I came home at 8:00 after AC system check earlier in the day upstairs AC unit was not functioning. They came and worked until midnight to restore service.

Sales technician was professional and courteous. He thoroughly explained all of my options for HVAC replacement as well as various service and warranty options. The installers were punctual and professional. The final product looked clean and finished. The installers showed me how to operate the programmable thermostat. A quality assurance technician visited my home after the installation to ensure that the system was running properly. The sales technician followed up on the installation to deliver the final paperwork and ask me if I had any questions. All personnel wore protective covers over their shoes whenever they entered my home. The new HVAC works great and I am very happy with the service I received from start to finish.

First the positive points, the service technician arrived on time and was polite throughout the service call. He did appear to want to help me sort out the problem. Unfortunately the rest of the service call and subsequent estimate was horrible. When the service technician arrived he immediately began looking at the heat exchanger rather than looking for the short. When I questioned what he was doing he explained that if the heat exchanger was cracked then it would have to be replaced and he would be unable to continue working on the system until that was replaced. He said the heat exchanger would cost between $1300 and $1900 to replace if it was cracked. He then pulled the cover off the unit and pointed to several areas that he felt were cracked on the heat exchanger. I asked him what else was wrong with the unit as the heat exchanger had nothing to do with the short I had called him about. He then explained that it would cost approximately $100 to find the short and diagnose the problem but that he could not do so if the heat exchanger was cracked as he was supposed to stop working on the unit at that point. I explained that I would not know if it was reasonable to repair the heat exchanger if I did not also know how much it would cost to repair the short in the unit and that I needed an estimate on what the total cost to repair the unit would be. After some discussion he said he would attempt to locate the short. He then found the wiring was bad to the unit and that the thermostat needed to be replaced. He said it was up to me but that he would replace the unit and that he thought a new unit would be $6k. He then contacted the shop and got an estimate for putting in a new heat exchanger, low voltage wiring, and a thermostat. The estimate was approximately $1500! Here is a rough estimate of the costs: Replace heat exchanger - $1050 Replace low voltage wire - $100 Replace Thermostat - $229 Replace 3 AMP Fuse - $18 The estimate did not break down parts and labor but instead combined them so there was no way to know how much I was paying for parts versus labor. The one thing that really stuck out on the estimate was $18 for the 3 AMP fuse. This is the same fuse you can purchase 5 for $2.99 at Autozone. I asked the technician about the huge markup on the fuse and he said all the pricing comes from a master book the company has. I paid the service technician for the estimate and decided to do a little more research. I was not at all happy to have paid over $150 just to find out what the problem was and I did not want to get further ripped off. I looked up the heat exchanger part number online and found the retail price of the heat exchanger was $360! This company was going to charge me $800 labor just for the heat exchanger replacemant (2 hours work) and that assumes they are buying the repair parts at full retail price! When I called the company and asked them how they could justify charging $18 for a 50 cent fuse the company representative stated the rest of the cost was "labor" for inserting the fuse in the slot. I am amazed they were able to say that with a straight face. I contacted another company to confirm the estimate and they said the heat exchanger did have two very small cracks and that it needed to be replaced. They found the short within 10 minutes of arriving and repaired the unit the same day for half the cost Blanton's quoted me. I believe Blanton's Heating and A/C deliberately went after the heat exchanger immediately rather than diagnosing the short in an attempt to scare me into paying for a very large estimate. I believe thier estimate was grossly inflated and designed to hide the fact that they were trying to gouge me. Had I not made a number of phone calls and double checked I would have paid the inflated bill. I will never do business with this company again and I would strongly urge anyone else to beware.

I really didn't need my HVAC looked at and they charged me for it. They couldn't do what I wanted them to and did something totally different. They came in and said they didn't do those kind of things. My HVAC system is newer and didn't need to be checked out. They did resolve this because I called and complained to them. They sent a supervisor out and he checked over the house again. They were timely and came out when they said they were coming out. It could have been a miscommunication all the way but I don't think it was. Their price was in line with everyone else around here. Their responsiveness was good.

We would highly recommend Blanton to anyone seriously considering updating or replacing their heat and air. We worked with Jeff from the first phone call through the completion of the project. He gave us plenty of options to choose from and clearly explained the features and benefits of each choice. We are extremely satisfied with the results and would highly recommend Jeff and his crew. In short, they were professional, dependable and courteous throughout the entire project.

The service technician (Jonathan) arrived late for the scheduled appointment that was set a week out. The technician's arrive was late, 3 hrs, as he had to attend to a families needs who's AC unit stopped working in the extreme heat of this June 2010. Once here at the house the technician introduced himself properly and attended to all of the needs at hand to repair out second AC unit to cool our second floor which had stopped working. I described what I thought was the problem to the technician who was very pleasant and receptive which in my books built trust and a sense of his desire to be certain that he completed his job. Immediately he knew the problem, then diagnosed that he was correct and proceeded with an esitmate--parts and labor. Additionally, he stated that an overall check of the unit should be done, again more problems with the unit. Jonathan then outlined what he thought was the problem and then provided me with an estimate...written down. After the work was complete Jonathan discussed how I could further ensure proper working order of the unit and choices that I had to complete a minor leak...minor leak-- major cost and Jonathan again gave me an estimate and outlined that I had choices. The overall repair went well because of the technician. Jonathan, the technician, introduced himself, was courteous, and was even very quiet in our home when I informed him of our new born daughter. I was very satisified with the services, to me the technician was the person I was looking for: honest, upfront, informative, educated me about do's and don'ts and was very confident. WOULD I HIRE THE SAME COMPANY YES! THANK YOU BLANTON'S FOR YOUR HONEST COMPLETE WORK!!

