I have owned and operated a successful and award-winning construction and landscaping business for over 20 years in the Charlotte, NC area. In fact my company has won an Angie's List Super Service Award in at least 1 category each year for the last 9 years in a row. I have used Super Sod on and off over those 20 years. Utilizing my experiences with this company for over 20 years, the best way that I know to describe this company is they have a box store customer service mentality, the quality of their product is hit or miss, they appear to charge the highest price in the area for their product, and (in my experiences over the years and on multiple occasions) appeared to act in an unfair and deceptive manor by charging me for 500 SF/pallet when in fact they only provided me with 450-480 SF per pallet. Apparently, (in my view) they must realize that most of their customers do not actually take the time to measure the sod that they are buying from them and so when you figure how many pallets they are selling and how much they are charging per square foot, it would add up to a pretty significant boost to their profit margins (that's my best guess). When I have brought these concerns to the employees and management, they have not denied the allegations, but simply dismissed them. The most I ever got them to offer was a refund on the exact amount of sod that was proven to be missing from the pallet (which is pretty tough if you plan to install it within the few days that it takes them to come out and verify). I even had an experience with them once in which they not only shorted me on the quantity of sod that I ordered and paid for, but they had mowed it right before they farmed it and sold it to me which hid the fact that it was infested with poa annua (annual bluegrass). For those of you that do not know, it is a noxious weed that is hard to kill without damaging the new sod and it grows 3 times faster than fescue, so when not freshly mowed, it really stands-out and looks bad. Long story short, we had to rip-up a large portion of the sod a week after it had been installed, and after a Super Sod representative assured me that they would "make things right", they stiffed me and left me stuck with paying for all the labor to fix an issue that I am confident that they knew about and tried to cover up. If you wish to do business with this organization and the employees that seem to boldly defend their actions, I can only offer one thing to say...caveat emptor (buyer beware).

The pallet was delivered ahead of time and everything was exactly as expected. The only issue we had was they dropped it off at the curb without asking where to put the stone. We would have preferred them to place it elsewhere. The location they placed it caused us to need ot move the 1.5 tons of stone further than we would have liked (it was going to the back of our property instead of the front) If we wanted it at the front of our property we would have picked it up with our pick up truck and saved the delivery charge. The point of paying ~$70 for the delivery was so that we could have them forklift it more towards the back yard.

The fescue has performed as expected, great results. The company made an error in scheduling my delivery - I was waiting for delivery on a Friday afternoon, never heard from them, finally called around 3pm asking if they were on the way to my house. They did not even have me scheduled due to an error - I had specifically asked for Friday so I wouldn't have to wait on Saturday to begin rolling our sod. However, they had put me down for Sat. After several calls back and forth, they said there was no way they could deliver Friday, but would have someone out to my house at 6:30 Sat morning. They didn't come until 7:20a.m. As I said, the product was great, the man I talked to about which grass type, how much to get, etc was great. Just some delivery glitches.

I'VE PUT IN ABOUT 20 YARDS IN MY LIFE AND THIS IS THE WORST SOD I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. THIS ''SOD'' WAS THIN, FULL OF HOLES, WEEDS, HAD VARYING WIDTHS. I HAD TO REPLACE 15 ROLLS AFTER TWO WEEKS, MORE WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED SOON (I DID PREP THE SOIL AND WATER IT CORRECTLY). THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE GRASS HAS NOTHING TO HOLD IT TOGETHER UNTIL IT TAKES ROOT, BECAUSE IT IS SO THINLY CUT. MANY OF THE ENDS OF THE ROLLS ON THE PALLETS WERE PLACED TWO ROWS DOWN ON THE PALLET, WHICH MADE IT EVEN MORE DIFFICULT TO GET OFF THE PALLETS. THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE OF 3.5 PALLETS TURNED INTO 5.5 BECAUSE THEIR MEASUREMENT OF 500 SQUARE FEET PER PALLET IS NOT ACCURATE! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY.

SOD WAS DRIED OUT. THEY REPLACED SOME OF THE SOD BUT IT HAD A LOT OF WEEDS IN IT.
