Ray's Lawn Service

It went great & we are completely happy with the job done here & will be using Ray's on a regular basis. We have already made arrangements for Them to come back and completely mulch the landscaped flowerbeds and trim back out trees. I have referred Reuben's (ownwer) company name throughout our neighborhood website as well as to a realtor friend of ours. May 13, 2015, update! Mr. Raynor was supposed to come back out yesterday to do regular lawn maintenance in addition to put down mulch in our landscaped shrub areas...he never called...never showed up and never returns calls or text messages. Although we were thrilled with the service and rates we received the first time around and made arrangements to have his service on a regular basis and even confirmed on Friday May 8, 2015, we have yet to hear. We hope all is well but have found another service to use.

This is one of the most unorganized business persons that I have encountered. If dealing with this person, be sure to have him come to you for payment and get a RECEIPT immediately. The company came to my home to cut the grass. Since I am a professional, I was not home during the day. He gave me an address to mail the check to, so I did. After a week, he stated that he never received the check. I immediately contacted my bank and they stopped payment on the check and issued another (I use automatic check service with the bank). That check cleared (check number 87701 on 5/7/13). He cut my grass again on 5/6/13 for which I sent a check. He called me a week later stating that he was coming to cut my grass. I explained that we only wanted the grass cut every three weeks unless heavy rain and we would call if it needed it sooner. He became argumentative because he wanted to cut the grass sooner stating that I had my dates wrong. I told him I did not because immediately after he cut it, I set up the bill pay to mail the check the next day. After I confirmed when we had it cut and how often we wanted it cut, I thought that was the end of that problem. On 5/28/13 after returning from a trip, my grass was not cut. I called and he said that he never received the second payment which is why he didn't cut the grass on the third request. I explained to him that he did receive the check because the check cleared. Check number 924467 cleared on 5/16/13. He said that he never received it. I told him that I would contact the bank to have them check in to it. The bank verified that the checks were cashed by Reuben E. Raynor who is the gentleman that runs the company. I do not like being called a liar or someone who doesn't pay their bills. A professional business person should have record of payment. Not only did I pay my bill, but I also paid for a canceled check. Bad bad business. Then, on top of it, he has no record of when he cuts grass and argues with the customer as to when the last cut was. Bad business. Once I told him that I could have the bank personally send him a letter stating when the checks cleared and a copy of the cashed checks, he never apologized or acknowledged that he was wrong. The only issue I had with the actual cut was that my front yard had circles as if there was no pattern of cut just riding around in circles. This of course went away when the grass grew back.

Ray is personable and professional. He arrived on time and had two helpers with him. He ask what I wanted done exactly and gave me a reasonable price. They got started and I went to get some mulch for them to put out. They used all the mulch I brought back but failed to put any around the tree in front yard or around a rose bush beside the garage. To be fair, I did not specify where to put the mulch and they put all 5 bags in the flowerbed. When I pointed out the two places that also needed mulch, Ray offered to take some out of the flowerbed and put it where I wanted it but I told him we would buy more and put it out ourselves. When they were finished I walked around the house and ask that they redo the edging around the patio, which they did. The three men worked approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. I feel like they did a good job and charged a fair price. However, I do suggest that you inspect their work while they are still there. I could tell by Ray's response to my request that they redo the edging around the patio that he wants his customers to be satisfied. My yard looks good! I will used this business again and would recommend them. Thanks Ray!

He maintains a level of professionalism at all times and he is prompt. We are very pleased with the service he provides.
