I would NOT recommend All My Sons moving company to anyone considering a moving Company. What was the most interesting thing about our experience with All My Sons was how awful it was, before, during, and after the move. Our move was extremely simple, moving 6 items from one apartment to another only 25 minutes away. Before we decided on All My Sons, I called the number on the website and got a very helpful person who told me that the date we were looking for was available and that she would add a note stating we needed the move to occur in the morning. At that time, I provided a $100.00 deposit. The next day I got a call stating that the only time available was in the afternoon, not the morning. This was my first encounter with Lawrence who runs the Raleigh office. Lawrence told me that my first call was to "A call center in Dallas" and they wouldn't be aware of the Raleigh office's specific schedule - something in today's day I find hard to believe. He was inflexible, and his tone was such that it was my fault I called the call center and not his problem. We adjusted our schedule that day and moved on. More fun with All My Sons on moving day. For clarity, I should share there was an hourly charge ($178) for the crew and the time it took would be how the bill would be based plus one hour charge for transportation before and after the actual move. The crew arrived at 2:15 and took almost three hours to move 6 items 25 minutes. But here is what we learned after the fact. They over-reported their arrival and departure times by 15 minutes adding 30 minutes to our bill They took an additional 15 - 20 minutes to get from the old apartment to the new apartment. We left at the same time and we arrived there and waited 15 - 20 minutes for them to show. Based on Lawrence's response later on this appears to be a standard practice to get what they can from people who don't pay attention. They sat and did nothing for 45 minutes while another truck was unloading. They over-packaged and wrapped the 6 items and charged us $150.00 for plastic wrap, one box, and tape for 6 items - only 4 of which needed to be wrapped. They delivered a white sofa with a ton of dirt and stains on it to the point where we needed to get it cleaned. They demanded payment ahead of delivering the furniture - made us feel like our stuff was kidnapped. In short, the movers were not urgent, overly intentional, and purposefully slow. After the move is where things got interesting. I called Lawrence to share my displeasure with a $900 + bill to move 6 items 25 minutes away (It cost us $500 to move into that apartment 6 months ago). Lawrence was transparent about the crew over-reporting their times and credited us with 45 minutes, but nothing more. He was super inflexible and refused to provide a supervisor's name to escalate to. I went on to find the email addresses of the CEO, Robert Peterson, and the President, Chris Generale. When I sent them emails, they both bounced because my gmail address wasn't a "trusted address". After several other calls and attempts to resolve this issue, I quickly learned no one at their corporate office wanted to talk with All My Sons customers and the call center folks just tell you there is "nothing anyone is going to do" to help resolve an issue. As a matter of fact their "Contact Us" page on their website is non functional, cannot even send them a note or email about any issues. We gave them several opportunities to make this right, shared exactly to the minute wehre we were overcharged and asked for the $900+ bill be brought down to $600 again to move 6 items 25 minutes away. I made the mistake of not checking reviews on these guys because it was a small, simple move. After the fact, we learned that the All My Sons moving company is one of if not the LOWEST-RATED movers we could have hired. Shame on us for not checking first. To recap this organization is architected in a way to close all the business possible on the phone even if it means misleading people, then they will do everything they can to extract as much money as possible out of their customers, then when you want to talk through your experience with someone, they are unwilling to listen, and set up so that you cannot escalate to anyone in a leadership position. Don't make the same mistake I made, there are plenty of other options out there. Steer clear of this group for any size move or you will find yourself writing a review like this one.

Where do I start? Moved 30 min away. The night before I get a phone call saying that I reserved one truck and my house may need TWO trucks. I indicated that I gone over the inventory of my 1961 sq ft home with at least two people. I pushed the issue, they didn’t guarantee anything.They did show up with two trucks and 8 furniture movers — no, wait, let me correct that:8 guys who were untrained in moving furniture. Why do I say that? We had packed almost 50% of the house…the stuff they packed? One example -found a printer in a box with a lamp, with no paper or bubble wrap. Lamp broken. My almost. My almost new L-shaped desk - broken. My brand new China cabinet (literally delivered Jan 30), legs broken and they tried to prop it up, as if it were fine. I only found out it was broken when I tried to move it about 2 inches over and it almost fell on me. Broken bookcase, damaged corners on other office furniture. One of the *ahem* movers offered to get some wood glue. We were offered $300, then after I balked, it went to $400 BUT I had to sign something that said I would never disparage them on social media. NOPE.