I was impressed with Blanton's from the get go. Form the moment my wife spoke to Jeff on the phone to the last time I shook his hand after his final check up on the system. I never felt like my questions were not important or I was bugging him. Jeff made multiple trips to my house so I could compare there product with the products of other bidders, and he always seemed happy to do it. When the installers showed to my house to install the system. They arrived early and in uniform so that it was completely obvious who they were. Blanton?s was not the cheapest quote that we had received, but in the A/C business you definitely get what you pay for. So I wasn?t the least bit afraid to pay a little more for a better product. Now with that being said there price was very fair for the products we received. Now customer service is very important to my wife and I, and that was probably the biggest reason we went with Blanton?s and would recommend them to any one. Great customer service and they are not afraid to stand by there product and give you a five year labor warranty to go with the 10 year parts warranty. Most other companies only offered a one year warranty. I had a great experience with Blanton?s.

Reggie was friendly, helpful, and honest. He sold us the system we needed at the best price. All of the staff was prompt, kind, and efficient. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

They called me the day before to remind me of my appointment. I really liked them because they were on time. They were very honest too. They showed me how much it would cost before they did the work. They were really nice and were reasonably priced too. They were even willing to work out payment plans for me.

We were pretty satisfied with what they said. I liked this company and my wife saw another company which she wanted. So we went with them. The guy who came out took his time, sat down and allowed us to look into the brochure. He gave us the options whether it was higher or lower, whichever we wanted. He was pretty good and told us to call him anytime if we had any questions. He was right on time and professional.

I had (2) HVAC units installed in my house to replace my 14-year-old units. One system was a 4-ton package unit and the other was a 2 ton split unit. After a lot of research and talking with friends and family I decided to go with Trane systems. I initially considered Blanton?s because of the positive comments I?d heard about the company and because of the excellent job Blanton?s did installing new units at my workplace. I received bids from other companies and some were a bit cheaper than Blanton?s but none of them came close to the level of professionalism displayed by Blanton?s. The Blanton?s comfort specialist spent several hours at my house conducting a thorough load test to determine what type of system would best meet my needs and budget. On installation day the Blanton?s crew arrived on time and went right work. A representative explained exactly what they were going to do and gave me an estimate of how long it was going to take. Before they entered my house they put protective booties over their work boots so that they didn?t leave tracks on the carpet. They also placed ground cloths on the pathway to the split unit upstairs. All of the employees were professional, well mannered and took the time to answer any questions or concerns I had. Another thing that impressed me was that all of the employees actually wore uniforms so you didn?t see any baggy or sagging jeans. The installation crews did a great job of cleaning up after the installation and left the work site looking better than when they arrived. After the installation was complete a service tech programmed the units and did a great job of explaining how everything worked. I must say that I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and attention to detail displayed by Blanton?s and I highly recommend them for any of your HVAC needs.

We requested an inspection to see what could be accomplished to get the airflow evenly distributed throughout the house. The loft was always hot and the font and rear part of the house were extreme opposites to the settings with AC/Heat. Upon their inspection they identified that the current airflow was rerouted over a 100 ft than it should have been. Much of the problems revert back to when we had our old system replaced. The duct work had actually extended its years. The company took pictures of all areas under the house to show us where problems were. They actually identified that we had a water leak also. Very helpful. We also discussed the possibility of havig a humidifier for the house. We decided to go forth with the work, a bit of sceptism at first. But as the crew took on the project we were amazed at how courtious they were for our home, never entering without booties over their shoes and leaving the job area very clean. The work took two days. The technicians weren't happy with the amount of airflow and had a team come out to analyze the problem. Airflow was checked and corrective measures were taken, providing us such a difference of airflow in our home. Temperature was even through out the house. The humidifier has made such a difference for breathing and sleeping; to include less dust. We have never been so pleased with the work of a company as this one. Can honestly say there is nothing to complain about. Since we are pleased with the work we have asked them to take on servicing our other two rentals.

We found Blanton's through our local Home Depot after another local company had failed to deliver. Blanton's sent a consultant to our place, in the evening after we both got of work. Reggie was on time, took his shoes off at the door, and after asking us a few questions regarding our needs, checking out the existing system, the crawl space, and the electrical panel, he showed us several different units on his laptop, and helped us narrow down the choices based on our wishes. He did not pressure us into a decision, just left a printed comparison of the units. We called back several days later to schedule an appointment. Within 4 days we had the new unit installed (they would have come earlier, but we could not get time off work any earlier). The technicians were again very courteous & polite, arrived on time, cleaned up after themselves (even the indoor mess from where the thermostat was installed). 3 days later Reggie came by again on a Saturday (so we would not have to take time off work again) for a follow-up visit to see if everything was working to our satisfaction. He brought all the warranty paperwork, online registrations, etc. in a neat folder, explained everything, and only then charged our credit card for the work performed. And the best part: He had all the tedious online registration, warranty paperwork, etc. filled out for us so we did not have to do a thing. Even my grandma could have handled this installation on her own! Another plus: everybody spoke fluent English, from the consultants to the technicians.
