I contacted Jeff Kale based on other positive reviews that I saw on Angie's List, because my former landscaper is no longer in business. Although I like to do a lot of my own regular lawn care, a large dead tree had fallen in my back yard during a recent storm, and was much too big of a do-it-yourself project to tackle. I called Jeff and he quickly returned my call, went to the house while I was at work (at my request) to size up the job, and then contacted me with a price, with a follow up e-mail. While speaking to him, I also asked him about putting out fresh pine needles around the planted areas as a part of the job. The work was done yesterday, and looks fantastic. Often when I have had tree work done in the past, there is a lot of debris remaining in the yard or driveway that still needs to be cleaned up afterwards, but not after this job! There was not a trace of the tree, and not a trace that anyone had been there at all - No damage to the lawn, shrubbery, etc., and the pine needles had been put out carefully around all the shrubbery, the way we would do it ourselves - Evenly and beautifully distributed. Add to this, Jeff has interacted with us throughout the process like a true professional who is dedicated to his customers and business, and is competent in executing the level of jobs he is taking on, and not just someone who is cutting grass. We will definitely call him the next time we need work done.

I'm extremely impressed with Kale. They are extremely professional, great about keeping in communication, and offer a quality service. I was buried (literally) under a mountain of leaves and finally started searching for a lawn care company. I interviewed several companies and received several quotes, but after a short visit with the owner of Kale I ended up deciding to go with them for an initial clean-up and full monthly maintenance. The initial clean up was done flawlessly, and I'm looking forward to the monthly service.

I originally wrote a bad review of this company. In the review I stated that I had scheduled an appointment and the the contractor never showed. I wrote a very harsh review. I was contacted by Angies List and also the contractor. Apparently he had written down the wrong date. We rescheduled and came to an agreement. The work was done as promised and Jeff came by later to collect payment. I noticed there were several roots which should have been removed. Jeff sent a crew to take care of the issue and apologized for it not been done right the first time. He is a man of his word and does what he says and that is difficult to find in this day and time. I also applaud Angies List in that they followed up on the review and also were willing to help me find other landscapers in the area if necessary. I'm very happy I joined Angies List. We surveyed several lawn care providers for regular monthly service and Kale had the best price and responsiveness when providing an estimate. We have been getting regular monthly service from them for the past year and are very satisfied. Any questions or potential problems have been dealt with quickly with a single phone call.

Jeff Kale and his team were great! We looked online for a lot of other guys but he seemed like he knew what he was talking about and did not charge us for a design. Some places were asking $200-$700 for just that! They were scheduled to start work on a tuesday but he called in advance and said he could come a day early which was fine with us. The first day was stripping the whole front yard since it was all crab grass. They did half of the back yard as well. They then graded it with a Bobcat and seeded the yard. We told him that we did not want the same old box bushes as everyone else so he picked out an arrangment of flowers and shrubs that are BEAUTIFUL. I told him i trusted him and he just pick out what he thought would look the best. HE DID JUST THAT! They paid great attention to detail on how the flowers were placed in front and back yard and the workers were very friendly and knowledgable. I had many questions along the way with how much to water and asking about the flowers and plants and he was always there to answer my questions. If i emailed him at 8 at night he would respond within minutes. He also came out whenever i needed him to in order to take a look at things to see how the progress was coming with the grass and plants. They are now treating are yard year round for weeds and maintenance. We have the best yard in our neighborhood and we thank you so much for that Jeff!

Jeff and his team did a great job on this project. At the first visit, Jeff's guys put some of the soil in the wrong place. When I emailed to let him know, they were here the next day to fix the issue at no cost to me. They left instructions on how to water the lawn, and the grass has been growing really well since. I will definitely be using Jeff Kale again in the future - the only reason he doesn't do my weekly service is because he is pricier than the group I use now. He will be my go-to guy for special yard projects though.

This is our second time using kale, and definitely not our last. They planted 2 trees and they look awesome. Great job as usual!

My lawn and shrubs look 1000% better now that Kale Lawn Service has taken over care of my landscape! All my neighbors have commented on the improvement. I was using another lawn care service for many years and decided to switch after meeting Jeff Kale -- and I am so glad I did. I highly recommend Kale Lawn Service.