DO NOT HIRE ALL MY SONS MOVING COMPANY! We recently used All My Sons to move our entire house full of furniture. They threw things in boxes with no packaging material. They were not trained on how to properly pack and load items. They did not arrived or completed work on time. We had so many things damaged, it is beyond awful and they were not willing to take responsibility. We had to engage the North Carolina Utilities Commission to get this company ‘s attention.

This company charges $600 in materials which includes cardboard and plastic and does not inform customers of this ahead of time verbally. but puts it in fine print in an email. This company spends 5 hours shrink wrapping plastic chairs and canvas prints. The biggest problem with this company is the lack if customer respect, specifically Robert Yates, the operating manager. This man is very rude and pompous and enjoys enforcing the inflated payment by threatening to hold the furniture hostage. He enjoys his little power trip and does not care at all that customers were not aware of $1,000 in fees. Do not use this company! Read the fine print! Shop around for a company with straight forward pricing and good customer service. Joseph the driver was a very nice guy though! It’s unfortunate he works for such an awful company!

A scam! PLEASE DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE!!!! No underlining costs given or explained prior even after I had asked specifically when I first called to inquire. Shane/Shawn Nicki Carter in the Raleigh office I believe set customers up especially the elder to get them to pay more than what was initially quoted. When I called, Shane/Shawn was nasty, rude, cold hearted, nonchalant, unprofessional and unapologetic. Refused to give me main corp. #, leadership info., his last name, Nick's last name. He said as far as he was concerned, business with me was done and I needed to pay the full amount right then!!!! I was given a total of $164 by Nick on 7/5. He said after deposit of $100 only $64 would be owed at the time of delivery. Upon delivery, I was told I had to pay $590. If I did not pay, items would be sent t to their storage and sold. No itemized breakdown or potential costs were ever discussed with me even after I asked specifically if there were any, and Nick said NO. I had only 4 pieces to deliver but the large truck used could have been to deliver a whole house. I believe i was even charged for that size truck which was not needed. I was even told after the fact that the tape used is at a charge. If knew of all of the additional associated costs up front, I would have gone with another co. Also, the cost of the delivery charged was much more than the total cost of the items delivered!! Pickup and delivery was all within a 10-15 mile radius! from one area in Durham NC another area in Durham! Again, I was never told any of this prior. What a shame and a disgrace that such companies are so hard up for money that they would rip folks off to this extreme!! SHAME on YOU!!!!!!!! I want a full refund or the overage I paid without being told of prior, reimbursed!

Incredibly unprofessional and misleading. My initial phone call to schedule a move was friendy and easy. I paid my $100 deposit. The agent asked what time I’d like to move and I said 10 am. She asked if I could do 9:30 and I said that would be fine. 3 days before my move I received a call asking me to call to confirm my move and schedule a time. When I called the scheduling person Shane said they would be there btween 12 and 5. I shared that on my initial call they scheduled me at 9:30. He said because I did not return his call quickly enough that day to confirm, the morning slots were taken by someone else. I expressed my frustration that I had been misled by the initial agent I spoke to and was expecting a 9:30 time and that if scheduling was done on a first come first serve basis they should let people know up front. He then snapped at me and said “well ma’am then you can find another company to move you.” With irritation and frustration in my voice I said “well Shane that’s not really possible 2 days out from my move is it?” At that point he said “I will not be cursed at and am cancelling your move and returning your deposit”. He hung up on me! I did not raise my voice to him nor did I use foul language with him. I did have a frustrated tone to my voice. So I was left with no movers 2 days before my move out. I called the company headquarters who gave me the run around and ultimately said it was up to Shane since he was the head of that Raleigh store. Meanwhile I still have not received my deposit.

