WOW - There is not enough room on this page for me to really express how pleased I am. This is by far the most professional, pleasant contractor I have ever used. Everyone was extremely helpful and pleasant, they explained everything thoroughly, and there were no unpleasant surprises. The job they did was perfection - and trust me, I am very particular about the quality of work done in my home. The floors are stunning - I am SOO HAPPY! They were on time, finished when they said they would - and completely delivered flawlessly. Not to mention they cleaned up so well, I really didn't have to do anything. I've saved for a long time for my new floors and it was totally worth the wait! This is as close to a perfect job as I have ever seen - and believe me, I know it takes a lot of dedication and skill to deliver this smooth an install. I'm planning in possibly having them do my countertops as well. I would not hesitate a bit to recommend J Wood to handle any project for your home. Outstanding!

I cannot tell you how professional and kind Nate was and how much helpful information he provided us. I really wish we could've selected them, but their labor rate was the highest one we were quoted and unfortunately it just put the quote out of our budget. We had also planned to pay with our credit card which additionally raised the cost of the project making it totally out of reach for us. I have no doubt J-Wood is one of the best companies out there and would do extremely high quality work. Again, we definitely would have worked with them but the price was beyond our reach. We will definitely contact them again for future projects.

The guys at J Wood are THE BEST! From the very first time I was in the showroom, everything went right. I had so many questions as this was my first experience with wood laminate flooring. Nate was so patient and thorough, answering all my questions satisfactorily. Jose was wonderful when he came to measure and both Jose and Nate made sure that my project was done ON TIME and ON BUDGET. No surprises and everything came out beautifully! Even the product itself was better than I had imagined. Not only would I use this company again but I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else!

The team was very profesional and prompt. They went out of their to make us happy with our floors. I would suggeset J Wood to anyone who needs hardwood flooring.

Superb service. The job was completed efficiently and professionally and the company did everything they could to make us happy. The original finish did not hold up as expected to our dogs' nails and some scratches became apparent after a few weeks. The company came out and inspected and then arranged to buff out the scratches and put down a new top coat that was commercial grade. They did this work at no charge to us, even though the new finish was a more expensive product. They did all the moving of the furniture and all the work with no additional charge to us. They were very responsive and willing to do what was necessary to make the job right. It is also of note that the products they use are non-toxic and quick drying. That meant the inconvenience was minimal and we did not have to move out to have the work done.

The quality of product and services provided was outstanding. The men showed up for three days and performed all work in a timely manner. They returned a fourth day for touch-up and making certain that everything was completed satisfactorily. The men were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. The workers as well as management strived to please us as customers. Would not hesitate to hire J Wood again and certainly will recommend them to friends and family.

I didn't go with J Wood Flooring because they were significantly higher than the company that I chose.

Writing a review such as this is difficult because we did not choose to utilize their services. I can only report on the exchange of info we received when getting an estimate on the work we needed to get done. Again, they were responsive, prompt and courteous, but their cost was higher than the company we chose to do the work.

If your looking for professionalism, integrity,honesty and fair price, look no further than J-wood. Nate is amazing, so educated in his craft!!! From start to finish he made it easy! We are having them do our new marble kitchen countertops as well.

The pricing was good and there were no surprises. All the three people Jose, Joseph and Nathan that I worked with were all good. They didn’t leave any mess around. They were very professional. It was just a pleasure to work with them. Jose owns the company. He came back on the day of the installation with the crew to make sure everything worked well. Everybody was fantastic. I would highly recommend them. They were very thorough. They moved all furniture, dealt with leveling issues and moved all furniture back to the right place. They even put felt pads on the bottom of the furniture base. When they left, the house was as clean as when they came and it was fantastic. It was top quality work. The company was primarily family staffed and they were just great. The floor looks beautiful.

Jose was punctual and professional. He made several recommendations. Unfortunately, his estimate came in 3 times higher than other quotes I received.

They exceed our expectations. They were patient with all our questions and very professional through the whole process. We plan to hire them to do the 2nd floor in the future.

Jose is truly an exceptional business person with high ethical values, aside from the detailed knowledge on the right products and services to perform in order to address the underlying flooring issues, while keeping costs low. The team's quality of workmanship is superior than anyone I have hired in the past. Jose does not contract the job out to anyone else and personally ensured that the job was done, which far exceeded my expectations.

They did an awesome job on the floors. Their pricing was competitive. They worked with my on pricing.

Installation was completed in a timely manner - as promised. Clean up after the install was excellent.

At the beginning, it was very nice. They helped us choose a good finish. They showed up on time each day and the crews were very nice. They used a finish that allowed us to remain in the house, so we didn't have to get hotel rooms or stay with friends. They moved the furniture for us and wrapped everything very well to protect against dust. The new finish is a beautiful color, and the wooden stairs look much better than the carpeting we had before. Also, our floors were in pretty rough shape before--hard to clean because the finish was so worn. However, we have what seem to be someone's footprints (they appear as much lighter areas) in our front hallway--not our shoe size!; you can tell where the large drum sander stopped and where the hand sanding along the edges of the walls started; there appears to have been some problem with the machine that caused us to have a wavy appearance in the floors, most noticeably in the front hall (but less noticeably all over). At first, our stairs came out much darker than the rest of the job. Initially, they said it was because the stairs were newer wood--but we didn't have the same problem with the new wood in the powder room or in the closets (it has always matched beautifully--great job with fingering the new wood into those spaces). Anyhow, they were able to sand off some of the stain and the stairs look fine now. (Joseph also pointed out differences such as the stairs getting less natural light than other areas--it all made sense.) I think that for $7,600, the results should be just about perfect. Jose, the owner, came out to look at the problems and offered to re-do the floors, but clearly didn't want to. He told us that there was no problem with their sanding machine, that it had been used on other jobs after ours with no problems. He turned off lights in each room we looked at, saying, "If there's a problem, you should see it even without having the lights on." Well, if you turn off enough lights, I can't see the floor at all, so I really didn't get the point he was making. Since then, I've made a point of looking at friends' and neighbors' wood floors, and I don't see anyone else who has either light spots in the shape of feet or waves in their floors. He did have someone come out and re-do the top (clear) coat on the front hall, I think, but I can't tell any difference from the way it was before he re-did it.

