ZR landscaping and Grading

ZR did a great job on a pretty hard project. My house has a front yard that has a serious slope that falls off into a busy highway. They made it look easy and completed the project in two days. They tiered the yard into three levels, and I’ll not have to manage it nearly as much now. I’m super pleased with the look and the work and I would definitely hire again.

Zack Raymond and his crew did an outstanding job making the required repairs. The retaining wall looks better than I could have imagined. Zack and his crew worked in freezing weather, always showed up on time, worked hard and were very courteous. Couldn't be happier with the retaining wall repairs, the rip rap and the way the yard looks now with the mulch and grass seed ZR Landscaping put down. Zack and his crew are great!

Anytime we had more than 3 inches of heavy rain, it washed the gravel away in multiple places and left deep ruts in our approx. 90 feet long relatively steep driveway. Zack Raymond (owner of ZR Landscaping & Grading) and his crew graded and resurfaced the entire drive on August 22-23. I decided to wait with a review until after another heavy downpour. As a result of hurricane Michael, we measured a total of 4.1/4" of precipitation and the driveway is still in perfect condition. Bottom line: "This company clearly did a great job, with which I am totally satisfied!"

Zack and his team did an outstanding job rebuilding a 6 foot retaining wall that had collapsed due to the rain. They also dug a trench along the back side of my house and laid new drains to make sure that all of the water moves away from the house instead of toward the foundation. His team was super friendly, cleaned up the job site well and even planted new grass before they left. Zack also came out several times before and after the job was done and was very communicative. I will be hiring again for all my landscaping needs!

Excellent! I sought 3 bids for my project and ZR's was comparable to the others. I chose ZR because of Zack's ideas during the bidding process and his professionalism. His crew had 5-6 people on sight every day who showed up by 9am and worked hard through 4-5pm. Some of the guys even chose to work on Saturday and the 4th of July to keep the project moving forward. The foreman of the crew was easy to work with and receptive to small changes I would make as the work proceeded. I also wound up making some major changes to the project midway through with a good understanding of how that would affect the final price. A big request of mine was to avoid using large equipment in the backyard which meant they would have to handcarry 40-150lb rocks over a 100yds to the rock wall site. Although this work took longer than expected it didn't affect my final cost which says a lot for the integrity of ZR honoring their bid. I plan to hire them again in the Spring to complete a few other projects we are considering and would definitely recommend them to my friends.

I read the bad review, and while I feel sorry for that person, our experience with ZR Landscaping was outstanding and their work continues to hold up beautifully. What follows are details of our very positive experience. Zack answered the phone himself on a Sunday and scheduled the estimate visit for the following Wednesday. We knew it would be a very expensive job because we had been told by a neighbor that the driveway and its drainage had been a problem for the previous two homeowners for about 30 years and that they only scraped it to sell the house. After one year, the driveway was in horrible condition. Zack listened carefully to our concerns and gave us his ideas on how to rebuild it. We had gotten another estimate that we thought was a bit high and Zack gave a written estimate that was nearly $1000 less. He got the estimate to us within a day via email. On the estimate, he clearly detailed the materials including delivery (30 tons of ABC gravel, 15 tons of RipRap gravel, 30 tons fill dirt, PVC pipe) labor cost and taxes. By the time we were able to get the work done, the driveway was nearly impassable with huge ruts and gullies. Gravel washed away with every storm. We had to warn visitors about the driveway before they came. We had weather delays (it was early December) before we were able to set a firm date, but Zack texted me promptly and kept me informed all the way. The work took two full days and required 30 tons more gravel than estimated, but there was no change in the price. Zack showed up early with his crew of four guys. They were all polite, respectful, and worked intensely from the moment they showed up until the end of the full days. The guys seeded and put burlap over the soil alongside the driveway and it has grown in nicely. This past spring, we had over 5" of rain in two days, plus many heavy rainstorms since. Our driveway is absolutely solid. There has not been the least bit of washing away or drainage issues. The grading was correctly done, drainage installed properly, and it is a joy to come home every day to our lovely driveway. Our driveway problems have been solved. We strongly recommend ZR Landscaping and Grading and will use them again.

