It went perfectly from beginning to end. J Wood Flooring truly cares about their customers. Professional, impeccable work; kindness and integrity...a joy to work with.

The floors finished up well. They have two different crews that did the work. The first crew did the sanding and refinish work. The second crew came in and did the quarter round throughout the house. There was a little trouble matching the color of the caulk that goes on the quarter round. Jose, the installation coordinator, came over looked at it and had the crew come back out and match it up. The custom air return grid turned out looking very good and was exactly what we needed. They did a nice job. It matches the floor color perfectly and looks high quality which was one of our concerns. We were nervous of putting an air return in the floor (building design dictated this type of return) and it look low quality. J-Wood did a nice job with it. Comments on pricing - J-Wood was the highest priced of the four different floor companies that we got bids from. We chose them because of the finished look they discussed. In the end they were correct. The new matching quarter round makes a difference. Also, they used a different type of finish which only takes two coats rather than three.

They were very helpful in finding the right floor for us. We didn't have any idea what we wanted so they sent us home with a book of sample colors and finishes. Then they helped us find samples that fit our style. Jose came to our home and measured the space. While he was here, Jose came up with some ideas on how to fix the transition in the hall bath. We had the floor installed in two sesions. Originally we were not going to have the living room finished in wood, but decided at the last minute to have that done too. The guys at J. Wood were great about the last minute change of plans. They managed to get the everything done for the second half of the floor in about a week. We plan to have them install the tile in our kitchen next.

Working with J Wood Flooring was really a great experience. I initially submitted my request through the form on their website, and they called me within a half-hour to discuss this. When they called, I spoke with Josef who was very knowledgeable about the various materials and the work that needed to be performed. We set up an estimate immediately. Jose came for the estimate at the scheduled date and time and was very professional and courteous. He had lots of great ideas and is actually an interior designer, so he has an eye for the aesthetically pleasing. You can tell he really knows what he's doing and has a ton of experience. Initially, I kind of wished he had brought more samples with him (he only brought two boards of different colors for the wood floors, and only one tile option, both of which were based on my prior conversation with Josef). It ended up working out fine, though, because I ultimately used the tile that he brought (since it matched perfectly the tile that I already had in the adjoining kitchen) and the wood that I chose was very close to the one that I ended up using, so they were on the right track from the beginning. Re-facing the fireplace was not initially part of my plan, but the gallery of photos on their website is very thorough and shows how re-doing the fireplace can really re-make an entire room's look and feel. Our fireplace badly needed a face-lift so I decided to do this work at the same time. It was not something that I had considered before viewing the pictures on the website, so the availability of the photo gallery helped a lot. The before/after shots are a great testament to the quality of their work and did a great job convincing me that this was the company I wanted to work with. I would recommend that anyone who is considering working with J. Wood visit their website and explore the before/after gallery. After they provided the estimate, which was extremely detailed and informative, I went to their showroom to finalize my selection of materials and actually ended up changing my mind on the color of the wood floors I wanted, so it was nice to be able to see additional options. I ended up visiting the showroom one more time so that I could finalize the decorative tile work that I wanted done on the fireplace. They had several options for this too. Nate in the showroom is also excellent - personable, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The team came at the appointed day and time and were very cordial and professional. They all introduced themselves. The work took one and a half days, as promised. I work full time and I felt they really worked around my schedule, which I appreciated very much. And the end result is absolutely stunning. Everything looks very high-end and expensive. The wood and tile floors are incredible, and the fireplace work really does pull the whole thing together. There are beautiful small decorative tile accents on it that somehow tie in the backsplash in the adjoining kitchen, so it all ties together and looks amazing. The work was done efficiently and neatly - the guys clean at the end of each day so your house is functional again. Now that the work is complete, I can't believe I waited this long to get it done. And I'm so happy that I chose J. Wood. There is other flooring work that needs to be done in the house eventually, and without a doubt, I will be happy to work with J. Wood again.

I highly recommend J Wood. Every aspect of the job was excellent. I LOVE my new floors. The sales person was very helpful with recommendations to assist my decision. He pointed out an excellent floor that was on a special promotion, so I got a great deal. They were flexible with their scheduling when I had to make a change. Their crew was very professional and worked together like a "well oiled machine." It is a family owned and operated business. Everyone is related so there will be consistency in the crew - you will get the same excellent team that I did. It even worked out well when they made a mistake in their measurement. They underestimated because they didn't measure a closet when they did the estimate. When the crew arrived, they realized the mistake and immediately ordered more flooring. Flooring has to sit in the home to get acclimated to the humidity for a few days before installation. So the crew came back on a Saturday to finish, which worked out great for me; since they finished my home office on Saturday, I didn't have to miss work. And of course, they did not charge me for the mistake. I can't imagine any service provider being better than J Wood.

The crew that installed hardwood flooring in my kitchen was excellent. Their attention to detail and craftmanship was remarkable. The labor was a bit more expensive than the other companies I evaluated but their materials were on par or a little bit lower than what I could have sourced on my own or through a competitor. All in all, I couldn't imagine having chosen a different company after seeing the work that they performed. I would highly recommend J Wood, and the bit extra I paid was well worth it.

