They were very efficient with time management and scheduling. They communicated everything upfront and even finished ahead of time. Pricing was excellent and they are very professional; I highly recommend their services.
Description of Work: The initial visit was for a repair on my dryer, but then came to give me a free estimate on other work for a washer replacement.

One of the elements in my oven stopped working and I called the company which replaced a broken wire in the back of the stove. A few weeks later, the element again stopped working. They made a return service call and put in a heavier, ceramic connector. There was no charge for the second call. They were prompt and polite. I would definitely call on them again.

Our refrigerator was not cooling so I called for service after convincing myself it wasn't something I could fix. I called them at 1:30pm and they arrived right away at 3:00pm the same day. He narrowed it down to the defrost controller board, defrosted the freezer so we could use the refrigerator while the part was being ordered, and will return with a controller board once it arrives. There was no charge until the controller board is installed. Two days later they installed the new defrost controller board and the refrigerator is operating correctly. I think the service was excellent and the final cost very competitive. I will recommend them to all our friends.
Description of Work: The serviceman identified the refrigerator cooling problem was due to frost blocking the cooling coils. He took apart the freezer compartment, defrosted the cooling coils, tested the sensor and heater elements (located in the freezer), reassembled the freezer, and ordered a defrost controller board. On the next day they called with the part and scheduled a morning appointment for the next day with the replacement controller board.

The technician worked on the stove and installed the new electronic whatsis that allowed the self-clean cycle to activate. After the heat cycle was apparently functioning properly, he left. Half an hour later, the stove started beeping at me! I called Thompson's office in somewhat of a panic--what if the 800-degree oven wouldn't turn off?? A few minutes later the secretary relayed the tech's message that I should throw the breaker switch in the fuse box, which I did, and a short time later the tech returned. After more examining the oven's electronics, he found yet another malfunctioning whatsis. A second tech, who coincidentally was working nearby, coincidentally had the needed part, and voila, my oven was back to cleaning itself at 800 degrees. By the time all this was done, they had invested almost three hours in our oven's problems. We were really impressed with their trouble-shooting and problem-solving, as well as their friendly and positive attitude with a frustrating sequence of events.
Description of Work: The self-cleaning feature on my 10-year-old oven wouldn't activate, and Mr. Thompson correctly diagnosed the problem. When the necessary replacement part was delivered a couple of weeks later, one of his technicians came to install it.

BBB processed a total of 1 complaint about Thompson Appliance in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period. Of the total of 1 complaint closed in 36 months, 1 was closed in the last year. These complaints concerned : + 1 regarding Customer Service Issues 1 - Failure to provide promised assistance or support for products or services These complaints were closed as: + 1 No Response Horrible Company This company is not to be used. The owner is a jerk and the secretary is rude. I solicated this company for services and they have failed to keep appointments at specified times. They have also failed to deliver quality customer service. If you want to be made to feel like a child then feel free to use this company. If you want to be hung up on then use this company. If you want to spend more money on another repairman after having them come out and given them money then use this company. I have given them several attempts to make the issue/problem right have not made it better. They do not care about the name that they are making for their company. Do Not Use Please do not use this company. They are rude. They have failed to deliver quaility customer service. They do not show up when they say they are or they are two hours early for appointments. They have not backed up there work. Then they delivered an appliance to my house and never even fixed it. Called to ask about this matter and they have failed to reply to my calls. The appliance that they did 'fix' is still not fixed right. I do not recommend this company to ANYONE.
Description of Work: They were supposed to come out and service our dishwasher and look at our microwave.
