We have had many issues with the general contractor, Elizabeth Giri, from Precision Builders. To start, we signed a contract on November 3rd 2010 for a projected 10 to 12 week project for a 500 square foot home addition . As of April 1st, 2011 we are still incomplete. Factors that have set the project back are as follows: The roof was put on incorrectly and had to be taken down and rebuilt, the addition measurements were off during framing causing a need for further construction into the existing house to compensate for the addition not lining up. These issues were brought to the General contractors attention by the framers and both times they were told to continue causing several issues with construction. Both of these issues arose from the General contractor not verifying measurements (as stated in our drafter plans to verify), not being on the job site and not checking subs work.. The project continued to stall due to the contractor not scheduling subcontractors to come in in a timely manner. An additional factor in not meeting our deadline of a 10-12 week project was the need to move a entry closet that housed our security system. Due to the entrance to the addition not lining up correctly with the existing home. Our entryway had to be remodeled and our security system moved to allow an entrance to addition. The electrician ran the wires to the system along our floor and ceiling and framed the closet over the wires and a floor was installed over the wires as well. This problem still remains unresolved with no communication of a plan of resolve. I have presented the general contractor with a quote to have this situation resolved, with a refusal to correct the issue. The security system was repaired by a separate company at our cost because a wire was split and could have caused a fire. The final factor in not meeting our time line is the laminate flooring that was to be installed in the halls and foyer. It has been replaced twice and an attempt to repair it has been made, however the floor is still incomplete due to cracks, broken boards etc. We have requested a plan to resolve this issue and only receive the reply that it is "being worked on", its been 46 days since our final completion date has passed and its still being "worked on". We have requested the general contractor to come and inspect the workmanship with all issues that have arose during construction with a refusal to do so. We are also waiting to hear if our vanity will be replaced in our 2nd bath due to poor quailty (chips and gaps) and a manufactures defect. It was to be a custom made vanity top and it was cut resulting in not being flush and the edges chipped as well as bubbles in the marble, still no resolve has been made on this issues either. We have requested be email, text and phone calls for a plan to resolve all issues and have not received resolution. We have a construction loan that the terms require this project to be done well and in a timely manner, the bank has been notified and has expressed concern for time and quality of work. The Better Business Bureau has also accepted this case for review of business ethics. We are extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and unethical behavior of this company. We are a military family with an upcoming deployment and not only has this experience been overwhelming stressful but we are also very concerned that our family will continue to be neglected and this situation will continue into our deployment adding more stress to our lives. The worst mistake we ever made was trusting Precision Builders! UPDATE!! Precision Builders has walked out on our project! Liz Giri has refused any further work and has not returned phone calls or emails. We are still without our floors being properly installed and the damage done to them during installation is still not fixed, a vanity is damaged and the painting wasn't finished. We had a contract for the work that she has not fulfilled. We have also received information that she hasn't paid for work done on our project but all the money was taken from the bank. Liz Giri, Precision Builders has walked out of our contract, leaving work unfinished and my husband is deploying. She was aware of this and assured us that it would all get done and now she refuses to return phone calls or finish the work. Liz Giri is immoral and dishonest. (5/23/2001)
