Kale Lawn Care

My long-time yardman retired, so I consulted Angie for a replacement. After talking with several, I selected Jeff Kane and his team, based on his professional demeanor and his quote. I have been delighted with the service he's provided. Kale's cuts & edges my lawn on a scheduled basis - and never fails to clean the driveway and blow leaves off both my decks. I had them take care of a looming erosion issue, where runoff was occuring along the side of my house, going downhill to a stream. After looking carefully at the site, he proposed a solution,, which was both functionally and price effective. I recommend this team to anyone looking for dependable, fair service.

Despite the fact that they were running behind due to rainy weather in September, they were able to work us into the schedule. The quality of the work was outstanding, and they showed up exactly when they said they would. Very professional organization, will definitely use them again!

Jeff Kale came to our home to discuss our lawn fertilization needs. We contracted with him for core aeration, seeding, fertilization, and spreading pellitized lime. He gave us a cost estimate, and a date on which he could perform these services. On that date, his crew arrived on time, and promptly completed the task. They were courteous and competent. I note that they avoided the irrigation spray heads (which I had marked) with their core aerator (which would have damaged them). The lawn was aerated, seeded, limed, and fertilized -- approximately 1/2-2/3 A of grass. The gras germinated well, and the lawn now (7 weeks) looks terrific. It was tall enough to cut after 4 weeks. I will continue to use Kale Landscaping for my lawn fertilization and treatment, and have scheduled a winter fertilization. I have recommended Kale Landscaping to my friends. The 2012 service was excellent. Jeff's crew came early morning, completed the core aeration (which digs small plugs of dirt), and applied the seed, fertilizer, and lime. I had worked significantly to kill weeded bermuda grass in my fescue lawn. These bare spots now have a good stand of new grass. Regrettably, nothing keeps the squirrels from digging in the lawn to bury acorns. I continue to recommend Kale Landscaping.

The lawn cutting service was ok but no edging was done. The disturbing part is that I hired them for overall landscaping but they never took a tour of my yard and only recommended aerating and seeding. It took a couple other landscapers and friends to inform me that my yard actually needed regrading. I had my boyfriend call him back and the owner stated that he didn't recommend regrading because he thought I couldn't afford it. Way to make a judgment about someone without knowing or asking. Anyway, I figure bussiness must be booming for Kale Lawn Care because he missed out on a $2,000 job I hired some one else to do.

I emailed Jeff Kale to tell him what I wanted to do in my yard. He called me back almost immediately. He came out to see my yard and listened to what I wanted. I felt like he could see my vision and he even improved on it! He offered suggestions that I had not thought of. The day of the installation went off without a hitch. Jeff's dad, Norm, came with two helpers. They were hard workers and were skilled at what they were doing. They even trimmed back some tree branches and spread extra pine needles. They were professional and took pride in their work. I plan to have Norm come back to work on some other issues on my house exterior and yard in the future. I am very glad I chose Kale Lawn Care to do my landscaping and plan to use them again.

Wonderful service! His team does a thorough, professional job very quickly and the results are always impressive. I was home one day when they came for the weekly yardwork and I was amazed at how quickly they completed the job: grass neatly mowed, pavements and back deck blown clean, edges neatly trimmed. Because of the good work that he had been doing, I asked if he could also trim my holly bushes (trees) several months ago and he's been maintaining them ever since! He very responsive, reliable, reasonably priced, and a wonderful person to work with. I'm so glad I found him (on Angies List I might add) and grateful for the good work that he and his team always do.

My experience was odd. I called for an estimate, and the owner came out right away. He was very professional and told me he could help me, explained how and promised to send an estimate. The estimate never came, so I called him back. He said he had sent it, but would resend. It never came, so I called again.( I would have given up, but this company is so highly rated on Angie's List, I assumed this was just a fluke.) The owner then emailed me a quote (and acknowledged that he had not sent it the first time), and I authorized the work. He said he would get back to me with dates. Again, I had to follow up to get dates for the work. Then, no one came on the day the work was to be done. Granted, it was a Friday before a holiday weekend, but no one called or anything. I waited about 4-5 days, and when no one ever showed up to do the work or called us to explain the delay, I finally gave up and sent the owner an email telling him to forget it.

