Bulwark Exterminating

I've only seen a mosquito or two since they came out. I purchased an Angie's list deal (3 applications for $50 or so). When they sprayed, some did get on my banana plant and turned the leaves brown, banana plants are resilient. The other plants/flowers i have seemed primarily unimpacted.

It went fine and I was happy with the work they did.

It was fine. They did what I said they would do.

It went perfect. I signed up for the yearly service where they come out every two months. That starts in July.

D.Gee the technician was very helpful and courteous as well as friendly. He explained the method to be used in treating surfaces within the house and asked me several questions to gain some knowledge about the type of pest I have dealt with in and around my home. He was thorough and efficient and kept to his appointed time for his visit. Very professional as a technician.

Bulwark contacted almost immediately upon the purchase and scheduled the appointment for the following day. Jeremy was prompt and extremely knowledgeable, and found the source of our problem almost immediately. He throughly explained everything, and completed the treatment while explaining things as he went. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase any additional or followup services (which I really like). Because of that I am planning to use them for regular service going forward. I highly recommend Bulwark for pest control!

They were treating for Palimento bugs. We had issues the first time, but after that,everything was fine. I hired them back to do bi-monthly treatments. We have the same tech come out each time, but we're never home when he comes.

After I did not schedule a date to have the extermination done because of work that was being done at my home, Mr. Griffin of Bulwark Exterminating called me to determine the best time to schedule a date to do the treatment. He was very nice in working around other work that was being done at my home to schedule the appointment, and he was very thorough in his explanation of the treatment that would be done. I would definitely use them again.

Since using Bulwark for an initial pest control treatment through a The Big Deal, we've been using them almost a year on a contracted basis. They phone before coming to treat every other month. If I see any problems, they've been quick to return and treat. They are courteous and professional.

Bugs were completely gone for a couple of days. Even after lots of rain, their numbers are diminished.

First call I received from these guys was from a salesman who immediately tried to get me to sign up for their annual plan...I mean even before we scheduled this treatment. I told the guy I was not signing up for anything until I had them come out and show me that it was worth signing up. He then scheduled my service date within a week or two and then told me he was sending me out an email agreement for a contract which I could cancel anytime. I told him send it but I wasn't signing anything until they came out. The day of my service the tech was on time and extremely professional but the first thing he wanted me to do was sign their agreement for quarterly service. I tried not to go off on the guy because I know its not his fault but I told him the same thing I told the guy on the phone. He said well we always get the customer to sign the agreement before we start so I told him to call his boss and tell him that I purchased the deal through Angie's list, that the deal called for complete service for $69 and there was no mention anywhere that we were required, or even tried to be sold, a quarterly service. He told me he needed to step out and a few minutes later he returned and said his boss would honor the deal. Wow, like i was getting over on them or something. Apparently the great cheap deal (which it was) is just a way for them to sign up more quarterly plans...I call that a bait and switch. Don't offer a deal if you don't initially intend to honor to come right out an honor it. That left a really bad impression. Overall the tech was great, very professional, apologized profusely and did what they promised but I am really disappointed in the way they handled the transaction. To be completely honest, their tech was so good and thorough that if they would have just scheduled my appointment, had the guy show up and do the work the way he did and then asked for a quarterly service plan I would have gladly signed it. But by trying to hustle me into it, first before even scheduling my first appointment based on the Angie's list deal and second as the first thing they do before even providing a service was a really BAD move.

