My move was local and it went extremely well -- Tyler, Tristan, and Manny were most courteous and they moved all the large stuff most efficiently. I prepared for the move, packing all the small stuff and moving it myself. Saved a lot because the billing was time-based. I did the light lifting; they did the heavy lifting! A happy customer!

Billed us for 50% more than estimate. Did not send proper equipment and could not complete move on schedule. Damaged furniture and home. Offered to pay for fixing damage but then reneged and refused to cover their damages. Hung up on client when he called to inquire about damages.

Smoothly...the guys were great and very professional and efficient.

They were actually very good. They showed up on time. I would use them again. I would tell people they were very efficient on how they did things.

It was Great! The guys came on time, took great care of my things. When we got to my new home, they help with the set up of all my furniture. They even help me take some things to the dumpster, without asking. Our move was so smooth! If I ever move again, I will most infidelity use this company.

Barringer Moving was wonderful to work with. We did all of,the packing and unpacking but they did all of the moving which relieved a great deal of stress. The movers were very friendly and were not bothered by our children. They were very accommodating and although I don't plan on moving anytime soon, I would use them again.

My possessions were stored for two months ar the Barringer's warehouse and then delivered to my new home and unloaded by another equally great crew. I would definitely hire them again.

It went extremely well. My husband and I thought we had done a good job of packing boxes (almost 50, I think) but there were so many items that had to be packed in boxes like wrought iron items, etc. and they took care of that. They packed our pictures and lamps, shades etc so carefully, much better than I could have. Moving into our new townhome had two stories (we moved out of a one story) and we concerned about how some of our large pieces were going to get upstairs, but that's when a professional mover becomes key. They moved the pieces upstairs with such care and manuverability that there wasn't a scratch on the furniture or the walls! As they stated on their webpage, moving can be so stressful but, once they arrived, I already knew we had made the right decision. I would highly recommend them to my friends and others who ask.

I have moved seven times and this was by far the best moving experience I have had. The movers were professional, competent and made the move a great deal less stressful. They packed and moved everything I own...four bedroom house. Nothing was broken...NOTHING. I had special antique pieces and some very special six foot box framed items that they moved with as much care as if they belonged to them. When they moved furniture around, they picked it up and never slid it across the floors. They worked fast and hard in difficult heat. They laughed and talked and never complained. Chris Barringer, his wife, and Jamie kept me up to date on everything and could not have been more professional and kind. I would very highly recommend this company for a move of any size.

We contacted Chris Barringer and he returned the call promptly. He was able to assess the planned move and gave us a quote the same day we first contacted him. The crew arrived on time for the move and were professional, efficient, and courteous. They loaded all of our household items including furniture without any issues despite poor weather conditions. They unloaded quickly in Goldsboro without any problems and helped assemble some of the larger pieces of furniture. The crew made the move as low stress as possible and I cannot praise them enough. If you are looking for movers in the Hickory area, this is the company to contact. Would recommend them without reservations.

Chris Barringer is a pleasure to speak with on the phone...willing to work with your schedule to ensure your belongings arrive where and when you need them. No job is too large or small and distance isn't considered an issue...will travel anywhere. I had contacted several moving companies and the majority of them came out to provide an accurate cost assessment. After traveling around the world, living in several countries - we had accumulated a large amount of possessions. There's nothing more irritating than hearing someone say over and over again "you have a lot of stuff" - as if we didn't know that. Not Chris!! Chris' main concern was to guarantee our precious belongings arrived at our new home in our time period. Chris was more than willing to create a schedule that was appropriate and easy to work with. We conducted a lot of coordination to ensure his crew had what they needed and arrived when expected. Six men showed up, first thing Monday morning -- ready to tackle what laid ahead. The crew was friendly, professional and dedicated. We have moved several times throughout our military career -- Barringer Moving has the best packers and movers I've ever seen. Once our old house sells -- I cannot wait to call Chris and set up our last move to our "Dream Home." Thank you Chris and Crew! You're the GREATEST!!!

The entire move was great. Because rain was scheduled for one of our moving days, a very large crew came out a few days ahead of time to make sure that everything was moved before the bad weather. It took several days to box all the household items - and to load all the furniture. We also had a huge number of boxes stored in our garage. The workers did a great job loading the truck and carrying everything uphill. The unloading went smoothly, and Barringer made sure to unload the truck carrying most of the furniture before the rain. When it did rain, the movers were very careful to place furniture pads on the hardwood floors to avoid tracking water inside. They were also very careful moving heavy items downstairs. Barringer was incredibly responsive on the phone and to all of our requests.

