Absolutely the worst experience! There are not enough words to explain. Review the BBB website before considering purchase.
Description of Work: Warranty Issues It is now passed a point of total dissatisfaction. We closed on the house on May 25th , 2012 and we are still trying to get items resolved 22 January 2013. According to the contract, there are 30 days after closing to complete the items; AHS has not complied with the contract. I have discussed this with Realtors and other home owners and they are absolutely shocked. As normal, the home builder will try and justify its inept performance and or corrective actions to resolve these issues, but the bottom line is that the items are still not complete. Keep in mind; these are items that were supposed to be corrected within the first 30 days. It is now at the 8th month mark and it is becoming absolutely ridiculous. Additionally, it is now coming up on the time to do the 10-11 month list; we can only imagine what can be expected. During our house search, we stopped at a few builders and did a little research. We also checked the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for any complaints about the home builders we were looking at. Under AHS there were two complaints, and they were both related to warranty work and the time frame of getting it completed. We addressed this with the AHS rep and they informed us that it was a misunderstanding and it has since been resolved. There are now 4 complaints and again, it references the lack of work and the extremely long wait to get anything completed. We have kept every e-mail, text message, voice-mail, and recall all items that needed to be completed. At this point, we don care what AHS representative made the commitments, but the commitments that were promised or agreed upon need to be completed. The need to complete the items should not be done in haste as to ignore quality. The completion of the remaining items, should be treated with the same due diligence, as if it was "your" home they were taken care of. Initially, we were supposed to close on the 15th of May and that didn't happen. On 24 May we signed the papers and prepared to move in. On Friday 25 May, we had scheduled movers, based off the information we received from Seller's Agent/Builder. Unfortunately, the house was still NOT ready. On the same day, my wife (pics available) is cleaning the new house we were supposed to move into. Additionally, at one point, she was on her hands and knees trying to get some of the dirt and debris off the floor. 12 Nov 2012: Warranty Rep making entry into my garage WITHOUT permission. The problem is not with the rep personally but with the actions that transpired. For whatever reason he decided to take another stranger that I have no idea who he was into my garage, to discuss a piece of my property without authority. I cannot explain enough on how extremely frustrating this was. The point is not that I think your rep would steal anything or at least I hope not, but it was the total disregard to someone's personal space. 14 Nov: In reference to the ditch and possible plans to move forward. Our goal is to ensure that whatever plans that is set in motion, all parties are in agreement. If there are disagreements, then we need to have a plan B. We will not accept half hearted work or sub-par work as expressed in the customer survey we sent in. I think we have endured enough disappointment in this process and I don feel like we need to endure any additional. As mentioned in a previous conversation, the developer had pushed back initially because of a cost involved. In my opinion, I don think that is an issue at this point. It is extremely unfortunate that this has turned out the way it has. There are entirely too many items and or broken promises to list. In addition, the home builder sent out a survey on what we thought of the new home. We were direct in our answers and once again, expressed our frustration in this process. We have not heard one word on the survey and how they were going to ensure that this would take care of and how it would be prevented in the future.
