 + -1 moreWe recently moved into a new home and had Benjamin and his crew trim up our yard and they did a GREAT job. At that time, we discussed some overgrown bushes in our front yard and they came out another day and removed a few of them as well - a job that would have taken me a reasonable amount of time. His crew it out quickly and took the bushes away with them. We also used them to cut my lawn when I couldn't get to it. We will continue to use Benjamin and his crew in the future for various projects - next one is probably mulch.  + 1 moreWhen we bought our house last year we inherited a beautiful but complicated yard. We are not keen gardeners and had really let things slip. We were in need of a full yard clean-up - we had weeds waist high in some places and were expecting a letter from the Homeowners Association any day!! Benjamin threw a team of 8 people on to the project. The worked tirelessly all day and made a huge difference. They took away a truck full of weeds, did a great job pruning bushes and had wonderful suggestions about how we could simplify things to make the yard easier to maintain. We are so happy with the results and have decided to have Benjamin and team maintain the yard and lawns on a regular basis. Thank you!

 + -1 moreI contacted Hamptonscape and Benjamin emailed me back. I told him I had just moved into my home and it desperately needed to be mowed and sprayed for weeds. It was almost a week later that it got mowed but I understand that they service "areas" on certain days and my area gets mowed on Thursdays. I requested only getting the lawn mowed every other week and Benjamin was fine with that. I was happy when he lowered my mowing price to $35 and he emailed me the address to send the check to and I sent it right away. His crew came out to trim the shrubs and trees and haul it away. That was expensive but I am sure it is the going price. I am not sure if they have had a chance to spray for the weeds yet but hopefuly, once they do he will again send me my bill by email. Love the email billing!
Description of Work: After mowing the lawn, front and back, I requested having the bushes and trees trimmed. What a GREAT job they did. I still look forward to a consultation on the fruit and floral trees that I want planted in the backyard.

They work on an hourly rate, so I didn't think they would work as hard or as fast as they did. He is very professional as well as his crew and I was very comfortable having them working while I was home with the children. I plan on using them again!
Description of Work: Benjamin and his crew trimmed all our bushes and trees. Removed ALL the debris and trimmings- including weeds. Benjamin even walked the yard giving us recommendations for fertilizer and treatment for diseased plants.

 + 2 moreI contacted Benjamin as a result of his good marks from Angie's List members, and the recommendations were spot on. Benjamin and his crew did a tremendous job with a large number of shrubs and a small dead tree that needed to be removed. He and his crew came on time, as promised. They worked quickly and thoroughly. They trimmed some holly shrubs that are 8 yrs old (which I inherited with a home purchase) and had never been trimmed before - now they all look great. Benjamin took the time to walk us through all the work that he was going to do prior to doing it, explained the different types of bushes we had and eplained why he suggested removal and why he would not cut certain bushes during this season. He knows his stuff. Now that they are under control again, this service will be subsatanially less in the future. He has a great crew that work well together. Benjamin is knowledgable, fair and reasonable. I will be using him for different yard projects in the future.

Description of Work: This is your lawn care and landscaping company! Stop your search now and call Benjamin! I'm not kidding, I've been through no fewer than 6 in the last 6 years and FINALLY FOUND THE RIGHT ONE! All kidding aside, Benjamin and his team are the real deal. They say what they mean and do what they say AND they do it economically! He not only does my weekly lawn maintenance (including cutting the lawn, edging, shrub trimming, fertilizer, weed killer, fall leaf removal, mulch and flower bed upkeep, aerating and seeding); but he has done a fantastic job determing what planting will work to add color to my beds based on soil and sunlight. He goes above and beyond every time to make sure that our yard looks the way we want. He even: got my rhododendrons and azaleas to bloom - first time in 6.5 years removed 3 copperheads from my beds that could have gotten one of my kids proactively comes up with economical solutions to make our yard look great.  + 1 moreWe have used Hampton Scape for the last 3-4 years. Benjamin is always quick to respond and his estimates are always correct. His team is fast and professional. I have 2 dogs that are constantly romping around the yard. He keeps this in mind when selecting plants to ensure they are not poisonous and that their branches and leaves are sturdy enough to withstand the daily "lizard and frog hunts." This year, I decided to redo our front beds. I had a list of colors I like or dislike and another list of what my husband likes or dislikes. Between the 2 of us we wiped out any thing in yellow, orange or red. It also had to be hardy so I couldn't kill it and fast growing. I turned over all other details to Benjamin and viola! my yard is done and it looks great. In the last 2 weekends we have had storms with hail and a lot of wind. The installation was done and yet Benjamin still checked in after each storm to make sure the yard was ok and we didn't have any damage. That is such a great personal touch and one of the many reasons that I return to Hampton Scape year after year.
Description of Work: Remove plants from front beds. Remove some dead shrubs and relocate some shrubs to better locations. Add various vines to the fencing. Add mulch and get rid of any weeds/grass in the beds. Add new shrubs and plants to beds.

Description of Work: Benjamin and his crew worked all day doing lots of pruning, removing a small tree, cleaning our beds, and replacing pine needles with hardwood mulch in all our beds. The cost noted included about 40 yards of mulch.

