Dirty, deceitful, and disrespectful liars. My father, grandmother, and I sat with one of their sales people and he promised that they would also install the new faucet along with installing the countertops and new sink. I clearly remember my Father asking this sales person three separate times during this conversation about the sink if they were actually going to install it and they said yes. This was a big reason we decided to spend money with them. Once the installers arrived they refused to do the promised work because they didn’t have plumbing insurance. We called and spoke to three different people at their company to either get the cost of the plumber covered because the salesman lied or to have it done. We were put through to the owner of the company who was extremely rude. Instead of providing great customer service, the rude and arrogant owner instead threatened to put a lien on the house if my father did not pay even though they did not do what was promised.

As I tried to explain on the phone, we are not licensed plumbers or electricians and therefore do not provide connection services. This is true for almost all countertop fabricators and installers. We installed the sink, in terms of adhering it to the countertop, but I apologize if you misunderstood that to mean plumbing work. We have been serving the local community for over 20 years and absolutely never promise plumbing. It is also clearly written right above the signature line on the order form you signed. Unfortunately, I had to call you after I was told you were being very aggressive over to phone to one of my employees and told us that you were not going to pay and that we should open up a lawsuit. At that point, placing a lien becomes the only option left for us. We are in the business of specializing in countertop fabrication and installation, which we provided, and thus expect to be paid for services rendered.

Repeatedly, we tried to get an estimate for purchasing a Corian countertop for a new installation. The 2 people we worked with were very unsatisfactory. One quoted us a price for a discounted material (not the material I wanted) and then took several days to reply with a corrected price; 2) extremely rude over the phone when I asked for more information about the quote in a followup call. We ended up going to Home Depot, who were much more responsive and definitely not rude.
Description of Work: Provided samples and a quote for materials and labor.

This gentleman came into the showroom and the sale rep spent over one hour getting his selections and choices, an estimate was given to the gentleman via email. There was a follow up call to the customer to ask if he had received the estimate. He stated he did and requested a new brand and color to be estimated. Again a follow up call was made and at that time we were told he had gone with a big box store for the tops. When the owner of Atlantic Countertops found out about a negative review, She contacted the customer to inquire about his perceived treatment. The gentleman at that time denied poor and disrespectful treatment from us. Atlantic Countertops takes this complaint very serious. He stated the sale rep was very considerate and patient. Atlantic Countertops is unsure of the second person this customer may have deal with in the showroom or on the phone. The sales rep that helped the customer in the showroom was also the one who did the follow up phone calls. Atlantic Countertops always welcomes customer feed back, However the two negative customer reviews on Angie's List are not the true representative profile for Atlantic Countertops. When Atlantic Countertops contacted Angie's list about these two reviews They requested we can pay to get a better rating on Angie's List. Atlantic Countertops does not believe a payment to Angie's List should be required. Angie's List is a false consumer network for contractor reviews. It advertises that no contractors pay for Angie"s List . This is totally incorrect. We recommend the consumer check on yelp or google sites if they truly would like unbias and unpaid review of a contractor.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE SLICK, AND DOWNRIGHT DISHONEST! THEY BAITED ME WITH A FAIR PRICE FOR THE WORK, THEN UPPED THE ESTIMATE 300%. I COULD UNDERSTAND IF SHE SAID, IT'S MORE WORK THAN I THOUGHT, AND IT WILL BE 50% MORE. NO! SHE WAS SAID THREE TIMES AS MUCH.....IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, GET YOUR GRANITE OUT OF MY SHOP! NO PROFESSIONAL COURTESY WHATSOEVER. I AM HANDICAP AND ON A VERY LIMITED INCOME, AND TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE LIKE THAT IS EVIL!!!! ONE MORE TIME, IF YOU DIDN'T GET MY GIST, STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Description of Work: I told the owner exactly what I needed, which was to cut my granite piece to a different size. She quoted me a price of $200. After I brought the piece in (it weighs 500 Pounds), she revised her estimate upward by 300% to $600. Because how hard it was to move, she thought I would cave and pay the price because it is so difficult to pick up and move. WRONG! I picked it up and brought it down the street, and the nice people there did it for $150, which was less than my original estimate from these opportunists/scammers.

I would like to clear up some misrepresentations that were shared on the Angie's list website about my business. I have delayed my response a couple of days to calm down and think clearly so I won't commit the same mistake that the gentleman made the other day with his inaccurate emotional rant. Here are the facts: My customer was a contractor who was doing some remodeling work for his customer. He needed a piece of granite cut and he did not have the equipment to do the job so he contacted us to cut the granite. The request was to cut a 48" x 48" piece of granite down to 48" x 25". We provided a written estimate to do the work. He agreed that was a fair price and brought it to our shop. When the contractor who is our customer arrived at our shop our men unloaded the granite to be cut it was a 72" x 39"x 36" L shaped piece of granite. The contractor requested a few changes to what he had shared originally over the phone- he wanted a round radius on one end and bull nose edges on the other two sides, we shared with him this requires significantly more time and will increase the labor cost. We did what we always do when we have a change order, we wrote a new estimate to reflect the additional labor required to complete the job and submitted it to the contractor for approval. Then the customer of the contractor called us and demanded we do the work for the same price and said we were trying to pull a bait and switch, that we were taking advantage of him. He used very abusive language and threatened to call channel 5 TV station. He continued to make slanderous accusations and used language I will not repeat. Our response was if you would like to call the TV station we would welcome that, we have done nothing wrong, your contractor submitted a work order request and we provided a written estimate. When the contractor arrived with the material, the piece was different than described and the edge work was added to the request. We then responded to his change order with a revised estimate and submitted it for your contractor's approval. When we ultimately spoke with the contractor we suggested he seek an estimate from another shop because the level of trust between our company and his customer did not meet our standard of doing business. In closing we understand misunderstandings occur when you have several parties working toward a common goal. One lesson I think we can all take away from this is, it is not advisable to publically post malicious and slanderous statements about anyone because you may not fairly represent all the facts. Freedom of speech is a precious right but those who exercise it should be held accountable to the truth. Keep in mind what you say incorrectly can cause harm to many innocent people who have done nothing wrong. We appreciate the many positive comments posted by our customers about their experiences with Atlantic Countertops.

On Nov. 21, 2012 a small amount of water was spilled on the seam of two sections. Swelling was immediate in spite of the water being wiped up immediatly because the seams were never sealed. Atlantic Countertops said they told us not to spill any water but neither my wife or I remember any such conversation. My memory may be questionable but there is no question of my wifes ability to recal the conversation if it had taken place. Does it seem strange to anyone that countertops installed in a kitchen would not be able to tolerate any moisture without swelling? Atlantic Countertops replaced the two sections at their cost. The installation crews for both installs were very personable and competent and completed the work in short time.
Description of Work: Original laminate countertops were installed on Oct. 13, 2011. After filing BBB complaint and subsequent negotiations, replacement sections were installed on Jan 21, 2012

This is a professional operation. Precision was great. Installation expertise and care was good. Company responsiveness to my changes was good. Cleaned up afterward was satisfactory.
Description of Work: I am a general contractor who was doing a kitchen remodel for my customer. Custom granite countertop including straight and large circular areas. It needed to be very precise. Delivery and installation appointment and response to some changes was important. Cleanliness important. Responsibile for their part of this kitchen.

It was a very good experience with them. They were very responsive and their prices were great considering the quality of their work. They were great at resolving problems.
