ZR Landscaping and Grading

We had some water drainage issues at our home. ZR Landscaping did a great job helping to solve the issue. I recommend them. Easy to work with and over delivered.

There is no way to adequately say what a great job ZR Landscaping did on our home. From designing the layout of our front yard all the way to cleanup at completion everything was done professionally and completed as promised. Zac was attentive to our needs and desires and the crew doing the install was wonderful. They had great work ethic and were always courteous, even when I asked them to change out a couple of boulders. We will be doing some work in our side yard in the near future and ZR Landscaping will be the only company we will use.

While we are still awaiting installation of our project, we have been very pleased with the professional nature of our interactions with ZR Landscaping. I feel we are in great hands, and looking forward to enjoying the final product.

They did an amazing job on installing drainage with river stone across our front yard. They also enlarged our existing flower beds to help with the drainage and put in a lovely path from our front door through the flower beds. The crew and the supervisor were all extremely professional and respectful of our property. They arrived on time and worked hard throughout the duration of the project. I would highly recommend them!

We hired ZR to build a long dry river bed for us for a culvert we found on our property. They came out and answered all of our questions. Their quote was very reasonable especially given the amount of work involved. When their crew arrived they got to work quickly, weâ re very professional and knocked the project out in less than a day. Just had our first heavy rain since it was installed and it worked great. We would definitely recommend them and we will be hiring them again.

Very easy to work with and already hired for more work. When you have minor adjustments during the job they are quick to act. They take the time to do it right and work fast. Absolutely love the final outcome!

Zach was great to work with. He came out quickly to look over my project. I recently bought a house and it had an enormous backyard that is shaded by trees and orientation of the property. He listened to what I wanted/needed and gave me options way better than what I had come up with. They came when they said they would, kept me updated on the project and finished on time!!

Zach is an exacting professional. He listened carefully to our overall goal, and then made suggestions regarding the specifics.. We hired ZR to plant privacy trees in our yard. The planting process was efficient and precise. It is now 3 weeks since our 4.5' trees were planted. They are 6' tall today. Great job!

I called Zack to come look at a drainage run off issue I was having. He came out within 24 hours and assessed my situation and came up with a better plan than I was expecting. Very professional job easy to deal with. Recommended him to my neighbor as well.

Professional and great value for the money.

Zack and his company not only placed two retention walls on a slope that was a mud slide and in dire need of reconstruction. They also graded, place erosion control plants and sodded the yard. He also pointed out spots that could potentially be problematic in the future and helped construct a plan to deal with that as well. Zack always responded a timely manner, always gave the best advice, but always receptive of one s opinions. He always tried to steer you in the most effective approach while considering ones desires for their property view/value. I will most definitely use Zack and ZR landscaping for any future needs.

We wanted some landscaping done on the front of our house where previous landscaping was done. We wanted new sun tolerant bushes and removal of other bushes. We also wanted weed barrier, jut matting, and mulch. I contacted Zac and he sent out Roger who took our information and told us that he would get back with a quote. We had the quote 2 days later. We had to wait until April to get the work done due to Winter. The work started on April 1st. It was supposed to take 2 days but took 3...no big deal. I was home half a day for the first day, the end of the day on the second, and all day for the last. It started out great, but then turned a little south on the second day. Roger was our foreman. He was nice, but was on the phone a lot in his truck, or doing paperwork, or left a lot and the guys were there alone. On the second night before Roger left he told me that they had some plastic barrier pieces left over from another job that they placed on our landscaping to help keep the mulch up. We are on a pretty steep hill so I thought that was a nice touch along with the jut matting underneath. He also told me that the plants would be watered before the guys left. Well, the plants never got watered and the barriers that he placed were put on top of the slippery black weed barrier and not on top of the jut matting. He decided not to put jut matting in a spot, (I guess, to see how it would work). When I went outside to check on everything after they left I could see black underneath the much. I moved the mulch and there was no jut matting. When I got home the next day they had covered the whole area with mulch and you could see where it was falling down the hill exposing the black weed barrier. I asked him about it and he said that was where they put the plastic barriers. I said, that is not working and made them move all the mulch off the barrier and put the jut matting down. The last day I was home the whole day. I had noticed in the morning that on the last area they had a strip of jut matting and then nothing, then another strip and then nothing. He saw me and asked if I was going to be home the whole day, and I said yes. His face sort of lost a little expression. I then asked about the jut matting and why it was not covering the whole hill like we asked and paid for. His excuse was that he misquoted us and had went over budget on the jut matting. So instead of doing it right he was going to rip us off, thus the lack luster look when I said that I was going to be home. Well, I made them put the jut matting everywhere and then he watered the plants and was done. Some of our plants died after the frost, but would have anyway because they were not heat tolerant. Nowhere on the hill is there one bit of shade. That is why we wanted heat tolerant plants. Spoke with Zac and he said that he would send another foreman out and that he would come out 45 mins after they got there to remove some plants. He did not show up so only 3 were replaced since the new foreman did not know what the other plants that were not heat tolerant looked like. They ended up giving us 6 plants for free. Forgot to mention that one tree and 4 plants were not brought, but I was going to get charged the full price with Roger. I deducted the amount and paid for what we got. All in all Zac made it right but I would watch out if you have Roger for the foreman. Jason was our second foreman and the guys loved working for him. I appreciated him also. Thank you Zac for making it right. I would definitely use your company again without Roger.
