We have known Shamus for the several years we have lived in this house. He came highly referred to us by a couple of folks in our neighborhood. His labor charges are beyond reasonable. He is always polite and pleasant.. He is prompt and works diligently to complete all work in a timely manner. The finished work of each job is outstanding. We consider Shamus a friend as well as our "Handy Man".

Showed up on time as scheduled. He cut and replaced several deck boards, install metal flashing to facilitate drainage. Roof over deck: He installed new flashing, removed several old shingles and painted fascia board.

Shamas has performed many tasks for me throughout the last two decades. He has done flooring, electrical, and plumbing. He saved me money! I have an old house so often he is looking at one problem and uncovers two more. He can quickly adapt and handle all of them. He is professional at all times. He?s an active listener and will tell me if my vision can be accomplished in the real world. He?s refurbished three of my bathrooms?so he did this quite a bit. He always has a positive attitude?that just make you feel good; I can tell he enjoys helping people. He will go out of his way to save you money by being innovative. He makes sound, fact-based judgments. He?s able to come up with multiple alternative solutions and present them to you. He will NOT do shoddy work. If someone asks him to just do a long job quickly, he?ll explain that this his job and he won?t do a quick fix that will cause problems later. He has a natural rapport with people and even communicates well with my retarded brother. His skills are top-notch. He can quickly assess problems, identify possible solutions and is excellent in his follow-through. Would I call him again? Heckyfire YES!!! I have, for almost 20 years) and I will continue to do so in the future.

We could not have found a better person to meet our needs. Shamus is an excellent Handy Man skilled in many areas and if he is unsure takes the time to study up or knows his limits and gives the names of very good professionals in the area that are reasonably priced, fair and honest. He is very easy to work with. Listens to the customer and gives them what they ask for if possible. He is also willing to share his expertise and make suggestions if he feels something may not work as well as expected due to age, design, etc. His prices are so reasonable. We have paid twice as much or more for the same quality of work or less. He works constantly and does not waste time. He takes a lunch break or a short rest break and does not charge for that time. You always know where he is and what he is doing. He keeps the customer up to date and well informed as to progress or problems. He knows just about every one in the repair industry in the area. I just can't express the satisfaction we have with regard to hiring Shamus for the work we need done. The painting he did is absolutely beautiful. The floors look great. The bathroom is beautiful. No drips, leaks, cracks in tile. The vanity was installed so nicely. Everything is perfect and the Sauna is a perfect fit. Just can't say enough about him. He will be coming in the Spring to calk and paint our house and whatever else needs to be done. Would not even consider anyone else. You shouldn't either.

Very unprofessional, he was cussing at me and trying to over charge me for every little thing that he did. All I did was question a bill and he became extremely hostile and threatened to come rip out the work that he had done. He was always okay before hand, but something caused him to snap and verbally threaten me. I would avoid him at all costs.

He is fantastic. He comes when he says he will. His prices are reasonable. He is just a very outstanding man and very honest. There are not enough things I can say about him.

Honestly, it could not have gone better. Shamus was quick to respond to my request, came out to give me an estimate, and began working on the arranged day and time. He worked through to completion, exactly as planned. I was comfortable leaving this gentleman in my home while I was out and felt I was in good company when I was home. Shamus Nilan is a hard working, honest and kind spirited man. I know that I'll need his skills around my place from time to time and I will most certainly call on him for help again.

It was a great experience look forward to the next project.

Yesterday was the third or fourth time Shamus has worked for me in the last 6 months. Because of the illness of my husband many repairs around the house had gone lacking. I called Shamus after noting the excellent reviews written about him on Angie's List. I had projects that I knew needed done but even more important to me I wanted someone to walk around the house and tell me what else needed to be done. He is honest, skilled, affable, reasonable and just plain nice. He shows up and on time In the next couple of months I will have him paint the interior of my house. He is such a find. You won't be disappointed if you hire him.

Shamus fixed both of my bathtubs so they would drain properly. This had been a huge problem for me because initially the tubs did not drain at all and would overflow into the bathroom if not watched carefully. I had previously paid another provider to fix the problem but the tubs still did not drain correctly and would then they would drain into my downstairs apartment ceiling. When I reported this to the other provider he said he was too busy to come back at that time and although I told him I could wait until he could come back he wanted to send someone else to fix it and said that they would need to go through the other side of the wall that was inside of my kitchen cabinet to fix the drainage problem. I was afraid of the expense this would incur and so just took no action on it for quite a while. (I myself fixed the gaskets in the tubs back to the original way they were before that guy worked on it so that at least it would not drain downstairs). Then I came across Shamus on Angie"s List. I was impressed by what he had to say about his own work ethics so decided to give him a try. Shamus not only EASILY and inexpensively fixed my tubs to drain properly but he also replaced the flooring in the one bathroom and installed a new toilet. He also tightened down my kitchen faucet which was very loose and did a bit of sheet rock repair in the bathroom. He is courteous, caring, honest, and very well skilled. I will definitely be asking Shamus to come back to help me with several more projects on my list.

Shamus is the most honest, dependable, professional contractor I have EVER contracted. I contracted him to do a new roof on my home in North Carolina...I live in Georgia. He had me order and pay for the material needed for the job, that made me in little nervous; however, I knew ihired the right person when the supplier told me about I had no worries with Shamus and they as the suppliers would stand behind his work. I learned of Shamus from my father-in-law who uses Shamus for his work on his property. My father-in-law manages property in Atlanta and comments all the time that we wishes he could find a Shamus in Atlanta!

Excellent attention to detail. worked long, hard and fast. Shamus knows how to to get the job done and prides himself on satisfying his customers. You will more than satisfied.

There are several jobs Shamus has done for me. He always comes to evaluate what needs to be done. He will sometimes suggest ways to approach a project that I had no though of, which ends up making the result better than I anticipated. He will give me an estimate. We will then discuss when the work will be done. If necessary he will get supplies or sometime I get supplies, depends on what is being done. He shows up when he is supposed to and works while he is here. Most of the time no one is home while he is working at my home. I find him very trustworthy.

.I contacted Shamus before the winter weather rolled in about a shelter for my horse and donkey. He figured out what I needed and had it delivered and started as soon as weather permitted. He finished it in a timely manner exactly how we decided would be best. We worked together on the design and he had many helpful hints to suggest and agreed on a plan which he completed well before the bad weather hit. My animals are enjoying getting in out of the weather.

We have always been happy with any work Shamus has done for us. We believe that Shamus is very professoinal and friendly and that his prices are reasonable. The thing we like best about Shamus is that he always returns a phone call and he is at the job when he says he will be. If something arises, as we all know can happen, he will let you know, not leave you hanging.