Jeff introduced me to Sergio, who headed up his crew. Sergio was very easy to work with, polite and explained to the other crew members how I wanted things done. The crew was pleasant and worked well as a team. They did exactly what I wanted done the way I wanted it done.

They did a great job! they actually went above and beyond what I expected and pulled weeds in my lawn as well!

Great! Jeff was responsive to my phone inquiry. He visited to give me a quote and started service on the agreed upon date. The crew shows up when scheduled. The yard looks wonderful.

Kale Lawn Care was the lowest estimate among three that we got. This was not the only factor in our selection; it seemed that Jeff knew exactly what we wanted.They were prompt at the agreed upon times for both the estimate and the start of work. The installation and cleanup of the property was amazing. Jeff's crew (Sergio and the 2 others) did an amazing job in a matter of 8 hours. The manner of professionalism by all the people we have met, at Kale Lawn Care, is beyond that which would be expected. I have already recommended this company to several friends. Within just hours of the completion the owner of the company had sent an E-mail making sure that we werre satisfied, thought that was neat. We will be using them for other services over the course of the year..

He comes over and just does what he's suppose to do and the work in fabulous. His prices are very reasonable. He told me he would treat my yard as if it's his own, in which he has delivered!

The yard of our new house had been maintained only minimally over the last few years. Kale Lawn Care was one of the first I found on Angie's list, and they were able to send a crew over for a basic mowing almost immediately. We met with Jeff Kale to discuss what we wanted done overall, and he scheduled a team to come take care of it. One of the guys from the team was injured the weekend before he was to work on our yard, but Jeff Kale called and emailed me to keep me informed. Apart from doing a great job with the landscaping, communication with this company has been uniformly excellent.

He emailed me an estimate that reflected our meeting, although the price that we discussed was not the same as what he told me in person. He sent me a formal agreement, just as he said he would - but again the agreement was different than what we discussed. The contract that he sent me was very detailed and the language of the agreement made me uneasy about hiring this company for their services.

Jeff Kale and his team will start the first week of August.

Although I contacted two other landscapers as well, Mr. Kale was the only one to respond in a timely fashion. Mr. Kale met with me and we discussed the work to be performed in detail. During their work the crew accidentally removed some grapevines but Mr. Kale went out of his way to replace them and went above and beyond to assure my satisfaction. I would highly recommend his company and would definitely hire him again.

Great service! Very refreshing to speak to an actual person...every time you call. Quick turnaround between initial conversation and finished product. Jeff (owner) insured quality work and even came by the house once the project was complete to do his own survey and check in with me to make sure their work was satisfactory. Highly recommend!

Kale Landscaping came highly recommended by Angie's List & I can certainly understand why. I had irrigation & sod put down prior to Jeff Kale and his team coming in and landscaping my yard. He walked thru the property with me and was able to see my vision and make it come to life in just an hour time frame. Jeff personally responded to my inquiry with in 2 hrs of posting in thru Angie's List, very impressive. I am so tickled with my new lawn, I have lived in my home for 6 yrs and have been waiting to do this since the day i moved in....it is very true "Good things come to those who wait". Kale performs my regular lawn services such as fertilization and has historically done a good job. I contacted Jeff to see about cleaning up 7 beds, lay pine straw 4, mulch in 3. In addition installation of small stones to divert water along the driveway, down the sidewalk leading to the front door which during heavy rains were experiencing problems with erosion. Good overall experience and water no longer a problem.

