The Davey Tree Expert Company

I have been a customer of Davie expert tree company for the past 7 years for lawn, tree and shrub care. Out trees tress bloomed as usual in the spring and lawn, tree and shrub treatments were applied. By mid April we saw decline in three maple trees and several ligustrum bushes. It’s now June and we have 3 dead maple trees, 2. maple trees dying, 1 crepe myrtle dying and 20 ligustrum bushes dead or dying. No one else in the neighborhood problems. The only difference between us and our neighbors is The Expert Dave’s Tree Company.

Perfect! They were very professional and did exactly what we agreed on. Even cleaned up the yard after they finished. I recommend them highly and would use them again for any tree work I have in the future.

Salesperson did not listen to our needs. We were told we'd get our quote in no more than 2 days. 2 days passed and no word. I called and they said I'd hear back that same day. No word back. I called again and they said the next day. No word back. Finally a few days after that I got a quote. If that's the level of service before we even get work done, I don't want to move forward with it. Their lawn/tree and shrub care prices/services are reasonable though.

Very well. The crew skillfully pruned the trees, removed a dead one, and cleaned up everything when they were finished.

Perfectly. DTE arrived on time, gave me good info, and removed the tree in a matter of a few hours. Excellent cleanup as well.

I loved them. Everything was wonderful. The price was very good.

We have used them before. We had a lot of work done and it took a couple of days. They left the area just fine. They knew what they were doing. They worked on some high trees and they were experienced. They didn't damage anything and they used their safety equipment properly.

It was fine, it was good. They showed up when they were suppose to, did their work and cleaned up fine. No Problems. It was an Oak tree that went down and they cut the bigger pieces up into pieces I could burn.

The response was quick, but they disorganized on follow up. They gave me a quote to do the job, and then I never heard from them again. The pricing was good.

Trees were sprayed on two different occasions with good results, even though they should have been sprayed much earlier in the spring. The leaves have stopped falling and they look healthy. Will probably get trees sprayed early next spring to avoid the falling leaves. Many other trees on this street have the same fungus infection, so this will be an ongoing process/problem.

As far as I know, it went well. I think they do a very good job. The price was comparable to the other tree services we've used. It was a fair price.

It was pretty expensive and I didn't realize what I was getting into. I didn't realize they were going to keep coming and I would get the bills in my mailbox that they had been there. When I got the fourth one then it was like twice what teh others had been. It was running around 100 and then I got one that was around 300 and I called and told them to stop, but they kept the tree healthy. I think they are really good, but they are really expensive. They were so responsive, I didn't even realize that I had signed for them to keep coming like that. They were really professional.

It was okay. They come out regularly - I use them every month. I would use them again in the future.

Kudos to Matt Emmerson, the ISA certified arborist who made several trips to look at the trees/roots and performed a free estimate /analysis. He helped us come up with a solution that helped save some trees that might otherwise have been cut down , and brought his years of experience in pest control plus arborist experience to the job. I will definitely use this company again, thanks to their customer service and truly going above and beyond to be GREEN and also balance out homeowners' need for home safety.

Extremely pleased!!!! Davey Tree services came highly recommended by my landscape designer and they did not disappoint!!!! The price quote for the amount of trees and location to the house was surprisingly below what I had anticipated. In addition, the price quoted was the price I paid. There were no mark ups or hidden fees. Keith, the arborist, understood my desire to keep the look of a wooded area and cutting down as little trees as possible while choosing trees that were dead/dying or could provided issues with landscaping or falling towards the house later down the road. The team was amazing!! I could not believe the amount of work that they accomplished in 2 days. In addition, when I had an urgent need for stump grinding, Davey was able to come out to my house within a few business days of my call. Amazing!!!!!! There was about a month delay from the assessment until services rendered due to their workload, but they are worth it.

It took a long time to schedule the service and we had several miscommunications during the process. The work was finally completed.

The service was good. There were no problems with the quality of the work. It was a small job, so i wasn't sure when they would come out and get it done. I sent in a couple of requests, and they replied very quickly. I think the pricing was good. I had made some inquiries to some other companies, and they were the first ones to come out and give some reasonable quotes. They were punctual. They showed up when they said they were going to be there.

Representative responded to a call for an estimate of cleaning up damage from a bad storm. Rep came promptly and was very pleasant to work with. Did not pursue as work was performed by a company hired by the Home Owner's Association.

I contacted them because of someone's experience I read about on Angie's List. I contacted them and they followed up with me right away. The work was at a rental house we have in Raleigh. The work needing to be done was easy to describe so Keith Wright went out to look at the job without me having to drive the 20 miles to the house to meet with him. He emailed me a detailed estimate breaking down the costs into two amounts since I was not certain how much of the work I would get done since that would be price dependant. He worked with me a bit on the price, scheduled right away, did not require me to go out and followed up with me so I could let my tenants in the house know when he would be there. The work was done when promised, as promised. I drove by to check that the work was completed and the only sign they had been there was the fact the limbed are gone. I may have been able to find someone to do it a little bit cheaper if I had called lots of companies but I am certain I would also have found most of them would have been more expensive. The price was good and the entire experience was made as easy for me as it could be.

They were very thorough and they cleaned up really well. They did not leave the water trash and moved all trims and stems out.

They were very prompt, courteous, on time and very easy to communicate with. They gave me a quote fast and printed it out. I really like quotes printed out better because I like to see and be able to pass it around for other people's opinions. I haven't quite made a decision if I am going to use them but probably will. I am trying to decide if I want to get more quotes or not.

Responsive in setting up appointment for estimate and arrived on time for estimate. We were looking for removal of two cedar-like trees (both approximately two stories tall), stump grinding, and removal of debris. Estimate was $400 to simply cut the trees off at ground level with a chainsaw and remove debris. We were informed they could refer us to someone to have the stumps ground, but that was not included in their services. Perhaps our job is too small for this company to bother with, but it did not appear as though this company really wanted our business. We were really wanting to support a local company that is just around the corner from where we live, but in getting other estimates for half of this company's (including stump grinding and debris removal), we just cannot.

This company was efficient and quick to respond- had an evaluation and price the next day- the crew showed up on time, were knowledgable and did a good job- there was a small communication problem regarding what was in the contract on 1 of the trees but this was resolved quickly and to my satisfaction. I will definitely us them again.

Requested a written estimate. Did not get one. Trusted that they understood what I requested, that was my mistake. I requested two trees be trimmed so that they did not overhang my roof. They did not trim both trees based on my request. I had to leave while they were working, assuming they were not done with the job. When I returned, they were gone. I requested the salesperson return to assess what was not done. This person was not pleasant and refused to make good based on the fact that the job was not done according to my understanding. He stated that he understood that both were to be trimmed, but not necessarily removed from overhanging the house. That was not my original request, but since I did not receive an written estimate, I had no way to argue. Very disappointed in the person's attitude and his lack of willingness to work with me. There was no discount offered. I would not recommend nor use this company in the future.

Their work is good but they seemed a little expensive.
