Appliance Repair, Appliance Repair - Small, Heating and Air Conditioning
About us
We’ve been operating in business for 40 years. We fix refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, garbage disposals. My name is Abraham and I am the owner looking to satisfy all of my clients. We do accept emergency services.
My washer was vibrating loudly most of the time. I called ART and Abraham came. After diagnosis he asked for US$105.00 diagnosis fee but said it would be too costly to repair it. I insisted that he tells me what was wrong. He said the transmission which would Cost me over US$400 parts and labor. I felt cheated and called another service provider. The other technician charged US$260.00 parts and labor and said he would not charge diagnosis fee (US$70.00) if we decide to fix it. He replaced suspension rods and it's running really good. No more vibrations. Abraham of ART is a fraud. He lied to me and charged DIAGNOSIS fee but did not fix my washer.

Abraham is extremely professional, polite and courteous and immediately came over when I needed my dishwasher fixed. He also helped me understand what is needed to maintain a dishwasher long term and identified the problem he fixed for me too. He is incredibly knowledgeable about appliances and it took a load off our minds to have him handle the job for us. It does not get better than the service Abraham provided. I would recommend him to all.

This was the worst experience I had. It started off well with him disassembling the dishwasher. He showed me a small piece of what appeared to be a string. However after he put things back on, the machine continued to make the noise I was hoping to get fixed. He said he would look for a part and get back to me. He never did even after I pointed him to where he might find the part. He was very quick in taking the $85. He wanted cash but reluctantly took a cc after saying I’d have to pay tax. Interesting that he does not charge tax on cash. Isn’t that potentially bad practice?

As I told you, the dishwasher water propeller is bent causing it to make noise. I told you that I will try to find the part, which is tricky to find, and would replace it for you. If the part couldn’t be found, you have to replace the whole motor which the propeller comes with. If you had found the part, I told you I could fix it for you. The lack of communication is from your part, not mine. I had told you everything that you needed to know about fixing it.

Abraham was able to respond the day I placed the request, and showed up wearing both a mask and gloves. He did some diagnostic work and identified a damaged motherboard (which he showed to me pointing out visible issues). He had to order a replacement part, which he mentioned would take a few days to arrive, and called me as expected several days later. It didn't take long for him to replace the part and start up the dishwasher, which is running like new again.

He did a great job! It wasn't as simple as changing out the ice maker and he more than earned his money. He never gave up on the job and worked on it until it was fixed no matter what. Would definitely recommend him. He had to go under my house because there was no water shut off in the house. While under there, he found a small leak in the line that needed to be repaired. He could have done it himself and gotten the money for that job also, but he told me about it so I could call my plumber to take care of it and install a shut off behind the refrigerator. He is honest and hard working.

I hired this technician to diagnose a problem with my Samsung refrigerator. He said he represents A. R, T. Appliance repair. However, gave his personal name, not a company name when I was writing him a check, which was looking very shady to me. Also, he refused to leave any official paperwork after completing diagnostic which made me think he did not wanted to leave any paper trace that would prove his findings and earnings and also what he is advising needs to be done to the refrigerator, and therefore afterwards he can easily change his mind if diagnostic is incorrect, which exactly what happened in my case. His diagnostic was wrong, because after he left I called Samsung and they sent their certified technician and Samsung technician came to a VERY DIFFERENT conclusion to what is really wrong with my refrigerator. So I had to pay twice for diagnostic to get it right. I would NOT recommend A. R. T. appliance technician Abraham Habtu to anyone else.

Hi [Member Name Removed], Im surely sorry that my own running business is not how you expected to be ran and organized. The reason for my business is to give cheaper, reasonable prices, to customers that are not willing to pay the high amount the commercial company is charging. On the diagnose I observed the compressor, relay (for the compressor), control board, and the inverter. When I diagnosed the inverter it smelt brunt. I called you and asked to smell it and you said it smelt burnt to. When an inverter is burnt you can see some kind of swelling. I called an appliance store to see how much the inverter would cost in order to repair it, cost was 172 dollars. You proceeded to search yourself online and told me you said it was 145 dollars. I asked following the search, you can order it yourself if you would like but it won’t have a warranty nor be guaranteed. You ordered the part and called me after a week or so, saying “the inverter is not working.” At this point my job ended when you ordered the part and told me you were going to install it yourself. For the past 18 years of doing repair I’ve never cam In counter with a customer having a reasonable true problem of my own working of business. Thanks. And to also correct you on the date the diagnosis happened was on September 23, 2020 (9/23/20)

He got the oven to start. While he was working on the oven he took off the oven door and sat it on the stove. It fell off the stove and hit floor. He put it together and the oven worked and things seemed ok. I paid him. A couple of weeks later the door fell off the oven. I called him to come back to fix the door. He fixed it but wanted me to pay again for putting on a door which fell off because he took it off and didn't put it on right