Benjamin gives many suggestions that will work for your yard and budget and you develop a plan together that will work for your needs. Benjamin exceeded our expectations. Not only was he able to replace our overgrown plants with a fresh new design in the front yard within budget, he was also able to do plantings in the back yard that really complimented the space. We will definately call him for our next project.

 + 1 moreI have a 100-year old house on six acres that I'm trying to sell. I've got someone who mows (sort of) the majority of the acreage, so that's taken care of. But there are beds all around the perimeter of the house that needed attention, and quickly because there were some showings coming up. He responded within a few hours, and although he was booked up for the next two weeks, he said he'd work me in for a few hours early Saturday morning. Exactly on time, he arrived with three others and a large trailer to haul off all the material they cleared away. His price included the cost of the truck and the bales of mulch. Even though it began drizzling and was pretty nasty, they continued to work quickly and thoroughly and I was amazed at what they accomplished in two hours! I will definitely hire him for more work--this yard could be a lifelong project!--because not only was he extremely professional and competent, he was very responsive and particularly helpful. An overall great experience!

Description of Work: I had been removing monkey grass from my front yard and got to a point where my back gave out. I found Benjamin on Angie's List with multiple excellent recommendations. I e-mailed him and got an immediate response. He scheduled a convenient time and showed up as promised with his team. They dug up the remaining monkey grass, saving as much soil as possible, and cleaned up the area before they left.

Benjamin was diligent in trying to find a date when rain was not in the forecast and when I would be home from work. He and his crew came at the time they promised and did the work I wanted them to do.  + 0 moreBenjamin prefers contact through e-mail and responded quickly to my original inquiry. Since I do not have a mobile internet device and am out of town when I'm working, it was a challenge to set a day and time for the work. He stopped and looked at the job I wanted done, but didn't ring the bell. Nevertheless, I did receive a quote and an approximate date for service. The extreme weather in Charlotte delayed the work for a week because the ground was frozen. The stumps were removed quickly with no damage to the other plants in the bed. The crew replaced the pine straw, swept the walk and left the area neat and tidy. Benjamin reduced the original quoted price, but I paid the full amount because his crew had done such a great job. Someone who is more electronically connected than I am, would probably find the appointment process more functional than I did. I will definitely use Hampton Scape again.

 + -1 morePositive experience start to finish. I emailed Benjamin late in the fall aeration season not sure if he would be able to fit me in since I'm not a regular client. He responded to my email within 24 hours and scheduled the work within a week. He brought a crew who tackled the job, including blowing off leaves, quickly and efficiently. Benjamin did not try to hard sell me on his other services and he provided me with helpful advice on maintaining my lawn. I will definitely call him again for aeration next year as well as other yard projects when needed.

He was on the job from start to finish and ran blowers himself too! You don't see that a lot these days. They left the job looking great and Benjamin actually took the time to give me a bunch of free advice on fertilizing and treating the yard for the upcoming year. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend him. I cannot imagine how long I would be out of commission trying to do that work by myself. My back thanks me!

 + -1 moreI have seen the truck with men working on my neighbors lawn with big sign "On Angie's list", spoke to the owner who promissed to drive/come by to give me an estimate. Made several calls to see when they will be coming without results, this went on for 2/3 weeks, finally I said "don't bother". When I called the number on the business card, message was they are very busy and to send them an email with the request????The man that finally returned my call was very rude, he was not the owner I spoke to earlier. I guest they don't need new customers.

 + -1 moreBen was responsive on email, although he was very busy and I wasn't quite sure if he was coming on Monday or Tuesday. He showed up on Tuesday while I was away from the house, but got started right away and was almost done when I returned. The team was efficient and removed the leaves more quickly than I expected. He also had some great advice for me about how to deal with the acorns that fall in my yard. And I love that there were no bags left sitting on my lawn for pick-up - he takes all the leaves with him.
Description of Work: Ben and a crew of 3 other men removed all of the leaves from our yard in 2 hours. They used blowers and then took the leaves away (no bagging or bags on the driveway - hooray). Our yard was completedly covered in leaves before they came (no grass to be seen).

 + 0 moreBen pre-assessed the condition of my lawn - compacted clay, no topsoil, eroded areas, slopes,shade and sun, and dogs. As I already knew, it needed major work, but Ben was kind enough to ask me where I wanted to start. I told him that I wanted to rely on his expertise. He said that the yard needed to be tilled and enriched with PH balanced topsoil. All along he let me know what things would cost. He set a date for the work. He and his team arrived promptly. All were professional. They left everything very neat and clean. Luckily, we had rain the day after the work was done and a couple of times thereafter. The seeds started germinating in a week! Ben will be maintaining my yard at least until the grass is well-established. At that point, it is very likely that I will hire the company for ongoing lawn upkeep. As an update on 11/19, in less than a month, I have a green lawn. We are very pleased with the the service. Ben and his crew have kept the grass free of leaves, and they mowed the first time today. Wow! There's no bare red clay, no erosion, just green everywhere, even on the slopes.
Description of Work: Ben tilled the soil in my entire (Large) yard. He then put down enriched topsoil, fertilizer, grass seeds and wheat straw.