Well, my experience with Bulwark is a really mixed bag. The salesman, Jeremy ( I think ) came out to give me the estimate, and that went well. He analyzed the situation, and recommended a less expensive solution than other companies had recommended. I told him I'd like him to do the work. He promised to come back and do the treatment, but he didn't. And he didn't call. So I called the office, and they got in touch with him. It turned out he'd broken his toe, and was out for a little while - no problem. So he came out and did the promised service. He did a nice job, and he installed the termite monitoring stations around the yard, as promised. He was quick, efficient, polite, and completely professional. While he was there, we discussed Bulwarks mosquito service. Since I was a customer, he quoted me a price of $50 a month, which was very competitive. He promised to come by the next week and bring a contract and start the treatment program. 'That's the last I've seen of him. He's never called, and he's never come by. I thought about calling Bulwark about it, but I'm sure they'd find some way to get him to my house and collect the money, but how would I know he'd ever show up to do the work every month? I don't have time to chase people down, especially when I have to pay for the privilege. So - I just contracted with another company. Sorry Bulwark. You've lost a customer. ***** Update ****** the quality manager from Bulwark contacted me the day after I posted my review and apologized. ( Note that this was fastest response I'd seen from Bulwark on anything so far). He explained that the fellow I'd been talking with was "probably one of our contractors" - as if that helped me in some way. He then offered me a deeply discounted mosquito package to make up for the problems I experienced. I explained that I've already hired someone else, and he said he'd make a note in my file so I could take advantage of the low price next year. That was nice. And of course he did ask me to update my review, and offered to send me coupons for free dinner or something if I did that. I was busy, so I didn't get around to it. He called back a few days later, and asked again if I'd please update my review. This time there was more pressure for me to do so. That really got my goat. In my opinion, he should spend more time trying to fix the problem he has with his contractors, instead of bribing me to change my review. I know his job is to 'manage the customer', but it was a really transparent effort, and violates the intent of Angies List. Note that I have spent part of my career as a process/quality improvement manager for a fortune 500 company, so I am well aware of what was going on. If you can't change your screwed up process, you try to change the metrics to hide the problem. It's am easy thing to do, but it doesn't help anybody in the end. So - despite the deep discount, I won't be calling them back. Update complete - I won't be expecting my dinner coupons.

There were no troubles with scheduling and no additional costs. I haven’t had any ants in my home since they came out to complete the treatment. So far, everything has been working out fine.

It was fine. I had to call them back because I saw a few insects in the following days. As part of the service they came back and re sprayed for me and it took care of it.

A friend recommended this company so when they had a Big Deal, I purchased it. The first specialist that came out was very nice, very professional, but we noticed after he left that our garage was still full of spiders, so I called and requested a re-treatment in that area. They scheduled it immediately and following that, we had no issues. One thing that was different with the first application from what I expected was that he did not take the interior electrical plates off, just squirted through them. My friend had told me that they actually took theirs off for the treatment. Only other thing I would say is he also did not plug everything back in after unplugging to treat, which was a pain for me. The initial scheduling took a while, but again, once I reported a problem they scheduled immediately to come back and retreat. We have since sold the house and are renting, but I would use them again, if needed. They offer treatment plans for seasonal treatments which we did not sign on for, but might have if we had not decided to sell.

When he had finished applying the products he came in and we discussed the plan that the company offered for extended coverage. He also told me that if I saw any spiders or bugs to not hesitate to call the number on the card and they would come back at no charge and spray again. A few days after my home was sprayed I received a call from the company to see if I was satisfied and to make sure that everything was ok. Great service!!! I am now a repeat customer!!! I definitely recommend.

i like that they give a courtesy call to let us know they are coming. i also like that they come whenever we see a few "extra" bugs, ants or whatever to spray (free-of-charge) in-between our bi-monthly sprayings. the men who come are always polite and thorough.

I am a long-time customer. I am totally happy with them. They do not treat inside the house unless you really need them to, they have very people friendly products that they use, and they come out as many times as I need them for their quarterly fee with no problems. It is all very effective. I like that it is natural. I just pay one fee every quarter of $65. I don't pay any more than that ever.

The service was performed on-time and professionally. While the date of the treatment was one day passed the scheduled date they called and informed of the reason and it was handled most professionally. I am very happy and satisfied with their service.

It went well. As with many large companies, there was a disconnect between what the sales people on the phone said and knew, and what the expert who came out knew and advised. I am a customer who asks for a lot of explanation, and the sales people just gave me the party line. Randall, who came out to do the work, had the detailed knowledge that I needed and answered me and advised me on things I wasn't sure about. I felt confidence in him and highly recommend him.

The provider was punctual and professional. They provided a 2 month guarantee for any future issues. So far, I am pleased with the angie's list big deal price for the services performed.

Chris arrived promptly, explained everything he was going to do and completed the work without glitches.

Works OK. We see lots of dead bugs.
