Vice Versa Painting Service

Phillip arrived promptly for the estimate meeting and was thorough in asking questions regarding the surface preparation and quality of the contractor paint job. During the meeting Phillip provided detailed information on how the job would be completed and the paint materials that would be used. He additionally informed us that due to our lack of knowledge on the contractor paint, that he may have to use more paint than normal and if he did, the final cost would increase, but only for the cost of the additional paint (He was right on with this statement as he had to purchase an additional five gallons of paint). We scheduled the job about 1 1/2 months in advance. During the lapse period Phillip maintained good contact with me, so I knew the job hadn't been forgotten. On the days of the painting, Phillip and his crew arrived promptly and got right to work. I was surprised when upon arrival, Phillip and I stood in the driveway and talked for about 20 minutes and when we went into the house, his crew already had paint on the walls. On the pre-painting walk through, Phillip asked many questions regarding the work to be performed. His goal was to make sure that the house was painted exactly the way that we desired. His thorough questioning, even resulted in us changing a couple small details of the job. Phillip originally estimated that the job might take three days but it was completed in only two. Again I was surprised that his crew was able to knock out an almost 2500 sq ft home in two days, with two coats of paint on everything. We interacted with Leo (lead worker) as much as Phillip and he also was very easy to work with. On the first day of arrival of Phillip and his crew, Phillip noticed that the contractor had left some smudges on the baseboard paint. At no cost to me, he purchased a gallon of the same paint that had been used for the baseboards and had his crew touch up the baseboard paint. Extreme caution was used to protect the flooring and carpeting throughout the house from droppings. Tarps were even used under the ladder on our hardwood floor to ensure it was scuffed by the ladder legs. Upon completion of the job, we did a final walk through and inspection of the job. I was permitted to do the walk through myself and put painters tape, wherever I thought touch up was needed. Leo and I then walked through and I showed him what I had identified. During our joint walk through, Leo even noticed a couple of places that I hadn't. Overall, I think there was only about 10 places that needed touch up and I was very thorough in my inspection. Most of the touch ups were VERY SMALL drippings that had occurred. We could not be pleased any more with the work that was performed and how quickly it was performed. We had five bids from paint companies and VIce Versa was the low bidder. From my previous work experience, I know that the low bidder isn't always the best work, but in this case it was. Angie's list was very helpful, in that Vice Versa has great feedback on this site. On our next painting project VIce Versa Paint will be the first company we call for an estimate and possibly the only company we call. I will recommend this company to anybody that asks me about hiring a painting company.

At first I had a hard time scheduling the painting, but once I talked to Phillip (owner) everything got off the ground. He was very flexible with my indecisiveness. He even painted a sample and asked me to look at it before he went on with the job. I hated the color I had picked, burt was apprehensive about holding the painters up. Even though he had three painters at my house he said, "Don't get stressed. Take your time deciding." I eventually picked a color that I really liked. The guys who did most of the painting were great. They did a good job of cleaning. They even suggested pressure cleaning the blinds before they were hung back up. They did this for a nominal fee. Everything looked great. They were very fast and they moved all the furniture in and out themselves. I would highly recommend this company. They were very friendly, accommodating and fast, good painters.

Phillip showed up on the original service date and was very sick with an upper respiratory illness. He rescheduled as soon as he was able to be up and about. He and his assistant showed up on time and got right to work. They moved furniture, moved things out of the way, covered the floor and furniture, etc. By lunch they were on to the 3rd room. The ceiling was done by Phillip alone and he was here until 7:00pm moving furniture back to original locations etc. Both Phillip and His assistant were very professional and hard working and paid attention to detail. The painting of the three rooms was an Angie's List Deal for $199 and the remainder $300 was the price of materials ($120 Sherwin Williams paint), painting the ceiling ($150) and I threw in another $30 because they worked so hard.

