Crew did a great job, kept things neat. They found some additional wood rot that was not discovered in the initial estimate and fixed it at a reasonable additional charge. They did a very thorough job. Excellent attention to detail. I will use Luis again and recommend him to friends and AL members.

Luis was great, very responsive. He was able to come to our home one evening to go over what work we wanted done to our new house. He gave us many good suggestions & ideas. After the initial visit he sent us a very detailed proposal of what work would be done and the costs. We decided to go ahead and award him the job. Luis had 2 crews working on our house; one for the painting and one for the crown molding (carpentry). Both crews were very skilled, easy to communicate with, and customer focused. With both crews I changed my mind on what I wanted after they arrived to my home. They were very nice in assuring me that my satisfaction with the job was their #1 goal and did not seem bothered that I changed my mind. The end result is fabulous. The crown molding matched the original builder's crown molding (the original molding stopped in the hallway and we continued it on throughout the living room) perfectly and makes the room look great. The paint job was great, I am very picky about paint lines being perfectly straight - the painters exceeded my expectations.

This was a very good experience! The painters spent a lot of time (about 2 days) pressure washing, caulking joints & preparing to paint. The painting was very high quality. The crew was efficient. They were supervised by Mr. Murillo's son. Clean-up was good, too. They used good quality paint. This is a great company! They were not the least expensive of the companies we contacted; however, we really felt good about them and their ability to produce a quality paint job.

I called to get an estimate on Thursday and Luis came to my house on Saturday morning. He was very professional and the estimate he e-mailed me on Tuesday was very detailed. They installed the crown molding the following Monday, did some prep work on the walls Tuesday and painted on Wednesday. The work they did looks great and the price was $1000.00 less than any other estimate I received! I would recommend Luis and his company to anyone that needs to have painting or light carpentry work done.

I chose this company because of the thoroughness of the proposal and the price. Luis spent more time at the house than estimators from other companies and it showed in his detailed proposal supported by photographs of areas in need of repair. The price estimate for the house was similar to other companies but the estimate for the fence was much lower resulting in a significantly lower overall cost. The work was performed to a high standard and I greatly appreciated being asked to inspect the carpentry before any paint was applied. The price came in slightly higher than estimated due to some additional wood rot found by the crew. I was asked to look at the wood and give approval first for this extra work. Two different crews did the house and the fence and each one cleaned up well at the end of each day and stowed ladders and tools out of the way and out of sight. Both crew leaders were friendly, spoke excellent English, and were willing to answer all questions I had. I would definitely hire this company again and recommend them to others.

Excellent. Luis Murillo responded promptly to my call and gave me an estimate that was about half of what I had previously been quoted. He is truly the most professional contractor I have interacted with, in the two years I have lived in my fixer-upper. I called on a Thursday to tell him that I wanted him to do the job and it was done by Saturday night. Overall, the workmanship was outstanding. The prep work on the concrete steps (a grueling job) was thorough and the finished product looks great.

Great. Luis and his son Fabio are easy to deal with. They spec the job carefully and completely. Provide a written contract detailing work. Provide insurance and bonding documentation with contract package. Crew members are hard working, respectful and clean-up work area at the end of the day. Four day job. Day 1 pressure washing. Day 2 (4 days later due to rain) prep work. Day 3 painting and other prep. work not discovered on Day 2. Day 4 painting and close out. No surprises, great work and easy finish to contract specifications.

From the first call to the finish of the job, it was a pleasure doing business with Luis and his crew. His crew was professional and did a meticulous job. The woodwork that was replaced blended seamlessly with the existing structures. They did not rush the work; it was all done with detail in mind and done correctly the first time!! Louis Murillo responded to my request for an estimate by visiting the next day and provided the quote via email the following day. Louis's firm includes all workmen's comp and insurance required to make sure that his employees can not impact you should something happen, which in this case it did not. The work was scheduled for three days after approval and Louis's team arrived on time and ready to work. The team was managed by Louis's son and the crew all seemed very able and worked diligently to complete there given tasks. All furniture was covered or protected from damage. The workmen were respectful of my wife and children and I had no concerns. The work was finished on time and I plan to use Louis and his team in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

The previous owner of our house painted it an awful yellow color. Some carpentry work included replacing wood siding, fascia & soffits that also needed to be done. Mr. Murillo was a very conscientious man. Photos were taken as a reference for what needed to be done and we knew exactly what they were going to do. The work was exemplary and they did a good job.