This company is terrible. They sent an inexperienced crew to my house and they broke the leg off my office desk, broke both legs off my grandfather clock, they ran their moving truck into my car. The worker who kept breaking things was doing drugs in the back of the moving truck. Then he dropped our toaster oven on his own head and bled all over our house and he didn’t clean up after himself. All My Sons did not clean up his bloody mess all over my house. All My Sons did not send a replacement worker, and we were physically injured trying to complete the move filling in for their missing man. While we were all going to the new house the injured man stayed behind and claimed he was getting a ride from someone. Then when we returned to the old house we saw that someone had broke into our house while we were away and stole a bunch of our stuff. We suspect the All My Sons crew staged the injury in order to steal from us. All My Sons charged us full price with no discount. The Tucson office was completely unresponsive. I called the corporate office and spoke with Geoff, who took my claim and did absolutely nothing for a week. I had to call back and spoke to Sydney, who told me she was in charge and I was an idiot, and Sydney was much too important to talk to a customer with a complaint. Then I emailed Geoff again who said that their insurance was willing to pay $250 for all that damage and that was it. That’s completely unacceptable. I am a nice guy, a doctor. This business All My Sons are crooks.

Hired all my sons for a short distance move. They were very responsive, helped me book a spot right away. Talil and Anthony were punctual, arrived on time, packed everything carefully and were done moving in 3 hours, including disassembly and reassembly. Would definitely hire again!

Scheduled a move from one apartment to another apartment in the same building about 3 to 4 weeks in advance for August 29th was told verbally between 12 and 4 PM arrival time for the movers the day of the move I called early morning to confirm if they’re going to arrive around lunchtime so I then can make the errands that I need to do before they come was told rudely by a staff member that and I quote will call you when we’re getting ready to come to you. This was with complete attitude and disrespectful Ness I called around 215 and was told the exact same thing and it was rude and disrespectful yet again I called around 4 o’clock was disconnected three times after being placed on hold then spoke to an operations manager the first thing, they wanted to do was canceled the move did not even want to hear the problem didn’t care to hear the problem all they cared about was the money. Then I was finally told they would show up around 530 to 630 once again I was told they would call me within an hour arrival of arrival at my home I get a call 10 minutes before they arrived. A wall was damaged furniture was damaged and I still had to move furniture myself and put it in the correct places. I then called on August 31 and spent over an hour and a half on the phone transferred five times and was transferred to a manager that said that their customer service department would be able to handle and initiate any additional credit beyond the $50 that they’re willing to offer after me spending 700 for the move. I got transferred to the customer service department and explain the situation there I can issue a credit you’re going to have to go back to the manager. I go back to the manager and call him out on a flat-out lie that he stated, and he ignores it as if I am the problem. Note to self to anyone do your research read the reviews they are real. I experienced it firsthand and lost out on money and damaged goods because no one cares. The excuse I was given was the crew that was supposed to move your furniture called out sick we had to bring in a crew on their day off. The logistics behind schedule is not the consumer’s problem this is a manager’s problem internally it is clear to me now that the managers do not know how to schedule and coordinate appropriately be very cautious in hiring this company because, in my experience, they don’t care they care about the money All I wanted was a phone call stating they are going to be late due to logistical issues.

All My Sons packed and removed contents from my home in Fuquay Varina 33 months ago. The items were to be kept in their storage facility is Raleigh. Upon pick up with my own U-Haul, $23,000+ of goods are missing and they have no idea where they are. They somehow lost and or stole a King Mattress, 48" wide head high toolbox full of tools, a ladder, a bike, small appliances, power tools and plenty of other items that they set their eyes on, GONE. I was told their claims department is great. We will see because I have an attorney, police report and all other evidence that their employees are thieves. Run far and fast away from these dishonest people. The only thing they could tell me is that they had management issues a few years ago. Time for a nice court case I can picture in the near future

The AllMySons movers, Alonzo, Maurice, Kareem, Jose and Tyler were fantastic! They packed & unpacked in less time than expected without any issue. They worked as a team, professionally, politely and respectful of our belongings. Everything was found in the same condition even the most delicate items as before packing. They left our home cleaned. They cared about servicing us with pride. After unpacking they took all the cardboard, a great help.