From the beginning, Philip communicated extensively - he returned every call promptly, and met every commitment he made. I wanted base plus 2 coats of paint inside, and primer and coat outside, and he worked with me to ensure we got the right products. He didn't even whine when I pulled out the list of colors since I paint most rooms different colors! They showed up when they said they would, and were very conscientious about their work. At the same time I had electricians, pool people, HVAC, etc in - and they worked extremely well with the other companies. They were terrific.

They did reschedule once, but did an excellent job painting the interior of our house. 7 rooms including 12 foot ceilings. Well done and easy to work with. Also repainted our kitchen cabinets.

I wanted to update the colors in my living room and kitchen & didn't want to bother with the hassle of painting it myself. Philip came over to provide an estimate 2 hours after I called him. He came out 3 days later to start the project. He was punctual, professional, and did a wonderful job. He answered my texts/phone calls quickly and was always available to answer any questions I had. The price was great, and my living room/kitchen looks awesome. Highly recommend and would definitely use him again.

It went very well. They were here in the morning and stayed until they couldn’t see to paint. I had picked dark Tuscan colors. They made sure that everything was perfect. I have carpeting and there wasn’t a drop on the floor. They also came back and power washed and painted my deck. They told me to call if I needed touch-ups. I didn’t need to call him back. I’ve referred him to 3 co-workers.

We originally hired Philip using an Angie's List coupon to paint 3 interior rooms, and the results were great. We then purchased a second of the same coupon for him to paint the interior room's at my mother-in-law's house, and again the results were superb. Based on the stellar work he had done on the inside, my wife and I then hired Philip to paint the exterior of our house. This was a larger job that took the better part of a week, and again, Philip and his crew were professional, precise, reasonably priced, and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Philip? he provided quality work at a fair price.

Philip and his crew did wonderful work at a very fair price. In the middle of the paint job we had our furniture moved into the house, which of course scuffed some walls we just painted. He went back over those areas for us to fix the scuffs without any hesitation. My wife and I are very happy with how responsive he was to our requests and how great the final product turned out. He and his crew were excellent to work with.

This was a great contractor. I called for a quote, and working M-F, it's hard to find a time people can make it out. I happened to have the next day off, so he offered to come by in the afternoon, even though I am out in Riverview, and he was on a job in New Tampa. After the quote, again I had the same M-F issue, so Phillip offered to come out on a weekend, and start early so it would leave my afternoon free. The day of the painting he was at the door at 8am on the spot, and him and his assistant got started right away prepping and painting. The edges were crisp and straight, and they took the effort to carefully paint inside the windowsill, something I never have the patients for when I paint. They did extra coats to cover up the areas where we were testing paint colors the wall, and made sure they did as many coats as were needed. In the playroom, one of the colors was a bright red, and a little got on the baseboards. To be sure the job was right, he took the time to paint all the baseboards even though it was not in my quote, just so he was comfortable that he did a 100% job. I would 100% recommend him to any friends or family that need painting.

Emailed Mr. Williams to arrange an appointment for an interior painting estimate and he responded promptly. He was polite, professional and arrived at the home on time for the estimate. He provided a written estimate with suggestions for improvement. Estimate was approved and job scheduled within one week. Crew arrived at job site fully prepared and ready to go to work. We toured the house with the crew to verify which areas would not be painted (closets and a small bathroom). I asked Mr. Williams about an exterior stucco issue and he explained the cause and how to fix some minor issues myself. In addition, he recommended a stucco professional to contact for any major repairs. After touring the outside of the home I inquired about the cost to paint just the roof line trim and when he might be able to schedule it. I left the house with crew beginning work at 9am, with understanding Mr. Williams would contact me when they were ready to leave for the day. Imagine my surprise when Mr. Williams contacted me around 1:30 pm and told me the interior job was almost finished. I returned to the house and the crew were finishing up minor interior details. The exterior work was then begun and completed by 6pm that same day! WOW! What a difference this made. Mr. Williams and his crew are true professionals, they took care not to drip or splash paint on floors or counters. They patched wall holes and even caulked my kitchen counter tops. They took down all my window coverings and rehung them. The walls and baseboards were painted to perfection! These guys are really artists! Believe me, when I'm ready to paint the entire exterior I will be giving Mr. Williams a call.

