I will refrain from using the curse words I use when telling friends and family about this story. Suffice it to say, their labor warranty is a scam/joke requiring you to not only have regular visits but to pay for two a year regardless of whether you use/need them. If you do not officially sign up for the labor warranty and keep it maintained (aka send in a yearly check for $150 regardless of whether you actually schedule a maintenance call) it is voided. Also the parts warranty is simply through the manufacturer. After this service I requested the details for my parts warranty and to date, four weeks later, have not received them. Which I think speaks for itself. My professionalism score is mixed. The actual technicians who came to my home were fine. The CSR I talked to on the phone was belittling (telling me to "calm down" even though I was simply upset at my bill - I was neither raising my voice nor cursing at the moment). I also disliked feeling like I had to fight to bring my cost down to a realistic number. I was, honestly, treated like "well you're in the wrong because you didn't pay us our yearly labor warranty fee". They installed the AC in January of 2012. I called them in April 2013 for a diagnostic check (it wasn't getting as cold as my roommate needed it). When my AC went out in the hottest part of this summer (2014) and they said my evaporator coils were completely rusted out and needed to be completely replaced this was noted on the invoice as "normal wear and tear". I am not an expert. I know that. But to completely replace a large part of the air handler 30 months (approx 2.5 years) after replacing the unit and the handler seemed excessive and, I would hope, beyond "normal wear and tear". And I was upset that if the damage was as extensive as they said, why did someone not notice a leak or beginning damage last April? When you take your car in for an oil change, they tell you if your brakes need work. AND LASTLY!!!! While the techs were there eventually fixing everything they found an electrical short in some switch and were able to fix it. The tech said "this is covered under the warranty", quoted me a price, I wrote a check. He went out to his van, called it in and the front office told him that he was REQUIRED to charge it separately even though it is usually covered under the warranty. That was a nice bleep you at the end I thought. Just to make sure I understood what they thought of me is how I felt at the end of it.

Description of Work: Green Country replaced a heat pump at our new house. They did everything they promised at a very high quality level. We had another quote that was several hundred dollars less but the Green Country equipment, quality, service and warranties were definitely worth the extra expense. If price is your only concern you may be able to find someone cheaper but the overall value of Green Country exceeded my expectations.

The company initially didn't call me back maybe cuz I left message before hours. I called them during hours two day later and from there everything was great. I am skeptical about service contracts but I diid sign up for one which saved my !5%. I'm always happy for savings though I wish it would've been all done together and so I could have saved more. On the other hand, they got someone out here super fast and he was excellent. He explained stuff to me in plain English, seemed like a straight shooter and even put all my junk back that I had pulled out so he could get to the AC drain. Very nice serviceman and very professional service all around. Best part, the mold smell in my house is gone!!!

The technician was on time, courteous and helpful. Although this was a fairly routine service for the summer season I had additional questions for the tech because we are new to the area and our house having just moved in last October. I needed to understand a few things about the cooling system and the tech took his time to answer all my questions in addition to performing the service on two systems at our house.

Green Country Service has been excellent to work with. They made appointments quickly and were prompt in working as scheduled. Their technicians have been courteous and patient. I am thrilled with my new system and with the knowledge that they are there for me if needed.
Description of Work: The last service (inspection) was done at no charge, as it was included in the installation. In November of 2013, this provider installed a completely new heating and air system at my residence. This included new duct work.

Green Country Heating and Air has been out to my home on 2 occasions this year and once last year. Last year, they replaced the fan in my unit. This year my AC shut off on one of the hottest days this year. I had just arrived home from work and called them at about 5:30. They answered and had someone at my house within an hour!!!!!! I could not believe it. The technician(Jamie) was very courteous and professional. He explained everything to me and repaired my unit. He also suggested I sign up for the service plan and explained why it would be beneficial to me. I signed up (it was only $150 and they come out twice a year and do a system check, plus you get a 10% discount on any services they may need to do). About two weeks later, he returned as scheduled and checked my AC unit. I would recommend Green Country Heating/Air to anyone! In fact, I just recommended them to my neighbor tonight!