As a returning customer we knew J Wood was fast, reliable and professional. But this time they really saved us when we were having big problems. Our great, new floors were only six weeks old when we had a bad leak at our kitchen sink. I called J Wood and they came right out and had a look. It wasn't good, and we needed to move fast to avoid more damage AND the holidays were looming. They hooked us up with a recovery service and things started to move quickly. Long story short, we needed to have a portion of the kitchen replaced. Since we had always wanted to get our countertops replaced we figured now would be the time. We had used J Wood for our wood and tile floors with great satisfaction. They came through once again with a countertop suggestion, while coordinating with the recovery service for installation of floor and countertop and the whole thing wasn't a matter of weeks like we feared but just a matter of days, and the price was very fair. Use J Wood, you''ll be glad you did.

Overall I am extremely pleased with the full J-Wood experience. I decided to visit J-Wood store based on the number of exceptional reviews I read on Angie's List. When I visited the store I found Nate to be extremely easy to work with, knowledgable, and flexible. I made him put together numerous quotes to have a Plan, A, B, C and D and he did it all without hesitation. He was able to answer all of our questions and really help us decide what would be the best option for us. It did not feel like he was pressuring us or upselling us which was nice. While I know I could have received the same product from a big-box store, I did decide to go with J-Wood based on the superior level of customer service and attention I received from Nate and Jose. On the day of installation, Jose's team came to my house as scheduled. Everyone introduced themselves to me and put me to ease that these were the people who were about to rip apart my house. I was extremely happy with the work crew and how conscientious they were during the 4 days they were at my house. Everyone genuinely seemed to care about my house and my satisfaction with their work. I would recommend this company to friends and family without hesitation and if we decide to install hardwoods on the second floor of the house, we will call Nate & Jose again to do the job.

They were extremely professional, and they did the work at the right price. When they did the floors, they put on the wrong type of finish. They came back the next day to do the whole thing over again for no charge.

They have finished the job, but they came back because I asked them to. There was something that they needed to fix because they didn’t have the piece. They were very easy to work with. They seemed to know what they were doing. They came in and did their work. We’ve stayed in the home while they were doing. They were very special and my colleagues were early trying to wind up when we could so that we could be home without people working. They did a good job. Overall, they were excellent. Their price was comparable to other people. Their price was good. The quality was very good. Their responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were excellent. I would use them again in the future.

We went to J Wood because of their listing on Angies. It described a company that was very, very knowledgeable about floors, materials AND volatile chemicals. This was important to us because we can't tolerate fumes and odors - allergies are a problem. Many contractors don't really know how to deal with people who have trouble with fumes but J WOOD is completely expert. When we planned our project, Nate was diligent and reassuring. We ended up with products that were fantastically beautiful, sustainable, and zeroVOC. The first estimate was a little higher than we wanted so we made some adjustments and they were completely supportive and proferssional about making sure it fit our needs and budget. When it came time to install, JWOOD swung into action. I have to say they come to work and work until the job is done. The workers were neat and professional. I especially appreciate the consideration they showed our neighbors, being polite and sensitive. We made a couple of modifications along the way, and once again, JWOOD was right there, adaptable and understanding. We came to really trust their recommendations. Now that the job is finished I have to say this, we love our wood and tile floors and we love JWOOD. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Having completed the do-it-yourself projects around our new home, it was time to have the floors done. We had three companies come out to measure and provide estimates. The price difference in the estimates left us with some uncertainty and questions of whether or not we could do the project and stay within budget. We decided to keep looking, found some great reviews for J Wood Flooring on Angie's List and called. Jose came out the next evening to take measurements and to talk about our vision for the project. We had already decided on the wood and ceramic laminates but looked to Jose artistic eye for ideas on the new fireplace facade. Two days later, we received the disheartening estimate from Nate. It was $1,500 over our budget. We visited Nate at the showroom the following weekend and discussed our dilema. After an hour of discussing options, Nate was able to find other flooring options of comperable quality. With the special promotion that was being run through the manufacturing company, the estimate dropped enough to keep us below budget. It was a good day! Two weeks later, Jose and his fabulous, hard-working crew showed up on the day and time as promised and got to work. We were expecting the project to take 3-4 days. After two 10-12 hour days, they were done. The crew was professional and polite, They showed respected our home, furniture and eachother. They did their best to manage the dirt and dust throughout the day and did a decent job of cleaning up at the end of day. The quality of work on the floors exceeded our expectations and the fireplace facade exceeded our dreams!

J Wood and Company (Juan) came promptly and gave us an estimate. After agreeing to the price we proceeded to schedule a time and date for installation. They were very professional and extremely clean. After installation was complete we inspected the work with them and were completely satisfied. We will us them again.

Flooring jumped through hoops to get to us on OUR schedule. The work was spectacular. The crew was professional, efficient and personable. They took time to clean up after the job. The result was outstanding. The floor matches perfectly and it looks like it was part of the original construction. It far, far exceeded my expectations.

