I don't know how big they are; they continue to merge with other companies and have become on of the major players in our area. We have had a long term relationship with them. Their services are very good and we are very happy with them. To the best of my memory they left the area fine; I did not have any problems with any of it. They did an excellent job of explaining what the next steps were such as what needed to be filed, etc. It took them two days to do it. I am sure they are not the cheapest, but they did a good job. I found them to be very professional. The only issue we had with them was that there was some confusion of the programming of a couple of controllers and we had to have them come back out to do that, but they came right back out.
Description of Work: We use ARS / Rescue Rooter Raleigh for heating and A/C. They were last here for a major system install, including a new heat pump.

He ended up telling me we had a problem with the pressure gauge and had to pay additional money to repair. We had them do it and it made our water bill increase.I would not use them in the future.

I noticed I didn't have any hot water one morning before I had to go to work. I went outside to check my hot water tank, in the crawlspace, and noticed a river running out of it. I had little time to deal with the situation so I turned the water off and went inside to inform the family there will be no hot water and I proceeded to work. On my drive in I called a couple plumbing companies, most of them said they could not respond until the next day. When I reached Keith at Rapid Repair Experts he explained that they will be able to come out and take a look the same day. I quickly agreed and explained where the crawlspace door was so the technician can take a look. I got a call around lunch saying what I already new, I needed a new water heater. To my surprise Jason the technician said that he could have one in by the end of the day. That sounded fantastic to me so I gave him the necessary approvals so he can get started. Later that day when I arrived home I seen Jason walking to his truck. When I got out he told me that everything is all set. I was amazed. I thought he would have to work late into the evening. We tested the water and everything worked perfect. I was very impressed with the response, quality, service and price of the work. I would highly recommend this company for any emergency plumbing needs.

The rep was very professional and relatively fast. I originally gave them a lower review because they didn't accept any angies list discounts despite me mentioning it over the phone prior to the service call. They said they weren't accepting Angie's list coupons anymore. I subsequently mentioned that in my Angie's List review. Unbelievably, I was actually contacted by phone, apologized to, and then sent a hand written letter and a check in the amount of the discount that was on the Angie's List coupon. I was shocked and surprised. Probably the best follow up customer service I have EVER experienced. The quality of the work was very good and the price was quite fair to begin with but I was a little put off by what seemed like a bait-and-switch with offering an unusable Angie's list coupon. Now that that's been very quickly remedied I have zero problem editing my review and will likely go back.
Description of Work: We had an outdoor faucet leak. It is a commercial style faucet that requires a key to turn on / off. It was on and the key was stripped so it wouldn't turn off. ARS turned the faucet off.

I bought a Angie's deal for $49, I would get a service call and $100 toward any work. I had three things that needed to get done, ARS came in and gave me the following estimate for the items I need fixed: 1. Remove garbage disposal, a couple of options were given to me and they were -remove the disposal for $399.00 or have another disposal installed for $456, 2. Fix a running toilet, again I was given a couple of options, they could repair it for $416.00 (replace all the inner workings which would have involved removing the toilet tank, etc, or just replace the toilet w/ a better one he had on his truck for $624.00 3. Replace a outside faucet, this would cost $260.00 I know nothing about plumbing but this felt like a total rip off. None of these were emergent so I opted not to have anything done. I knew my neighbor had previously used Aqua Plumbing and I decided I would see if Rick could come out. He came out and for $196.00 he removed the disposal, repaired the toilet so it was no longer running and could flush easier and replaced the faucet. I was lucky b/c I didn't have an emergency and was able to go find someone else but if you are looking for a plumber, I would stay away from ARS. Their previous reviews looked positive and they might do good work but all their reviews docked them on cost and I can understand why. I will be sticking w/ Aqua Plumbing!

I was with him the entire time he was in the house. He told me what exactly was going on and kept me informed. I was very pleased with him. He talked to me about the problem and then fixed it. I was very pleased with his work. He is very patient and was full of information, which is what I needed.

It was awful. the guy came out tried to sell 1500.00 UV light air purifier and downplayed the one we bought and said it didn't do much. He arrived on time. The tenant that was there had allergies, so that's why we bought that UV light air purifier.

Fantastic experience. Showed up on time and provided several options to choose from in different price points (regular water heaters through tankless) went with the tankless option since we've been considering it for a while. They showed up the next day and didd the installation and removal of the old one. Very clean installation and courteous, professional service. I'm using them again for additional work.

I had thought that the toilet was a dual flush rather than a single one, so the plumber had to correct that misconception. He switched out the toilets quickly and efficiently without making a mess. He didn't have a good cleaning agent to remove the glue used on the base of the original toilet, so I had to scramble to find something that might work. Other than that there were no problems. The toilet has worked well without backing up or otherwise being a problem. We are happy with it.