I was was educated on how the service plan would help keep my heat and air in good functional status. My serviceman was professional, prompt, and trustworthy. He was knowledgeable and competent. I also want to note that I called on a Friday night around 6 pm and a serviceman was there by about 7 pm. I will continue to use Green Country and refer all my friends to Green Country Service Heat

I have an older heat pump and it stopped working on one of the coldest days of the winter. I was concerned that it would be several days before someone could come look at it. I was also pretty sure I needed a new unit, which I worried would cost thousands and add even more days of dealing with the freezing temperatures while I waited for delivery and installation. I called Green Country Service because they were recommended by a friend who has used them for years. Not only did they come the same day, but they fixed the problem on that visit -- after I told them I was sure I needed a new system! The technicians were extremely polite and helpful, they explained exactly what had gone wrong and how they repaired it, and it only cost $150 for parts and labor. I will definitely use them again.

I knew exactly who they were when the truck pulled up, very good looking easy to read service trucks. Jason made sure he put on shoe covers before walking in my home, which i told he that was not needed but he said very politely "this is our company policy and he wants to make sure he does not get anything on my floors" so I thought that was cool that he follows protocol. He made sure that i clearly understood everything that he did. The office called to follow up with me to make sure my visit went well and it did.
Description of Work: Upon a referral from fellow co workers I called Green Country Service to come out and see why my a/c would not cool down. They responded on time which was great as i was taking off work to make the appointment. The technician Jason was very knowledgeable and got right to the issue. Apparently the unit was never set right with the needed air speed and he had to adjust that and then adjust the refrigerant levels. This unit has never cooled so well. I will recommend these guys to others. Good job.

The installation was mostly fine with both the water heater and gas fireplace insert. What disturbed me about the experience was that they were suppose to install a new electrical outlet for the water heater (it needs electricity to light the pilot) but instead, they just used one of my extension cords to plug the water heater into an existing outlet, many feet away from the water heater. This may not sound like a big deal, however, this is in my crawl space where there is only 1 electrical outlet which is already used by my sump pump and home vacuum system. They chose to unplug my home vacuum system and plug in the water heater instead. Once I realized that my home vacuum system no longer worked and went under the house to investigate, I realized what they had done. So they not only disabled the vacuum system, they ran my own extension cord across the bare ground in the crawl space that could have easily shorted out the next time it got wet. Part of the estimate was for installing the new outlet. I called Green Country and asked them to remedy this problem. They came out promptly and installed the new outlet and indicated that they always meant to come back and do this. I do believe that they probably meant to come back but I don't believe that they ever would have come back had I not discovered the problem and called them on it. It was a matter of weeks between when they finished the first time and when I discovered the problem. They had never indicated after the first install that they needed to come back. I believe this company knows what they are doing, unfortunately, I do not trust them. Also, they assured me that they obtained the necessary permits to do the work and would have the necessary inspections. I happened to log in to the county planning department's website where I can check permits, status, etc. and noticed that they did indeed apply for the permit but also discovered that they had canceled the permit. I wondered why I never had to be home to let some county inspector in to inspect their work. Again, I have a trust issue with them.

The old vents were 30 years old and junction boxes were worn. The new vents have a higher R factor and the new vents are now reconfigured for a more efficient air flow. The crew showed up on time, worked steadily and cleaned up afterwards. We have noticed that the house seems warmer. There isn't the blast of cool air when the heat first comes on.

Green Country Service Heating and Cooling provided unethical service to my family. STAY AWAY. These guys were hungry for business and looking for their next kill. We purchased our home last May and when it came time to turn on the heat, the heat would not turn on. We saw that the previous owners had used Green Country, so we gave them a call. Nick S. came out to take a look and reported that the pilot was not lit. This was fine and I think true. Then he stated that we also had a cracked heat exchanger and as a result carbon monoxide was leaking into the house at a rate of 5ppm. Nick S. then said that the unit was unsafe, recommended not using the heat, and advised that we replace the entire system and also recommended that we replace our (well- functioning) AC unit. He then came up with various pricing plans and even financing options!!! He also tried to create more drama by exclaiming, "Did you even have this house inspected before you bought it?!" Also, they could come out to put in a new system within 48 hours. Slow business? Other HVAC guys were booked weeks, even months in advance. Now, if a HVAC company finds that a system is leaking Carbon Monoxide, they are bound (by law, I believe) to completely shut off the system. Nick S. did not do this. He simply said, "It's up to you if you want to take the risk." You can run the furnace (which he tells me is leaking CO) to "take the chill off." Second, the "dangerous levels" of 5ppm were in the range of what a gas stove produces while cooking dinner. Secondly, the heat exchanger was not cracked. We had two other HVAC companies come out and do a MUCH more detailed investigation of our furnace and found that the system was in old, but in good order. The heat exchanger is old, but it is very solid and rarely do HVAC guys see "cracked" ones.

