+ -1 moreI had to call them for minor issue, a technician came within hours. We had this new unit for almost 6 month, VERY pleased. They even registered the AC unit with Trane for us and gave us a free furnace check (the furnace was not replaced).
Description of Work: We needed to replace AC 2 Ton Unit and found this deal over $1,000 cheaper than other quote. They installed Trane unit as scheduled, good professional work, they did more than expected !.. town inspection confirmed the work was well done.

It was a small hassle, as I had to move all furniture to provide access to vents, and the crew left a few vent covers off when they finished their work...but we have an older home and we don't know how well the previous owners maintained it. After the duct cleaning, we had one air return that was actually whistling because it was finally able to move air through, I guess. It must have been clogged previously, so I am glad that we had the cleaning done. Crew was very nice.

They not only replaced the old unit (including the attic unit), but ran new piping and made sure it blended in to the exterior of the house. We got an Angie's List deal as well, so the price was very good! It even came with a complimentary fall tune up. I would highly recommend them in the future.

+ -1 moreSo far it hasn't. Either they deliver the unit at a price reflecting the delay or refund my downpayment with interest or we will be going to court.
Description of Work: Put a downpayment on a 2 ton AC unit on September 23rd, to get a better price through Angie's List posted offer. They have collected the money but not once contacted me about actually installing the unit and it is now October 24th. This is fraud.

Description of Work: AC was not working. Had a totally different service provider come out and they misdiagnosed the system. That is when we called Cape Fear, which we should have done from the beginning. They accurately diagnosed the problem and replaced the transformer and added refrigerant.

Project Manger said he will give quote on Monday (he came saturday) I was informed on Monday that they cant honor Angies list deal which was 1500 of regular price (4200 worth 2 ton system at 2699 was Angies list deal and it said deal value can applied to higher tonnange system) In a 4700$ 3.5 ton system Capefear said they can give discount of 1000 only as they said Angies list deal does not apply to my system though I pointed out the wording that it does apply to Angies list deal. I compalint to Angies list about this and did not receive a reply from them.

+ -1 moreThey are a very above board company and were extremely upset that the technician had made a mistake. He's human, mistakes happen, but they quickly attempted to rectify their error. I have a regular A/C repair man, but I would use Cape Fear again if I had an emergency. I trust them and I know that even when they really didn't have to, they stood by their quality and rectified an error. After the call and how they dealt with my complaint, I rate them highly in every aspect, but I still have to grade them down for quality. They did miss the issue which could have cost me significant money I didn't need to spend.
Description of Work: This is an update to a previous review I had posted. After my negative review I received a call from David at Cape Fear who was very upset that my issue was misdiagnosed. He asked me to explain what had happened and I explained everything that went on as I discussed in my previous post. I told him that his technician was polite and professional, but he missed the real issue. However, I was very grateful to him for a least rigging the system so I had air conditioning for a very hot weekend until the real repairs could take place on Monday. David was extremely apologetic and refunded my money back for the whole call. I told him that though I appreciated his offer, the fact that I had air conditioning for the weekend was worth money to me. He insisted and he refunded the full weekend emergency charge I had paid.