So sad...thought I wanted to work with Kale from the information and professionalism that I recieved from the first phone call but did not show for ANY of the appts. set for an estimate of the requested services. The first time they were supposed to come out on a Friday, they cancelled due to one of thier employees had an accident (which I completely understand) and rescheduled for Tuesday. Tuesday they did not show up but let us know they would be there on Wednesday, did not show but called on Thursday and scheduled time on Friday around lunchtime. At 2:40 I called Jeff Kale and what I had not realized is that he had contracted someone else from an entirely different company to come out. I told Jeff that I needed more dependable service and to go ahead and cancel the appt. all together. At 2:45 I got a call from the contracted group (ARP Lawn) and explained the problem....started to ask questions as to who he was, what landscaping company he worked for, what services, etc. and he promptly told me to call back if I needed him but did not answer my questions. Hence...not hiring him either. He had a shot for a second but it was clear he did not want my business either. Must start my search over agian. The whole thing was ridiculous.

We are blown away by how good the yard looks! The crew did a great job and the attention to detail with clean-up and trimming is top notch. They also spread a little left over mulch on the other side of the driveway and near our HVAC units, knowing that it would improve our curb appeal. Nice touch. We couldn't be happier with your service.

I contacted Jeff Kale by email and he responded very quickly(the next day) to my request for an estimate for yard work. He arrived promptly to our appointment and seemed eager to do the job. I was especially grateful for this b/c another company who gave me an estimate seemed disinterested in a "small job" like mine. Jeff listened and took notes of what I wanted and as he had promised, I had an estimate within 2 days of our meeting. When I contacted him with questions, he was easily accessible by telephone and was very helpful. The day after Jeff and his crew finished the job, he called me to f/u. When I mentioned that one of the trees was trimmed crooked, he came out the next day to fix it. Needless to say, I was very happy with the customer service I received. Best of all, my front and back yard has never looked so beautifully groomed! It has definitely improved my home's curb appeal. I highly recommend Kale Landscaping. You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I hired Jeff Kale and his crew at the beginning of the summer, and we have been very pleased with his service and professionalism thus far. Initially, we were very hesitant in hiring a service to take care of our lawn; particularly because we didn’t think anyone would do as good a job or care about our lawn as we did. And with any lawn service, our biggest concern in hiring a service was to avoid anyone that was simply doing the “mow and go”. Thankfully, Jeff and his team proved us wrong! Since the beginning, Jeff has been extremely pleasant to work with and very professional. Of the most recognizable qualities that stands out about Jeff and his team is that if I ask for something….they get it done! Jeff is easy to get a hold of and is very quick to respond to my calls and emails. I’ve worked with a lot of contractors in the past when we renovated our home, and I’ll be the first to say that it’s hard to find someone that will actually do what they say they are going to do. It was extremely refreshing to find someone that did just that.

In our first meeting, I provided Jeff with a laundry list of items for which I wanted estimates. Jeff spent well over 2 hours at our home with my wife and me and explained, in detail, what he could do for us, the work that he would have to subcontract, and prices. Jeff also made several good suggestions and assisted me in avoiding a large expenditure (purchasing and installing sod) by stating that with his assistance in aerating, seeding, and weeding/feeding we would have a healthy lawn within a year. He also suggested some ways that we could create a natural screen/fence through the use of trees as well as sprucing up a berm in our backyard with shrubs. All in all, Jeff’s suggestions were practical, aesthetically pleasing, and cost effective. In addition to the landscaping issues that I noted, I also mentioned to Jeff that we have been having problems with our lawn’s irrigation system and also wanted to erect a Pergola over our patio. As luck would have it, Jeff had brought his father, Norm, with him to our meeting. Norm is a skilled handyman and, as it turned out, was Jeff’s primary “subcontractor.” Norm has already been very helpful in addressing our irrigation issues and is working with a partner to provide an estimate for the Pergola. After our initial meeting, we contracted with Jeff to spread lime/pre-emergent on our lawn, limb-up trees/shrubs, and spread 10 yards of mulch. On the scheduled date, Jeff’s team showed up on time, performed the work efficiently, and did a great job of cleaning up after they were through. Had I not seen the mulch spread around the beds and trees, I may not have known that they were ever there. Overall, we have been very pleased with Jeff and his team. He seems to be honest, reliable, and have integrity. As many of you will attest, having been burned by landscapers in the past, the qualities I mentioned are invaluable.