We diagnosed a 25+ year old 60% efficient gas furnace was leaking carbon monoxide into the home after lighting the pilot. We use carbon monoxide detectors to check the levels entering homes. This is one of the ways to determine if there is an issue with the heat exchanger. After a 20 minute period the carbon monoxide levels reached up to 5 ppm. This is a low enough level that does not pose and immediate danger but can get worse very quick. There is no law that requires us to shut down the unit at certain levels , businesses have there own guidelines to follow and all are about the same, Our range is 6 ppm or higher. Being that their unit was below 6 ppm we left it on but gave the homeowner a warning of what could happen if not addressed. When using a carbon monoxide detector, you can check the levels in the home as the heat exchanger heats up and the unit is running. This is one of the most accurate ways to detect. Cracks can be bare the naked eye and will only open up once the heat exchanger gets to full operation temperatures. There is not other way of checking the system for leaks while the unit is running because tearing the unit apart will not allow you to run test it. We did not miss lead the customer. We provided a complete an accurate diagnoses of their system. If we did not check for carbon monoxide on a 25+ year old furnace that has reached its life span than we would be liable for negligence. The member was given 2 replacement options, one replacing the furnace only and one replacing with a high efficient system that includes the A/C. We were only trying to provide the customer with all the options, so if they wanted to have this system replaced they would be able to take advantage of the 2010 federal tax credits. Once again if we didn't do our job as thorough as we did they would be thinking everything is ok with the system and would missed out on tax credits and had a safety hazard with the furnace. We only tried to inform this customer with our findings and provided them with a comprehensive report. If the member chooses to take another companies word over ours, than that is there right. We are not "looking for the next kill" by any means. We strive for a 100% customer satisfaction and only wish the best for our customers.

HVAC maintenance 100% correct. Hydronic floor repair 100% correct Plumbing total failure. Despite repeated calls to Green Country, there was no contact from plumber until following day. Update: The work of the provider was 100% AOK. They just need to be more careful about other providers they recommend.
Description of Work: Called for 3 items: 1) Start annual maintenance contract on HVAC. Prompt arrival, competent service, reasonable price. Technician left area spotless. 2) Repair hydronic heated floor. Technician correctly diagnosed complex system. When part arrived, technician repaired system and restored to as new condition. Again, technician left area spotless. 3) Green Country does plumbing too. At approx 830 AM asked for drain problem assistance. They subcontracted. No results, no call back from sub by 5PM, so found another provider of service. Will not use Green Country for plumbing in future.

We strive to provide 100% customer satisfaction. When this customer called he had stated he was having a issue with his floor heating system. We set up a service appointment to diagnose this. The morning of the appointment, received a call asking if we can look at his drainage issue he was experiencing. We are not plumbers however a lot of issue do aver lap so we told him we would look at it. Once the technician arrived and diagnosed the heating issue he reported to the office that this was a bigger issue than we can handle. At that time we contact our plumbing company we use to contact the homeowner to set up an appointment. Apparently this did happen. We never heard back after we completed are repairs and thought everything was ok. We apologize if this was any inconvenience. Please do not hesitate if you ever have a heating or cooling issue, that is what we specialize in and can repair anything!

They were amazing. The second time they came out, it was a very cold evening and I didn't even call them until 5:00pm when I got home. The young man who came didn't get there until 9:00pm and stayed until he got the furnace running again. He had been working since 7:00am that morning but was polite, helpful and apologetic that we were having problems. We have worked with Green Country Air in 2 locations over the last 18 years and have NEVER been disappointed with any of their work. And this last time was just the best. Truly a terrific company.
Description of Work: I had them come out in early fall to inspect my heating system and then I signed up for a service where they would come out if anything went wrong for the next year. Good thing, because my 12 year old furnace went on the fritz twice in the next few months. They sent out folks immediately each time.