Just finished what turned out to be a two-day move with ALL MY SONS. Worst move of my life, and that includes a prior move in which the truck got stuck for 3 hours under an overpass that was too low. ALL MY SONS LEFT THE HOUSE WITHOUT TELLING US AND WITHOUT TAKING ALL THE FURNITURE WITH THEM. I didn't think I would have to try to persuade people I hired to move me to actually move my furniture. We gave them the square footage of the house, they made the decision on what truck to send. It was too small. And mind you, this is in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house, which they knew, in which we have only ONE bed and ONE dresser. Midway through the move the head guy told us there wasn't room enough on the truck to complete the move, "they" had sent too small a truck. I told him we had to be out of the house that evening and to call his boss and make it work. He told me his boss was not willing to do anything about the situation. I gave them instructions about how to prioritize what to take (for example, all indoor stuff and leaving the outdoor stuff which maybe we could get later) which were completely ignored. Then, to add insult to injury, my daughter came to tell me that they were pulling away without having told us they were leaving. There were still things in the living room. We live on a circle, so I went outside to confront the truck as they were coming by the house again. I told them they could not leave without taking everything with them, and they refused. I had to go back to the old house the next day to move the things they left by myself, which took me 3 hours (on the day after a move, so you know how many other things I needed to be doing that day, OTHER than moving myself when I had hired a moving company). I had to leave the house at 6:45 AM so I could clean the house out by the deadline of that morning. So don't use ALL MY SONS unless you want nasty surprise after nasty surprise, and want to do part of your move by yourself on the fly. (All of this is in addition to other things like calling and not leaving a message for our pre-move notification, which meant I was running around the house trying to get the cat situated when they showed up at my doorstep.) They also broke the sofa and barely pieced it back together again- I don't sit down on it quickly now for fear of injury. Just avoid ALL MY SONS and save yourself some trouble.

One of the movers was on the phone the whole time and I had to help the other move furniture while he was on the phone. He also did not properly wear a mask or social distance. After the move the driver of the truck apparently threatened the other mover’s life and he had to call a ride as the driver left him. Never use this company unless you enjoy over paying and horrible customer service. Contacted the company and they are not interested in helping customers in any way.

I wish Zero Stars was an option. This is the very worst moving company I have ever hired and we have moved 6 times. When I booked them I explained that we were moving 2 households into one. I specifically outlined the details of what was needed. The person I spoke to assured me that it was a 3 man job and gave me a rough estimate of what it would cost. I booked them for the date we needed and he took my email to send me the confirmation. We never received an email and when we called back they had taken down the wrong email. Even though we corrected it they never sent us details of anything via email. Then Karly called 3 days before the scheduled move and said that they had us booked for the day prior to what we had them scheduled for. When I protested she coldly said that they had no other openings on the original date. No apology for their mistake. They arrived hours earlier than expected. They quickly assessed the job and said it is way bigger than they thought and was more of a 5 man job. They said it would take 2 days and cost twice as much as estimated. I asked for the owner to call me and he never did. I called the company and again spoke to Karly. I told her my situation and all of the errors that had been made. She flatly denied that there were any errors and then said that she will not apologize because they did nothing wrong. She was rude and had zero customer service skills. Then she called back and said that she would waive a few "fees". The movers I am pretty sure stopped between our old house and the new house and got a little drunk because their eyes were red and their moving got very sloppy. Although this could have been because it was evening (the sloppiness). I was assured that evening moves were common with this company and that their movers do 3-4 moves a day- yikes! They broke an antique desk and didn't mention it- we found the pieces later. They also dumped all the boxes in the lower level two rooms and did not, for instance, bring the boxes marked "kitchen" upstairs to the actual kitchen. They were not able to fit the table into the dining room through the doorway so we had to do it ourselves later on. The crew on the second day was much better. But still no boxes delivered to appropriate rooms. We were overcharged with odd fees. When we questioned these, we were told it was tax but the numbers did not add up and when we challenged them they quickly reduced the fees. It was LITERALLY THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER BECAUSE OF THIS COMPANY AND PARTICULARLY BECAUSE OF KARLY AND BECAUSE THEY SLIPPED IN HIDDEN FEES. HIRE SOMEONE ELSE- ANYONE- BUT NOT THESE PEOPLE!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Movers caused $600 worth of damage to my home and the company would only pay $200 as they “felt $200 would cover the damage.” The damage was caused by the crew head who leaned an expensive and heavy wooden dining table against a corner in my home and walked away to take a phone call. I understand accidents happen and I thought such a large reputable company would take care of it. They tried to send their contractor out to fix it but I didn’t want to use a contractor I did not know and was working for a company who’s interest was to complete the repair as cheap as possible. The claim took over a month to return to me and as you can imagine I was shocked at they low ball they sent to me. I’m not impressed with them at all and strongly recommend using a different company.

