We also had two reschedule twice due to a medical emergency and an asbestos abatement. Ken still managed to fit us into his busy schedule. He was very gracious.
Ken was punctual, polite, and worked without a break from 8:00 am until 7:00 pm for four and a half days until our bathroom was completed.
He handled any problems that arose with grace and inventiveness.
We are beyond pleased with our beautiful new bathroom!
Ken was on time every day. Arrived at 8:00 and left at 7:00.
He never took a lunch and was always on time.
We had a few items to fix once he was finished and he
was very responsive to our calls. Over all I would recommend Ken
to anyone who does not need a one service provider shower stall installation.
As he told me many times "I am not a plumber"
"What this customer fail to mention is how bad their walls were before I started on the shower. It took me almost entire day to install some 2 x 4's behind their walls for support. Their plumber couldn't secure the shower head to the studs because there was 2 x 4 in the place where stud should have been, I was the one who secured the shower head for him free of charge. customer's walls didn't have enough back (2" x 4" studs) support, and the walls were bowed. With customer's bowed stud and 12" x 24" wall tiles and 1/2 " x 1/2" mosaic tiles for the shower floor that the customer bought made the job highly impossible to obtain the best result. I completely explained to the customer that 12" x 24" tiles is too big to use because of the condition of their walls, and the 1/2" x 1/2" mosiac tile is not an ideal tile for shower floor, but they insisted to use the tiles.anyway. Their shower was properly done. If the customer is truly planning to redo the shower, it must be for a different reason, it cannot be because of the outcome the new shower as they claimed. I assured the customer while I was in their residence in January that if there is anything I can do further to please them, I will be more than happy to come back at free of charge, and I'm still stand by that promise. I will always do my best to every each of my customers, and I'm very proud of my work. I still have many customers that I did their showers more than 10 years ago still calling me for more jobs, and still referring me to their friends, neighbors, and relatives."
The actual work took place about 2 months later as he was already scheduled elsewhere and I needed to order all the tile. I supplied the tile and grout. He provided everything else. He showed up every day on time at 8am. He often stayed until 6 or 6:30pm to remain on schedule.
I changed a few things I wanted done once work started and he wasn't bothered by this at all. I agreed he would need to charge me more for the extra work. The additional costs were very reasonable. He didn't try to gouge me and he could have because he was already there and halfway through the work. I would have been stuck but he was an honest guy and I appreciate it.
I recommended him to my boss and his wife.
On time for initial meeting. Quote given on spot. Actual work about 90 days later. Ken left materials list for finish tile that we had onsite when he started. He brought everything else. 4 day job. Showed up early every day. We had a couple small changes to what we wanted done that he did without changing the price. Finished work looks great!! On time, on cost, looks great. Can't ask for anything else.
"Customer called me for replacement of her two broken kitchen floor tiles. Her kitchen floor was in very bad shape, there are many loose tiles and broken grout in the entire kitchen floor area. I explained to her that it may be best for her to wait until when she can replace the entire kitchen floor because her kitchen floor tile was not done properly. Her tile was installed right on top of wood sub floor instead of the tile sub floor (thin-set mixture, durock, and screws) She asked me to go ahead with the two broken floor tiles only. The two broken tiles were removed , the old dried thin-set was cleaned, new floor tiles were installed, and grout was applied on the two tiles including most of the entire kitchen floor area without extra charge. customer were at present during the time of the service. Customer approved the outcome of the service, and paid for the service. Installer provided some materials (Thin-set and grout admix) and the job took over four hours to complete. After more than three weeks, customer called and wanted her money back, saying that She did not like the service. I tried so many times to set up an appointment with her to see her floor , but the customer refused to let me see the floor, saying that she want her full amount she paid for the service back or she will write a review about it. I have explained to the customer that if there is anything wrong with my service, and if she would let me stop by and see what's wrong with my service, I will be very happy to fix it free of charge. I have done hundreds and hundreds of grout jobs, including some Raleigh area apartments, universities and many many residential home. I'm very good at it. I will always give my customer the best quality service at reasonable cost!! ."
"Customer called me for an estimate during when the Angies List Tub/shower coupon was being sold. When I went to his house, customer refused to buy the coupon instead he wanted me to give him higher estimate, says that he hate buying coupon. I found that to be strange, I reported that to my Angies list account manage, he was surprise too, he asked me his name, and I gave it to him. I gave the customer the estimate, including $250 fee for the demolition of the existing standard concrete shower (3) walls and concrete shower floor. After few weeks he called me to do the shower demolition. The shower demolition was completely done and haul away to his truck parked outside in his front yard, the demolition took almost 8hrs to complete, and was done since October. Customer has not paid for the job since October. He claimed that the demolition that cost $250.00 should include striping all the bathroom (45 sq ft) sheet rocks, cabinet and counter top, electrical park, plumbing, everything except the 2” x 4” studs. While in his house, we never discussed anything but demolition of the old shower tile walls and the shower floor, and that’s all I charged him for. Customer claimed that I damaged his wall, but he didn’t want to let me see the wall that I supposedly damaged; there was no wall damaged during time of the demolition. He has told me numerous times that he will destroy my business, if I don’t stop asking him to pay for the services provided to him in his house. I have waited for more than two months to get paid before I called him yesterday and let him know that I will take him to court if I don’t get paid before Friday It’s ashamed that there some people out there who hope to use intimidation and threats to gain free services. This customer’s review (“D”) is based on nothing. I was in his house on time, the day the job was scheduled, and the demolition was done correctly and completely. I’m dedicated to provide a complete honest and highest standard services to every customer!!"
