I went back and pick up the clock, paying $225 (personal check). I put clock on the wall and it ran fast. I attempted to use the adjustment control and it felt very loose--much, much looser than before I took the clock in. I called Mr. Brown who said bring it in; he could adjust on the spot. When I took the clock back in, he noted that four screws on the face of the clock were missing--as if I had removed the face! I responded that the clock was exactly as it had come out of his shop. He then said "let's see what we have." He examined the adjustment mechanism and said it was an original bad clock design. The brass adjustment screw would no longer hold its position. His answer was to guess about where the adjustment was previously and tightened it down. However, if I use the adjustment, it will come loose again. So--I took my clock in for adjustment--which I now know from him--is not possible! Plus, Mr. Brown "cleaned my clock!" He did thank me as I left and invited me to come back "any time."

Everyone has that one item that you want to see work again even though the cost of repair is more than the value of the item. In my case it is a cuckoo clock that belong to my mother given to her by her sister. Both now gone due to cancer. This cuckoo clock has seen 6 clock makers since my mother's passing(one even kept it for a whole year) .All said the same. - They haven't made clock like this in over 30 years, we can fix the clock and the cuckoo but it will never play again. Even the owner of this establishment told me the same. Yet he took the time to really look at my clock and was able to do short of a miracle. Now my cuckoo clock function as it did when it was my mother's. And to add to this grandeur they were able to duplicate the pendulum and removed over 40 years of dirt and grime. My only negative is that he sells a number of beautiful vintage clocks and I would love to get one of the grandfather clocks before his sale ends. But who knows karma has been very kind to me lately.

We were having trouble for a couple of years with our Howard Miller Grandfather Clock. It would slow down and stop working. He knew what to do. It was not exactly balanced despite our repeated attempts, plus the clock needed oiling. He came on time, did the work as promised and got the clock running. He gave us a lot of good advice, and I felt the service call was worth every penny. I would recommend him to others.

Mr. Brown was able to identify the problem right away. Completed the work earlier than estimated. After taking a clock home, there were issues with the clock running that arose after transportation. I had to visit his shop a few times as the problem was inconsistent, but Mr. Brown was very patient and tried to locate a reason for malfunction. Eventually, he did, and my clock is running perfectly.

From the very first call, Mr. Brown was knowledgeable and professional. He was upfront with pricing and provided options for us from which to choose. He fixed our clock in a timely manner and on pickup day, he explained thoroughly how our clock now worked. The next day I had some questions about the chiming mechanism and when I called him he walked me through the details that proved to solve my problem immediately. Great overall experience

I had a old clock that has a pendulum and it rings every 15 minutes and on the hour. It was not working and it was French made. He was able to replace it with a similar piece which no one could tell the difference and it works great.

Excellent service. Was very knowledgeable about the clock and knew exactly what it would need done to it as soon as he took a look at it. Quoted two weeks, and was done in about half that time. Clock sounds better than ever.

Inherited an older wall clock that would no longer wind up. The owner took a quick look and offered to fully refurbish. The repair cost was likely higher than the clock's value but the sentimental value trumped this decision and I do not regret having the clock returned in fully functional condition.

Mr. Brown arrived early for my appointment, and determined rather quickly that my empire grandfather clock had stopped due to a gear that had worn out. He advised me of several choices, and that it would require the clock being brought into his shop for repair. Estimated cost of repair was between $700-$800, which I thought was excessive. He didn't explain the amount of time it would take to take apart the clock to substantiate this cost. I told him that I wanted to wait, and he oiled my clock, and told me to let me know what I wanted to do. The clock did start, and at this time is still running.

The owner was very nice. Did a fine job. But it took a very long time to get it fixed and then his hours made it very difficult for me to get there to pick it up. I even left work early one day but when I got there he had closed shop early! So if you're in no particular hurry and can leave during normal work hours to get to the shop, he will do a good job.

The experience went very well. It was fairly thorough going over than replace parts or anything like that but cleaning, adjusting, did the repair for one of the things that had come loose. They are excellent, excellent quality and good price. They are very professional and knowledgeable.

Took longer than promised by several weeks because the provider lost track of parts that were to be shipped into his store because of misidentification. Price paid was exactly price quoted, but still seemed high to me. But the clock works fine, so that's the major outcome.

Both of my clocks had been moved multiple times and neither one was keeping time well. The cuckoo clock had actually stopped working. This business performed a miracle on the clocks. Both are keeping time as good as new!

They are kind of old school. The fellow who owns the shop is very knowledgeable and fixed the problems that I had. His price was reasonable, he got the work done on time and the watches are still working; he did a good job.

We had a regulator clock cleaned and repaired. The service was performed promptly and at a fair price. As always the staff was very knowledgeable.

I took my first clock in to see what he could do with it and he told me in detail what he could and couldn't do. He is an old-time craftsman who takes care with each clock and gets them running on time. His shop is a wonder and he also makes house calls for Grandfather clocks.