First off I would like to say that the head of All My Sons nationally, Chris Generale was impressive to deal with. He took charge of my issues. My issues were with the local franchise in Raleigh. I had used Little Guys movers for 2 previous moves and had a great experience. Despite the reviews of All My Sons in Raleigh, I went with them this time as I needed to store my items for 30 days. Without going into excessive detail (as i have done this with them locally and with there national office) I chose them because of their quote being fair and similar to Little Guys. In the end, for the first move I was charged 50% more than the quote (mostly because of time...all but one in the crew were new...for a couple of them, it was their first move) and by the time items were moved into my home, some had damage. When i talked to the local people, they directed me to the local franchise owner Kenon Furlong kenon@allmysons.com and they advised me to be nice in my communications to him as he has a short temper and won't address my issues otherwise. So I did that.....multiple times. No response from Kenon.... I then decided to reach out to Chris Generale (the head of All My Sons Nationally) and he got his people on it and the insurance part of my claim is settled. Here is the email I sent to Chris Generale which provides a little more detail of my experience. What you don't see in this email are the email communications attached that I had with Kenon to which Kenon never replied. Hi Chris, What I’m sharing with you is the first half of my moving experience with All My Sons. The 2nd half post-storage move to my home the crew did a good job and were timely. I won’t go into much detail as the feedback and pattern you will see in the emails. My issues lie in 3 areas: 1. The negative experience and extensive overcharge had in my first move with no action taken to date as well as the damage which I have filed for 2. The lack of response from Kenon Furlong after multiple attempts a. I was told by one of his employees over the phone that I had to be overly nice in my moving feedback to him as he has a short temper and may not comply. I found that counter-intuitive to someone in a customer service business but I feel like emails to Kenon were cordial and I was just seeking action. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ That was my email text to Chris Generale. My suggestion to anyone who has a negative experience with All My Sons in Raleigh is to contact Kenon Furlong kenon@allmysons.com and if he doesn't respond or responds in a negative way, contact Chris as he has a vested interest in this local franchise owner providing world class service.

While planning a move to our new home this summer we contacted All My Sons Moving & Storage Raleigh for an estimate. Mr. Jim Hendren, a very experienced and professional estimator came to our home to provide the estimate. Impressed with Jim and satisfied with the estimate, we scheduled a two-step move, the first on July 10 and the second on July 24. The July 10 move was marred by major damage to a stairwell wall as two well intended movers had difficulty moving a desk. We got a contractor to give us an estimate for the repairs and his crew did repair and paint the wall. We filed a claim with All My Sons and received a check to cover our expenses more than a month later. The larger move occurred on July 24. It can only be described as a disaster. A four-man crew arrived on time and worked hard all day loading the truck to move our things to our new home just six miles away. Late in the afternoon, it became apparent there was not enough room on the truck for everything. The crew chief first mentioned returning that day to pick up what was left but then told us he would return at 9 am the next morning to complete the move. We agreed and that was a BIG MISTAKE! The crew did not return the next morning despite numerous calls to AMS. Subsequently, we called upon friends with pickup trucks to complete the move which required eight trips. Also, please note that boxes marked with Red Fragile Handle With Care stickers were stacked on top of each other with crystal glass breakage as well as breakage to a dresser mirror. Careless with dollies on hardwood floors. Believing that AMS had not fulfilled its contract, we contacted one of the owners, Kenon Furlong, about a credit to our bill. At first, he said he would look into it and then went silent. Numerous attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful. Needless to say, we will not receive a credit. Choose your mover wisely but DO NOT choose AMS!