Wow!! These guys were great. I had a bedroom painted and it looks awesome. They were very detailed with the trim, fast, and efficient. I will definitely use them for the rest of my house once I decide on colors:)

Clean and careful. Did what I asked. especially appreciate that they honored my coupon past the expiration date. I had a sick family member to take care of for several months and thought that I would have to let the money I spent go. Called anyway and the owner Phillip was very understanding.

We purchased this service through a deal offered to members of Angie's List. The painters came and worked steadily until the job was completed. The only issue with this service provider was that he was so busy at the time that he overbooked and did not arrive when he said he would. When contacted by phone, he was working, extremely apologetic, and promised to be here the next day, which he was. This was only a minor inconvenience considering the amount and quality of work he provided for the price.

Wow! What a professional group of people! Vice Versa Painting showed up on time - not only for the quote but also for the start date of the job. The team was professional, timely, and very good! I initially had them scheduled to paint the walls and baseboards but changed the job scope on the first day to include trim and doors. The previous homeowner had the home painted and there was paint on the ceilings. Jose pointed this out and was able to fix this for me too. I would not hesitate to recommend Vice Versa painters for anyone considering a paint project. Thank you guys, for all your hard work and for meeting my deadlines.

Phip came out to give us an estimate. He was on time and measured everything. He was to get back with us in a couple of days with the estimate. It has been five days haven't heard a thing. I had three company's off Angies List to come out to give an estimate.Only one company gave us a estimate. If these company's on Angie's list have all this business,don't waste customers time if your not going to get back with them. I am happy whom we hired to do the work.

We purchased a special and got a fantastic deal. The gentleman was prompt, professional and did what he said he would do. He came for the estimate when he said he would, returned phone calls as promised and the work was exceptional. We will definitely use his services again.

This is the second time we have used Vice Versa and Phillip. Excellent job again! Phillip is trustworthy, dependable, and does a fantastic job for a great price. I HIGHLY recommend.

I was a little surprised at the extra cost but very satisfied with the job that they did, and the price was worth it.

The job entailed the removal of the popcorn, replacing the texture on the ceiling and painting the ceiling. This part of the job went well and I was ok with the quality of the work. However, the painter working for Mr. Williams did a poor job of painting the walls. Mr. Williams (the owner of Vice Versa), came the next morning after I called about my unhappiness with the quality of the paint job. I pointed out all the problems I saw with the paint job. Mr. Williams agreed with me on all points and redid the entire paint job himself and gave me discount for my trouble. I am a very detailed oriented person and Mr. Williams did an excellent job both painting the crown molding and the living room walls. He takes responsibility for his work and acted very professionally and fairly throughout the job. I would hire him again.

My overall experience was excellent starting from the day I met him for estimate. He never left the side of his workers, he was very gentle with my things in my home. He and his crew were very professional and dependable. I felt very comfortable with him and his workers.

On 7/10/12 we had our family/great room, one hallway, 3 doors, baseboards and trim painted by Vice Versa Painting Service. Philip came the week prior to give an estimate and go over preparing the room. We purchased the paint in advance. Philip did a very professional job and the work was completed in less then a day. He put 2 coats on the walls and also did the baseboards, trim and doors as the extra work we had requested. And all of this was done in spite of one problem. The paint originally used on the baseboards, trim and doors by our builder was an oil-base paint. Any other paint would not cover correctly -- it would run and smear. After finding a store that carried oil-base paints, we were able to purchase the correct cans. We are very pleased with the results and have already talked with Philip about future interior and exterior painting. We would definitely recommend him to anyone who needed a professional painter.

It turned out fine. They got it done in one day and we are putting everything back up on the walls right now.

I found them on Angie's List. The only thing I didn't like about the estimate was, they didn't include the paint and I don't know what paint costs. When they provide me an estimate, they have to give me an estimate of what paint is going to cost. The estimate was for $800. I chose to use them because they had good reviews. I would consider them in the future. I took three estimates and they were all from Angie's List.