When we called for an estimate, Luis returned our call promptly and scheduled a time to give an estimate. He arrived on time for the appointment. He explained that he believes that the prep work although not seen when the job is finished is the most important part of the job. He requests the homeowner inspect the job at three points-after the pressure washing or cleaning, after the caulking is completed and after the paint is applied. We scheduled a start date and the painters arrived as promised. The workers were very pleasant at all times-polite and anxious to please-maintaining a neat work area and leaving the area clean each day when they left. They were very careful to protect our plantings from any damage. They did such a good job that many of our neighbors dropped by to ask for business cards. Luis guarantees the paint job for 5 years. He will come by each year to wash the exterior and do any necessary touch ups. They did a very good job. We are very pleased.

The owner, Luis Murillo, came to our home the first day after I spoke with him by phone. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He provided creative solutions to the project and looked for was to save us money. For example, he recommended cleaning and repainting our existing screen door instead of have a new one installed. It turned out great. Luis provided a very detailed proposal that included estimates of each portion of the project. The workmanship was very good. The solution to enclose the open area under the screened in porch was very creative and was well executed. Luis and his crew went the extra mile to answer questions and do what was necessary for us to be satisfied. They did a few things at no extra charge, such as painting the mailbox.

The man that they have who does the woodwork does an excellent job. They clean up after themselves every day and are very neat. They were just excellent. For the next five years they'll come out and wash the house and do any touch up work that's needed and there is no extra fee. We plan on using them again for work inside the house.

Luis or his son Flavio have customer inspect job after each step including wood repair, sanding & scraping, priming, and painting. Crew thoroughly clean job site at end of each day. Workers repaired small extras without additional charge. Luis and Flavio show great pride in their work and take great pains to assure customer satisfaction.

From the very beginning, Luis was very impressive. His estimate was very detailed and he seemed very detailed. He explained that he requires the owner to inspect the house with him at the end of each phase, after scraping and sanding, after patching and carpentry work and again after painting. He did everything he said he would do. He and his crew were very careful and detailed. They showed up everyday until the job was done. He was careful to explain each step. Their work was excellent. The pediment over our front door was rotten and needed to be replaced. We couldn't find the right size by ordering and the prefab ones did not look good. No worries...Luis handmade the pediment himself. He designed and did the carpentry and it looked great! And his cost in building it was less than the prefab ones you can order. I would definitely use Luis and his company again.

Carolina's Painting and Carpentry did an outstanding job. Owner Luis Murillo prepared a thorough estimate and took considerable time to discuss the details of the job and the options to complete the work. Crew did an excellent job of prepping, cleaning, scraping and sanding, down to bare wood when necessary. Removed old caulk and re-caulked where needed. Sanded and used fillers to ensure smooth surfaces. Did an excellent job reconstructing a deteriorated wooden gate door, saving me $200. The painting work was outstanding in all respects, with a full prime and finish coats. Used high quality materials, including adding anti-mildew agents where needed. They provided for several thorough inspections of the work, walking around the house with me to explain the job and ensure my approval, before moving on to the next stage of the job. They cleaned up well. Very professional to deal with. They stand behind their work with a 5 year warranty. I highly recommend this company.

Excellent. Work was done on time with a very short lead time. Quality and professionalism was excellent. They even cleaned a hallway light that has been out of reach of a household ladder. I also used these folks for exterior paint and carpentry. They did an excellent job which is why I called them back for the interior work.

Luis came out and did a very detailed estimate and explained every step of his proposal. I was impressed with the amount of time they spent on the prep work- about 3 days worth of work before ever putting on a drop of paint. I thought he did a good job of explaining all aspects of the job. He told me about up front that there might be some minor additional cost because until he took one of the gutters off he could not tell if the wood was rotten. I have used Angie's List extensively in the past and this was yet another Angie's List success story. I found Carolina's Painting and Carpentry via the Angie's List web site. Luis Murillo (owner) came out an met with me. We walked around the entire house and talked about what needed to be done in order to have the house painted in a 'quality' manner. Luis spent time talking about his company and what he expects of his employees (no subs). Luis came back one week later with a comprehensive and very professional estimate. Preparation is 'key' to a quality paint job and their prep work was outstanding (pressure washing, caulking, sanding, priming, etc.). All of that was completed and I was asked to inspect their prep work BEFORE any painting began. Anything that I pointed out was taken care of immediately. This is the best the house has ever looked. Luis offers a 5 year guarantee (which includes pressure washing and touch ups each year). Quality painting and carpentry!

It turned out better than I expected. Luis' proposal was very professional. The price was on the high-end of the three proposals I received. He had quite a few creative suggestions, which I think worked out great. Once the gutters were removed (not by them), there was much more wood that need to be replaced. Luis cut me a break on the extra work performed. They also pressure washed the entire house, steps, and front walk (which was a bonus because it wasn't in the proposal). The quality of materials and workmanship was outstanding. They paid attention to every minor detail.