I used this company to move a king size bed from wake Forest to Cary on a Thursday. They charged me $600. Do not use this company they charge $50 more an hour then two men and a truck. I have used a few good men moving and storage in the past and it cost me less money to move an entire apartment from Greenville North Carolina to Raleigh. I will never use this company again please steer clear there are plenty more reasonable movers out there.

I hired All My Sons for a local move for which I needed overnight storage until closing on my home the next day. This was by far the worst moving experience of my entire 50+ year life. I have moved frequently in the past, since I have lived all over the east coast of the US., but my usual movers were unavailable due to the COVID-19 situation. Never had I had movers show up over one hour late from the agreed time, bring ZERO tools to take apart beds, refused to take down TVs from their wall mounts, and scuff every wall of the home in the process. To make matters worse, they left THEIR OWN large garbage items behind on the lawn. When I told them this was not acceptable because the home was sold and I could not leave garbage behind< they said their garbage did not fit in their truck. They had trouble fitting my belongings in the truck and said I would need to send additional truck and crew for an even higher hourly rate than quoted for the first, and additional overnight storage fee. As they unloaded, they damaged countless items of furniture, most could not be repaired so I had to have them take them when they left. Lastly, they placed my washer and dryer in place but did not even bother to plug it in. I had to hire someone to come the next day when I realized this to move the appliances for me and plug them in. Their compensation for damages took several weeks and it was an absolute joke. FROM BEGINNING TO END THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE I NEVER WANT TO LIVE THROUGH AGAIN!

Terrible on all fronts. I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to warn people not to hire this company. The lack of professionalism of the movers was appalling. The movers took no care of the dresser - the reason I hired them. They did not use blankets to cover it, and they broke off a piece of the dresser trying to rush (telling me they had two more jobs to get to, despite it already being 5pm). More critically, they followed no Covid-19 safety protocols. The salesperson assured me they would be in masks and gloves. That was the reason I hired them, because the company assured me they followed CDC guidelines. This did not happen. When I met the driver at our storage unit, I was shocked he wasn't wearing a mask or gloves. I asked him to wear a mask. He told me he wasn't even sure if the other guys had masks. I asked him again to wear a mask before going into the house. They didn't, and he observed no social distancing. I felt like I was put in an incredibly difficult and vulnerable position. If you care about being safe with your belongings or your health during the Covid-19 pandemic, stay away from this company.

This was a "whole house" local move and our 8th. Out of our 8 moves, they were the 8th best. The good: They arrived on time and moved everything without breaking any furniture. The bad: We included packing services. They packed quickly and when we unpacked we found the reason for the speed was that most things were simply dumped into boxes. Some boxes were packed upside down. We had labeled all of our rooms so boxes would end up in the right spots but lots of boxes were not labeled or mislabeled. They rushed through the packing on the first day and when they moved on the second day, lots of things weren't yet packed. The ran out of boxes and packing materials on the second day. The move was less than 15 miles, but since so much packing needed to be done, while they were done packing by mid afternoon the first day, on the second day they did not finish moving until after 10 pm. Informational: The final charges were 15-20 percent higher than the estimate. Moving is always an adventure and we always expect some issues. But we wouldn't use these guys again

Very interesting experience. We scheduled a Saturday move, but they did not show up or call. After I left messages, the general manager called the next morning to explain one of their employees had suffered a serious injury on the job the day they were supposed to move us and in getting him to the hospital they never called us. They usually don't work on Sunday, but made an exception and moved us. It was not easy to schedule a crew on such short notice, but All My Sons did it and the move was successful. I commend them for taking the extra step and make up for what had happened the day before. Yes, I would definitely hirew them again!