Description of Work: I used Angie's list to set up an appointment for a toilet water feed leak. Noone ever contacted me. We had a major winter storm so I realized they might not be able to keep the appointment but no one ever called or wrote or contacted me in any way to schedule a different time or even confirm that we had requested their service. We certainly would have understood if they had to reschedule do to the weather but to not even contact us is unacceptable. We submitted our request on Feb 17. today is Feb. 21st and still NO Reply!

The same day, a sales rep came to my house and quoted cost to replace old unit. Cost was very reasonable so we decided to have ARS install new heating/AC unit.
Description of Work: Furnace would not heat. Inspected 12 year old heat unit. Blower motor was seized up and found cracks in unit which could cause fire. Recommended unit be replaced. Service tech clearly explained problems with unit.

Very well. Said he would have to go back to the shop and may not be able to return until a later date. He came back within an hour with the bulb and replaced it.

I found the coupon a little deceptive. It clearly mentioned labor/service for flushing hot water heater. You had to dig down, to find the caveat that it was extra for tankless water heaters. I noticed this before the visit and so called up. The new price quote was significantly higher than the coupon value, more expensive than competing coupons I had seen for tankless heater flushes elsewhere. After some back and forth, we agreed to split the difference. The service person was perfectly fine but there was a little "salesmanship" that went on, with idneitification of a couple of other things, all of them optional, none of them critical, that would have jacked up the bill significantly. I declined all of them. In summary, excepting somewhat misleading language in the coupon and some salesmanship, the quality of the service was fine. Also during the phone call, the home office was very pleasant and willing to work with me. Overall experience was OK but could have been much better.

Their prices are a little on the high side, but they're always competent and do a good job. They always are able to come out pretty quickly. Usually I call them and they're able to come out the next day. I've been dealing with them for a long time and they seem to do a good job. I'm willing to pay a little extra for that. In all the years I've been dealing with them - 40 years probably - only once did I have to call them back, because they hadn't secured a furnace door properly and it was like a two minute thing to fix. Other than that, they do the job right and they come out and are careful. They wear booties when they're in the house. I always have confidence in the quality of their work.

I first became associated with this company many years ago (around 2005) when they did repair on my older AC unit. The repair rep was friendly and fixed the problem, so I continued using them, even though I felt their rates a bit pricey. In 2010 the old AC unit ( then 14 years old ) couldn't be repaired and replacing it made sense with the hugh government rebates at the time. I had ARS replace the unit and was pleased with their work then, as well. A few years ago, however, the representatives they sent to our residency were more interested in "selling" additional upgrades to help filter the air inside as I noticed we were getting a bit more dust in the house. I bought 2 upgrades that were suppose to resolve and eliminate the dust getting into the house at a cost of over $1,600. Still, the dust was getting into the house, and the representative that ARS sent in September kept trying to get me to purchase yet another upgrade which he promised would take care of the dust ... this one was over $1,400. All I was wanting was the winter checkup for the unit. I also noticed that ARS discontinued following up on the service calls to see if I was a satisfied customer. Probably because I expressed my unhappiness with the add-on parts that seem to not work. I'll probably use another AC company in the Spring, or the next time I use a Htg/AC company.

I was having trouble with my kitchen sink faucet, which would turn off without warning, and low water pressure throughout the house. ARS sent someone out twice (the first time I had recorded the wrong date, and was not available) without charging me extra. The person they sent was friendly, polite, and professional. He suggested several solutions for the faucet, and we ultimately decided to override the off/on electronic sensor. He also adjusted the water pressure. I was very pleased with the service and will call ARS again when I need a plumber.

Situation was that their pricing was DOUBLE what another competitor was quoting and they were charging nearly 3 times the price on parts that I can get from Home Depot for a comparable part. The tech was late but very professional and clean. Communicated well and explained items clearly.

I'm a disable vet and changing the water filter is a challenge that requires serious crawling to get to it and then some dexterity otherwise you can break the pipe. After holding it off for so long ,I realized that I now also have to drain the hot water tank. (that was installed during Bush administration) So after talking to Charlie ,it became more advantageous to simply replaced both items (he took the time to replace my jammed filter to my fridge). Next day I met Jerry who not only listen to my concerns but like Charlie talked in Layman terms. I was allowed to watch and he explain everything he was doing . ( He was nice enough to check the other pipes and vents while there). So now I have a better water heater (good thing because the other was pretty rusty) . Most importantly they relocate my new water filter system to an area where I now have easy access to but not be in the way. So now I can change the filter myself. (of course being from the city in NY they had to show me how) Just so you all know this is not the first time I used this company. ARS has also replaced my heating and AC system and vents. The way this house is going I might have to buy their stock in their company.

They are our regular service provider for our heating and cooling system. Their work is more than acceptable. I have been a customer with them for at least 7 years now. The technicians are very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The scheduling has been fine and easy. Relative to others their prices are higher than the average and lower than the most expensive.