Went very well. Finished product was perfect. Workmen hung sheeting around work area to prevent dust from spreading. Cleaned up when done and it was as clean as if they were never there. Would use this company again, anytime. Very professional and take great pride in their work.

From the moment we walked into the showroom of J Wood Flooring to the completion of our project, all aspects of the experience were enjoyable and totally satisfactory. Nate was infinitely patient in answering our many questions and in helping us select the wood that would meet our stated requirements. His knowledge is truly awe-inspiring. There was not a question we asked that he did not explain in detail and in a way that we could understand. Then Jose came to our home to measure and further explain the process to us. His recommendations regarding color and width of wood were very helpful and resulted in our having a floor about which we are very happy. The wood was delivered to our house several days before installation to allow it to acclimate before being installed. Members of the installation crew were equally professional. They were friendly, courteous, skilled and efficient in their work. It was clear that they, as well as Nate and Jose, took great pride in their work. Everything was clean and all furniture in place when they left. After the job was complete, Jose returned to check that everything was done to the highest standards and it was. We recommend this company without reservation.

Overall they did an excellent job. They only negatives we experienced pertained to sealing of the tile. They came back a few days after the tile was set to seal the tile and move the refrigerator back into the room. Within a few days it became apparent the sealant was flaking off. They researched the tile and learned that it is actually high-quality tile that does not need to be sealed. Only the grout needed sealing. They then had to remove the sealant and apply grout sealer. It required several visits after the actual tile was completed to get all of this solved. The owners are both very responsive and provide excellent customer service to resolve any issues you may have.

The owner was very educational. The workers knew what they were doing and I was comfortable having them in my house. They do good quality of work. I would use them in the future.

This entire experience was a complete joy. After shopping a number of other services for our hardwood installation, we accidentally came across J-Wood and couldn't be happier. We learned more about the product and the installation process from Nate in the first twenty minutes that we spoke with him than from any of the other vendors that we had received bids from. When we left the showroom, we felt completely confident that they would perform the best job - and they have certainly lived up to that! The installation process went very smoothly and was completely stress free. Jose and his team were incredibly polite and pure professionals. We even provided them with a key because we were away at times and they were very trustworthy - locking up our home and keeping everything cleaned up each day. We have a townhome and had the original carpeting and hardwood removed and they installed a beautiful floating, engineered, Timborana wood. In addition, they removed the carpeting from the staircase and replaced it with new wood treads w/ white risers. They stained the treads and the handrail to coordinate with the new flooring and they did an absolutely beautiful job. There were a few issues with our existing sub-floor, which Nate was quick to inform me of and the team handled the repairs. They used great care to have the sub-flooring in secure condition before installing the hardwood - which eliminated any creaking and other problems with the floor. When the entire process was complete, Jose did a full walk through with us to make sure that we were comfortable and pleased with the work. We feel completely certain that we can call them at any time if there are any future concerns and that they will be very responsive. We look forward to using J-Wood for other future projects and highly recommend them for their exceptional professionalism, high standards and quality of work.

I'm a demanding person.I make no apologies for expecting honesty, a fair price, and pride in one's work. J.Wood met my expectations and then surpassed them. From Nate in the Sales Office to Jose and his workers at the job site, everybody I dealt with was the epitome of professionalism. I recommend them without reservation.

Your experience with J Wood Flooring starts with Nate in showroom who is extremely knowledgeable. Jose came out to the house to measure. Jose gave us some great advice on what color flooring to choose so that it would match our existing cabinetry. He said that maple would actually make our builder-grade honey oat cabinetry look better - and he was right. Jose came out to drop off our flooring a few days in advance so that it would have time to acclimate. Installation went really well. It took them about 1.5 days to get the flooring in. The men that Jose brought to work with him were courteous and cleaned up at the end of the first work day. The only little hiccup was that a corner of one of the planks was sticking up when they finished, so they had to come back at a later time to repair it. But Nate and Jose wanted to make sure that everything was absolutely perfect. And it is! Nate and Jose really went above and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied. Jose and his team are wonderful craftsman and it shows in all the details.

We could not be happier with the Job J Wood did on our upstairs. They pulled up three rooms and a hall with carpet and replaced it with Oak. We were here for the two days it took and could not have been more impressed the finished product. Jose Nunez supervised the work. His team worked hard both days and he explained everything as he went along. His attention to detail around the stairs was really impressive. They spent a lot of time cleaning up after they finished and came in right on the estimate. We would not hesitate to call them again.

I loved working with the folks in this company. They are very knowledgeable about all aspects of the business and you can tell they enjoy what they do. Work started on time and the guys were very careful moving the furniture and cleaning up before they left. The floors were done first and look great. After the counter tops were installed, Jose came by with samples of the backsplash and said he was designing something that would look really good and it does! The work was done meticulously and I felt they were more interested in pleasing me than just doing a job. The guys were always polite, professional and very accomodating. I wish all companies were this great to work with.
