turned out to be a blown fuse, frozen coils, and low Freon. Within an hour, he had my Central air unit operational!

We bought a coupon for a diagnosis, and they scheduled the time with us and came out when they said they would. They diagnosed the problem pretty quickly and fixed it right then and there for a reasonable price. We're definitely happy with their service!

TERRIBLE! Called and got answering service at 11am. I stated that our a/c wasn't working and needed a service call. By 12:30, no one had called, so I called again. Same answering service. She stated my message had been delivered but they were having a busy day. I explained that I totally understood if they couldn't fit me in today but I just needed to know so I could call someone else- by this time it was 85 degrees in my house. The lady from the answering service said she would deliver the message. By 3:00, still not even a return call. Thanks for the wasted day.

very well. very responsive customer service, on time for appointment, honest review and recommendations (replacement of filter), reasonable charges. Highly recommend.