J Woods worked with me to deliver the flooring in order to acclimatized the flooring before it is laid. They came the next week and per our agreement, entered the house and layed the Shaw laminated flooring in the kitchen and hallway. They stayed in touch with me the whole time they were in the house. Any questions, they called an asked instead of assuming. They worked efficiently and quickly with a professional atitude. The floors were absolutely beautiful and I consider this the best decision I have ever made with the floors and installers. They know what they were doing, the floors do not squeak like some of the prego floors and I have been very pleased with the results. I would hire them again to lay the living room and bathroom when I am ready.

They said they where going to be there at 9am and they where ringing my doorbell at 8:58am just be sure they where on time. They moved whatever furniture that needed to be moved and worked quick and cleaned up after themselves like they where never there. We are so happy with their work, I am looking for things that need to be done so we can call them back.

We were shopping for different options for our kitchen and family room which are both high traffic areas with multiple pets and teens. J Wood was responsive and knowedgable about flooring options that they offer however they came in at almost double what our budget was even though we told them we were on a tight budget and disclosed to them how much we were looking to spend. Prior to getting the estimate of cost they told us to let them know if the amount was too much and they would try to work with us. We did not use them. They did not follow up to "work with us".

I had been planning and anticipating new flooring for the majority of my home for years, and when I was finally ready I looked on Angie's List because I wanted the absolute best people in the business, and the best value for my money. And that is exactly what I got! Everyone involved, from Nathan in the Showroom, to Jose and his son Carlos, who oversaw and directed all the work, was professional and expert and just the best to work with. I had a great deal of repairs to subflooring and tear-out and leveling that needed to be done , as I have an older home, and there had been water leaks, etc. I also had ceramic tile in the kitchen that had been applied directly over oak parquet, so the kitchen required more than twice the usual work just to tear out the old. They spent one entire day tearing out the old carpet and flooring, one day repairing and leveling, and two days installing the new. Because I have 2 dogs and an elderly Mother in poor health who requires a great deal of medical equipment, I could not just move out to a hotel during the work, and the whole crew was very careful and considerate to make my home as livable as possible for us during the work, and I really appreciated that. They also were so great about cleaning up everything as they finished. And Johnny tracked down the source of a water leak in the bathroom that my plumber hadn't repaired effectively the month before, and fixed it himself! Thank you! I love my new floors, and I would definitely recommend J M Wood to anyone who wants quality at a fair price. And they could not have been any nicer! I plan to use them again when I'm ready to re-do my bedrooms next year.

They knocked over my lazy susan that had my spices and olive oil in it and they knocked over the olive oil which was spilled into the lazy susan, my double sink and also into my salt pig that holds my sea salt and it ruined my sea salt as. One of the pins in my door hinge is missing, and they did not tell me about any of this. It was not a good experience, they were careless and sloppy.

I cannot say enough great things about my experience with J Wood (Jonathan Wood) Flooring! I had laminate installed upstairs and down with hardwood treads on the stairs and tile in the upstairs bath. From the first day I walked in and talked to Nathan and Joseph to the last day of installation, I was impressed. Nathan and Joseph talked to me about pros and cons of what I wanted to do with no pressure on "selling" me anything. Jose then came out the next day (yes on a Saturday) and measured the house. That afternoon, I had a quote from Joseph e-mailed to me. The quote was reasonable and less than one of the big box stores (said big box had also left me feeling like a small cog in a big machine). Joseph and I exchanged several e-mails finalizing the deal and setting up the install date. Joseph was funny, professional and addressed every question I had. The install went perfectly with Carlos and Johnny leading the way. All of the installers worked very hard, informed me of what was going on and when and worked with me while I worked from home during the installation. They were also very tolerant and accomodating of my cat who, to say the least, did not want them in the house. Since I live in a townhouse, I didn't want to inconvenience the neighbors and Carlos and company took care to insure no one was inconvenienced including the removal of the old carpet which they did not take to the curb until the day before my pickup day so as not to upset the neighbors. The flooring looks great in my house so you can trust that they have a quality product and know what they are doing! The detail and time they take shows they care about the job and their reputation. You are also dealing with a family business that takes pride in their work. You can definitely tell they are the "stair experts" in Charlotte. I would highly recommend J Wood Flooring to anyone without hesitation!

It went very well. They did a good job matching the hardwood flooring that already existed in the dining room. Also did a nice, seamless job with the transition to the existing hardwood flooring. They made moldings to match. They made extra effort and took care to make sure that I was satisfied. They cleaned very well after the work was completed. My kitchen looked like new.