Zack and his team did a superb job on two projects for us: they regraded our driveway and put down fresh gravel, and landscaped several very overgrown areas with river stone, landscape fabric, mulch, and new shrubs. Everything looks excellent and was done over just a few days at a very reasonable cost.

Went very well. Zack made sure I was aware of what was happening with weather delays, what his plans were for the job, and made sure I was happy with the outcome. They were punctual, worked quickly and did a good job, and the entire crew was very polite and personable. Good group of guys. Would hire them again in the future without any hesitation.

Murphy's law is an adage or epigram that is typically stated as: Anything that can go wrong, will Well, the adage above has continues to surface concerning the poor workmanship of ZR Landscaping, with new address noted as Alexander, NC and it continues to snowball out-of-control. The Owner is no where to be found for getting out here and fixing his two so-called Supervisor's ongoing multiple blunders since they were eventually identified by 10 Landscaping Contractors have been out to our property and gave us the bad news. We eventually paid its owner over $20,500. and it appears that almost everything they claimed they did has "FAILED" miserably to say the least* This needs to be publicized and make this Owner accountable. We have given this guy almost three + months to get back out here and he is nowhere to be found !! This is based upon the result of faulty workmanship rendered by one of your Landscaping Companies listed with you. What really irks us that he took advantage of senior citizens and now that this has escalated into an absolute nightmare. In some states, price gouging people in their 60's is criminal. We have been visited Lowe's and obtained new estimates and Zack Raymond overcharged us on almost every single material he alleges he used on our property. I requested that he provide us with proof on the materials and he danced around that the actual receipts were in the customer's folder. At this stage of the game, we have no idea on what it is going to cost to fix these failures. We are retired and expected to get a "class act " work product, but now every facet of the job is now failing. We have had multiple landscaping competitors come out here and are shocked on the so-called work that demanded to be paid for !!! No receipts provided for so-called materials, etc. Promised to bring them back here and now it's three later & Owner is nowhere to be found ?? This is no longer a joke.....it is actually criminal !!! We feel obligated to get this company on record for doing this to us and walked off the job site since February 22, 2018 and we are quite angry on what has transpired. We are really angry that his two "stupervisors" destroyed our ne home's driveway on 3 1/2 months. They screwed cleaning up their mess they caused to it and it has been deemed 75% damaged with spillage from their mulch truck's hydraulic oil and dirty brown mulch stains. These "good ole boys" told Owner that their pressure cleaner broke down and they did the best that they could......WRONG !!! We obtained a professional estimate from a reputable cleaning company in Asheville, NC and Owner agreed to use them. He had the nerve to tell this gentleman that we were nothing but pia's and I give you $100. to shut them up for two small stains. He never came out here and the initial bill would run $1,000. to start and take 2-3 days to hopefully get cleaned. We have not heard from Zack Raymond in two months.. We guess that he figures "it's easy to just walk away & disappear"?? Our backyard is in "shambles,no grass in the yard after paying for 300 lbs. of KY 31 & Annual Rye seed and a disgusting looking driveway !!! As far we are concerned, ZR Landscaping & Grading Company deserves a ZERO score rating. !!! We never expected to go through such turmoil, my wife has been sick for over six weeks due to bug bites she sustained to both of arms and neck from this area and our back porch area smells like a sewer. Need I say anymore....One Angry Customer Using AngiesList website!!!!!

very well......this company's seeding/aerating and the wonderful rain that we have had got the grass growing exceptionally.

I've had four other encounters with landscapers and had not had good experiences. I told my wife I was going to start a landscaping company and call it "On To The Next Job Landscaping" because that was pretty much the story for the others. ZR Landscaping did exactly what we contracted to have done, did it better than I expected, and came back to make sure it was right. I highly recommend.

The team worked for 2 days. Very Professional, courteous, and timely. They were able to make suggestions, adjust plans and adapt to changes required. We look forward to working with Zachary and the team in the spring on grading and amending the soil for the rest of our yard. Only wish that they would have been able to complete the building and pouring of the concrete stairs leading to our yard (This is outside of their scope and I had to have 2 different companies complete that project).