This is absolutely wrong she had hired me to fix an oven igniter at the time. In order to clearly get to the igniter I had to remove the door, which I had put to the side (on the floor) not on stop of the stove. If it had fallen off the stove, the glass on the door would have broken. After I had fixed the igniter, I had put the door back on the oven the same way I took off, which is fairly easy. She calls me 2 and 1/2 months later saying “the door fell off.” Of course I was confused because I hadn’t done anything wrong. I was ok on going back and helping her fix what had apparently happened. As I got to the house a couple of days later, the oven door was apart in pieces. Screws were even missing. And I wouldn’t understand how she would think the door fell but the glass had not broken? I had put the door back on again the same way I had done it the first time. After I put the door back on, her husband had taken a look at it and said it was the same just like the time you came to fix the igniter. I would really appreciate if you can remove the review. Thank you!

Fine. He called me immediately and was able to come that day which was great. The machine was filled with water and clothes, and we had to empty them for him to be able to see what the problem was. Once that was done he determined it was the switch. Maytag still had the part on this 28-year old warhorse which I love, so I didn't have to get a new machine and am able to continue using it. Abraham was kind and considerate and I appreciated his commitment to wanting to keeping this old machine working.

This is by far the worst experience ever. My warranty company told me they want a 'Samsung Certified Technician' to diagnose my fridge and provide me with an estimate of the cost. I called around different contractors and asked if they are 'Samsung Certified Technician'. When I reached out to Abraham, I asked him the same question - 'Are you a Samsung Certified Technician?'. Instead of answering with a simple 'yes' or 'no', he said 'I can come over on Thursday.' Okay.. so, based on his answer, it sounds like he is 'Samsung Certified'. When he came to my place, he kept on telling me 1.) Fridges do not last more than 8 years. 2.) You should get a replacement 3.) Warranty companies are the worst thing in the world. Why do you want to deal with them? 4.) He kept on advertising himself as "honest" and that he "can't sleep well if he lied" During the Diagnosis, he did not know how to open my water filter. So he said he'll come back tomorrow to continue the diagnostic. The diagnosis is supposed to be $85. But because 1.) he doesn't how to open my water filter 2.) he needed to come to my place one extra time. He charged me $20 extra. So, my diagnostic turned into $105 + tax. The $20 was a last-minute add on charge. I needed an estimate for my warranty company from him. And Abraham did not provide that until 1 week later. I called him every day for an entire week, and he did not pick up any of my calls until 1 week later. After calling him for a week, he said he will give me the estimate and told me to meet up with him at Starbucks. At Starbucks, he sat me down and show me what he wrote down for the estimate but before he can hand over the estimate, I need to go on Angie's List and write him a review. Obviously, I cannot write an 'honest review' when he was sitting across from me. After the review, he said that I need to pay him for the 'labor' which was $180 + tax. Let me clarified, this $180 + tax is for the 'labor' of having him writing me an estimate--nothing else. He did not fix my fridge. He did not order parts to fix my fridge. I was forced to pay $180+tax for an estimate. By the way, he never showed me proof that he is a 'Samsung Certified Technician'. I highly doubt he is a 'Samsung Certified Technician'. He is a scam!

Pathetic to say the least. Here is what transpired. A technician called me and setup an appointment with me. He asked me for the model and make of the microwave. He further mentioned that there will be an initial cost for him to run diagnostics on the appliance. He came over the next day and without even touching the microwave, he says that it's better for me to replace the microwave with a new one given that opening the appliance to diagnose and the repair work might cost me more than getting a new one. He could have said this when he called me. I then insist that he should tell me what the problem is and then let me take a call on getting the microwave repaired or replace it with a new one. Anyway this visit was costing me $85. Note that the microwave is built in which is what you can expect in most of the houses. The agent then struggles to remove the microwave and then finally gives up and tells me that he will need help to take it down from the built in area. I offer him help but he insists that he cannot risk me getting injured. He rather prefers to have one more member from his agency join him in this venture. I decided to put an end to this fiasco and instead asked him to put back the microwave the way it was. He did that and walked out fuming. I wont suggest this agency for appliance repair. Others might have a better experience. But, if you ask me, stay away from them.

This is absolutely wrong. I told him before hand that for me to diagnos his appliance (microwave) that it would cost him $85. if he had hired me do the work the $85 would be waved off. As soon as I was trying to diagnos the microwave, I needed help taking it down from off the wall, which was above my height. He insisted in helping me, but I couldn't take the risk in hurting my customer. So I needed to call one of my guys to help me. He then response with a "no" telling me to put it back on how it was without any diagnostic or repair work. I never charged them for coming to there home. Ive always detected my time to my customers and all my effort in helping what is needed. In every diagnostic I tell my customers what the problem always is, but in this situation I wasted my time traveling to there home and receiving this bad review on something that they had told me to stop working on. I was very curious on why they would give me a bad review on a job that was never worked on. I would very appreciate if you would understabd what actually happened and take done this review.