This is the second moving company we have ever used. They were ok. Not as good as the previous company out of Durham. Anyway, the first day went well and I was impressed with the guys. They sent 5 or 6 guys to help us pack. They were on time, they worked quickly and carefully. They labeled boxes well. They took an hour lunch and stopped the process about 3:45 because they ran out of boxes and packing material. This was just the packing day and loading would be the next day. They arrived on time again and this time had an addition worker to help finish packing a loading. They started working well and did a great job. The only complaint I had was a few items were not being packaged (a baby swing and car seat) and asked two separate time to say I didn't want them loaded without some type of protection, a bag or box or something. Then they went to lunch and came back in about an hour. I then smelled marijuana on one of the workers and suspected others were high too. I could hear them throughout the house being more joking and could tell that at least 3 of them were stoned. I called the company and explained what I thought was going on. I had no proof that they were high, but suspected. The were extremely shocked to hear their crew might be high. They said they would get right back to me. Not sure what occurred in the following 15 min after I called but then I called them back and said that I didn't want them to stop the move..I HAD to move so I needed the job done. They said they would talk with them. Anyway, they finished loading everything and then came and told me (at 4:30) in the afternoon that I needed a certified bank check to pay them and could not unload until they had payment. It was NEVER mentioned to me that this was required. I had originally wanted to pay by credit card. Anyway, I still had to clean the house, drive 3 hours to our new area and now get a bank check and it was 4:30. The next day was delivery and then unloading of the truck. my husband had to meet them so I could take care of the bank check so I'm not sure how the first part of the day went. I was even unsure if they would even deliver our stuff until we paid them, but they said they would start although they could have been a bit better about it. Anyway, our stuff was moved in. They did a good job. They were very quite so I'm not sure if they were told of our suspicions about being high. They did a good job and were polite. All in all they did an ok job. Just wish they had told me about the check and wish they didn't get high to move our stuff. They only made a few remarks about the hard work in moving our furniture. The first company never complained once.

This is a moving company so they came to our home and packed up all of our belongings which took approximately 2 1/2 days and then moved us to a neighboring county. They were able to unpack us in one day. They did do some extra things that were not part of their contract such as move some furniture around for us (in the new home). The men were polite and did an overall good job. The company also offered to include a cleaning service for an extra price which we did and I did not include this number in the overall cost that I listed. This was also a nice feature to have.

From the initial conversation with Chris Barringer to the completion of the move, this company was excellent.

The owner, Chris Barringer, made the estimate. He was on time, professional, and very helpful. His packing crew showed up on time, with supplies and enough people to accomplish the job of packing in a timely manner. This group of men were professional, efficient, and very respectful of our home and of us. Most had worked for this company for several years and it showed. The packing was completed on time and the move to storage was completed without a hitch. It appears that we will be taking advantage of the storage facility for at least a year, and were relived to find that this facility is clean and well organized. We have had several contacts with Chris Barringer and he has always been helpful, kind, and professional. We have moved approx 10 times in the last 30 years and this move has been our best experience during a time that ranks up there with the most stressful times of a marriage. In my opinion, one reason for the success of this part of our move is the fact that Barringer M&S prides themselves in trying to maintain their work force , and that showed in every aspect of the move. There were no hidden charges and no add on's after they had your things in the truck as we have experienced in some of our past moves by "nationally known" movers/ We would recommend Barringer M&S and would use them again if the situation arose. The movers were 25 minutes late; however, the owner sent 3 men to move the contents of a 1500-sq.-ft. house with approximately 30 boxes of books, three beds, a cherrywood secretary and an heirloom dresser. They were hard-working, cheerful, and polite, took no breaks, and had us packed up in 2 1/2 hours. They padded and taped the glass-front bookcases and wrapped the glass shelving of the entertainment center. Once we arrived at our destination, they had us unpacked in 3 hours, including putting back together all three beds. They handled the furniture gently and moved the pieces easily through doorways. They checked with us whenever they were uncertain where we wanted something to go. They were a much better and vastly more professional group than the last movers we hired and I would use them again in a heartbeat.
