Randy Tarleton's Custom Painting

This painter sotle my client's money and did not finish the job. Everyone beware of this criminal contractor.

This job went horribly. Our bedroom had paint on the ceiling and in the tray area that was not supposed to be there. Randy advised that he would come out the following week and paint the ceiling to remedy the situation. He never showed. He then advised that the guys who painted that room were intoxicated at the time.

The work was Great! He and his workers are so courteous and thoughtful. He moved all our things and covered everything to make sure there was no dripping. The finish looked perfect. He made sure my wife saw it finished to get her approval. (since she is really the boss) In one area it the paint was not the right color he painted it again once we got the right color with no questions or re-pricing. Just a very affordable and quality painter. I highly recommend his work.

Just writing this makes me angry. He had no idea what he was doing, and sprayed the entire deck with a fine mist, then rolling when necessary. Also left lovely stain and fingerprints on the white screened in porch and other painted areas. Sloppy job, terrible communications, and the deck is a combo of sparse, misted on stain mixed with glazed areas where there was too much stain applied. He claims to know paint and staining but I warn you to stay away from this company. It rained 2 hours after he finished applying, and he never showed up to check on it, despite constant requests to do so. The rain did not help the stain job, but the work was so incredibly bad when he left -- this just added insult to injury. He will not even tell us the type of stain he used, or leave a sample can, so that we can tell a competent painter what he did when we have it repaired. Going out and looking at my very expensive deck makes me sick. We paid him half up front and then I asked for him to come back the next day after my husband had time to inspect it. He came back at noon the next day and my husband made it clear that he was paying him the remaining $400 not because he was happy, but because we are honest people and we expect him to guarantee his work. We are still waiting on Randy to "Make It Right." When we complained to the person who recommended him from work, she relayed this info to him and he was going to "call us asap". We have never seen him since, and gave up on leaving voice mails. Incompetent and careless work on a very expensive deck that will now have to be completely sanded and restained to even begin to repair the damage done. We can't afford to do this again, so we sit and live with it - a big, sloppy, expensive mess. I might add that I have left 5-6 complimentary Angie's List reviews since joining last year, and this was my first experience with such a poor company that somehow got an "A". Makes me want to cancel my membership.

Interior paint. Did a huge job in 2 days and it looked flawless. He came in with a co-worker, didn't chat much like past painters have, but was very friendly and courteous and did the job in 2 days. I worked upstairs and had my 2 month old in the house and felt very safe. The job was perfectly done. We hired him for our rental property and had the same experience.
