Evans Electric

I'm a repeat customer of Evans Electric. Matt and team did all the electrical work 4 years ago when we finished our basement. Fast forward to Nov. 2023, Matt and team did some electrical work for our kitchen reno, plus recessed lights/switches for bathrooms and office. Matt initially came for consultation and estimate (came by on time), provided various options as though it was his house. I always appreciate different perspectives and the conversation that is "if I were you, I would..." or "have you thought about..." This week, Matt and Tim came for the work, and can't say enough about how great the work is, their professionalism, and attention to detail. Looks great! Great communicator, I knew what they were going to do, what was expected. Matt, Tim, thank you for your work! Will definitely use Evans Electric again, and refer my friends to them as well.

Matt is great to work with. He was very consultative on the various projects we had. We're very happy with the results and will use Evans again for future projects.

Evans Electric was very responsive, which is becoming rare for most service providers. We had a 61 yo fuse panel that was a fire hazard and was replaced with a circuit breaker panel. Matt was quick to provide a quote and scheduled the service for the same week. He came on time and finished the job much quicker than we expected. Definitely five star service.

They were great. But he's moved to North Carolina. They were clean, they were kind, they helped out as a matter of fact I tried to call them again and that's when I find out that they had moved to North Carolina he had sold the business.

Had to put wood around it to fit right. Overall went well. Just had to paint the wood afterwards.

They came out on time and did a great job with replacing my electric panel. The price was very reasonable.

He was fabulous. I will use him again. He is quick. He did everything that time. He did great work. He managed to get almost all. He only missed one plug during that time period. He was able to hang all three fans which were awkward angle because I have sloping roof. I was impressed. I had him for two-hours and he got a lot done. He did not charge me more. He said that we would prioritize and he would get what he could do done. He got almost all of it. The ceiling fans were big and a bunch of little things. My ceiling fans were old and they did not have lights on them so I bought new ones. He was great. He understood that I did not have any more money so he got we could get done and gave me tips on how to do other things like the plugs myself which I did not do without my brother, but we got it done.

It went very well. Due to some problems with kitchen appliances not working properly due to bad circuit breakers and knowing the electrical panel is about 30 years old, I thought it was time for the panel to be replaced and possibly upgraded. Matt checked the panel, determined a complete panel replacement was not needed, only replacing all circuit breakers. Some of the installed breakers were failing. The work was done quickly and professionally. Matt spent time as he worked telling me what he was doing and answered my many questions. I especially appreciated his evaluation of our electrical power needs. Based on our electric power usage now and in the future, he said we did not need to increase the amperage of the panel. Since the work was done, all kitchen appliances are now working properly.

This ended up being a two-day job. What others had done before (not from Angie's List) and our own DIY efforts, had to be reworked and corrected. This included rewiring, routing with new conduit, and solving the issue of lights not working, fan going on and off on it's own, and breakers misfiring. Matt was responsive and professional. Will definitely call on Matt again for any and all electrical work.

Excellent service from initial estimate to final work. Matt and his crew were professional, on-time, respectful of our property, careful with our indoor-only cats (not letting them out), and did an excellent job on all of the electrical work. They went "above-and-beyond" in many ways. Our house was built in the 1950's and has some "funky" electric work. Matt was creative in solving problems and safety issues while staying within our budget. We highly recommend them, and we will use them again.

Everything went extremely well. A previous electrician left some work undone and Matt got it fixed. I recommend him highly. I steer away from contractors that are priced real low or too high. Matt is upper middle and I feel he saved me money with his experience and know-how.

Matt came to my house. We discussed my electrical needs. He determined that I did not need a new electrical panel and told me to contact Angie's List for a refund.

Matt was very responsive via telephone. I called a week or so ahead of time, to time it so I could be home during a day off from work. I was trying to get the first appointment of the day, but missed it. However, that morning, he called to say he was ahead of schedule, and did I still want him to come as early as possible. Very helpful. He quickly installed the new outlet I asked for in my garage, and figured out why an outlet in our family kept shorting out. Yes, perhaps I could ultimately have done these things myself, but he did them quickly, efficiently, and right the first time. He also spent some time with me (at my request) to talk about my options for upgrades to my main electrical panel, advising as to cost, disruption, where digging would be required, etc. I would definitely call him again - and will be doing so shortly. I have another small project that I'd like to get his skills working on, and that reminded me that I needed to do this review!

At the same time I was having remodeling companies give me quotes on a complete remodel of my kitchen and bath. I went with a company that included a complete rewiring of the house. It was easier and more reasonable to to it all with the same company to deal with permits. I certainly will be calling Evans Electrical if I have any other electrical needs.

Matthew was prompt and direct in his recommendations. We were not entirely sure of our options and he ultimately recommended a cheaper solution! In this case, we were looking to have all the outlets grounded in our home, and, based on the area and our needs, Matthew offered the idea that we install a sort of surge protector for the entire house.

It was a great experience. Joe went with me to Home Depot to pick out sockets and an overhead lamp and needed wiring, etc. Came back to the house and he installed everything within the $99.00 amount of time I had pre-purchased on a Best Deal (I can't remember if it was for 3 or 4 hours). Everything looks and works great! Best money I ever spent!

I called Matt to have him come out to my home to give me an estimate on installing a 220 line to be used for an above ground spa. He made an appointment to come out the next Tuesday, he then sent me a text saying he could not make Tuesday would Wednesday or Friday work. I was out of town on business and let him know those days did not work and he suggested the following Monday, so we set a time for 11:00 am. Matt did not show for the appointment at 11:00 on Monday and did not respond when I sent him a text message asking if he was still coming by. From the looks of the other reviews Matt does good work when you can get him there, but waisting someones time by not showing up and not having the professionalism to call and say I can't make it, earns you an "F" in my book.

He came on time he did a very detailed estimate and he answered all my questions. No question was to small,and I would use him again . I was not able to have the work done yet due to personal reasons but his bid was accurate and fair and no overcharging.

Perfect! What else can I say? I highly recommend Evans Electric. Honest, dependable, punctual, high quality work... I have additional work needed for a kitchen upgrade ald will use them!

Repair was successful. I was able to follow his instructions and repair the GFCI myself.