Outstanding service, communication and professionalism. Worked directly with the owner and was very pleased with the work and the result. He was communicative, fair, and knowledgable. Grass is growing in my front yard for first time in 2 years! Overall a great experience and I plan to use them extensively in the future. A+++

Kale came over to meet us and discuss our job. He got us a quote incredibly quick and offered up two solutions. We had the work done shortly after wtihout uch delay but the workers that came didn't seem to be completely aligned with the person who quoted us on the job on what the job entailed. We were not present when the work was done and it was not 100% correct so they had to come back a second time. That was not ideal but they did come back and make good on the agreed upon job. I supect we'd use Kale's services again sometime as the demand arises

They were pretty poor. I'm still in a dispute with them. They only did about half the work. I think their quoted cost was somewhere around $800. I only paid them about half. They never finished the job. What they did, they did good. Not great, but good. They came out and did the work, they came out and scheduled an appointment quickly, but they never came and do it again.

The project was held up slightly due to weather but Jeff Kale was very attentive and put down the turf as close to the date as expected. I'm writing this review several months after the turf was installed in order to fairly comment on the project. At first, the grid pattern was noticeable but after watering it in and having it take root, the grass is now a very good looking lawn. It is thick and healthy with little to no weeds. It has withstood the heavy (and often) summer rains and hot fall. Quite a few people have commented on my "new" lawn and how good it looks. Jeff Kale and his crew did a good job. I'm glad I hired him to do this. He was always available when I called to discuss any areas of concern. I have a hard time growing and maintaining (fescue) grass. But this Zoysia lawn is great. It looks like fescue but thicker and more tolerable of heat.

I just bought a house and thought it best to drive around the neighborhood looking for a landscaper. I was fortunate to meet Desmond at a neighbors house and he instructed me to call Jeff. From owner to staff nothing but great experience. Jeff informed me of a two week delay which although I was anxious I'm glad I held out. Wow what a transformation!! I joined Angie's list after meeting with Jeff because of the ease of doing business with his company!! Win win. Great salt of the earth guy keeping charlotte looking great with an ever growing successful business. Why is he growing??? Because Jeff is honest. Dependable. And runs a great team!!! Thanks Jeff!! my neighbors and I are thrilled.

Jeff personally gave estimate, was present at beginning of work, and checked work later. He was prompt, professional and his crew did a great job. Highly recommend.

It went well. Jeff's crew came out & knew exactly what to do and got it done in a short amount of time. Our front yard looks great!

Missed Jeff once while he was on vacation but called him again after seeing the trucks in my neighborhood and noticing that all the yards looked very good. Jeff came out when promised, assessed my yard and gave me a fair price for monthly maintenance plus weed control. His crew is on time every week (even with all the rain we've had, they are never delayed!). Their equipment ensures a clean cut and they leave everything nice and neat when they are done. I recently moved back in to the house after renting it for several years and the yard had been severely neglected. I also had Jeff provide a quote for overhauling my back yard in the fall which will be done the last week of August. I like that Jeff meets with his clients personally and he is easy to get in touch with and very responsive. I have nothing but weeds in my backyard at the moment and Jeff makes sure his crew at least keeps them low and out of the way until it's time to wipe everything out and start fresh. I look forward to seeing the transformation in August and will update this review with before and after pictures when it's time.

They took all dirt from my front and replaced it with loam, and straightened out the edges of my lawn. They are good workers. They were on time, quick, and they cleaned up beautifully.

Jeff and his crew have been great. Everything got off to a slow start because of the weather, but we were so pleased with his initial work that we signed up for the weekly lawn service. Our yard was looking rough, but Jeff and his crew came in, and in just a couple of months, it is looking green and healthy.

We are very happy with the work these hard workers did. Everyone was on time, courteous, professional and very hard working. .we are planning to have them come back to do some more work for us.

Everything started out great. Had a few issues that went undone with no communication. I waited for Jeff to contact me when I should have contacted him. We got everything worked out. They now take care of my yard on a weekly basis and doing a great job.

We have a monthly contract of $200. They do a great job.

Mr. Kale is very professional. He and I spoke on the phone and he came out that same day to look at the work I wanted done. He sent me an email with his bid just as he promised he would. Work was done on the promised day (in fact Mr. Kale performed the work on the date I requested (I had company coming to visit). Everything was done just as discussed except for one small misunderstand between him and his crew. I called him and it was corrected the next day to my complete satisfaction. Mr. Kale was very easy to work with and was willing to take a small job.

It was a tremendous transformation and great experience. His crew was awesome. We sold the house in 1 Day. I am having him do other work for us now too.
