Description of Work: Late Friday, my computer caught a virus that completely disabled my ability to use it. The culprits wanted my credit card information in order to "fix" the problem. No way was I going to hand over that information. The culprits made everything look so professional, but I knew they were out to steal my financial and personal information. I found Rapid Technical Services in the Lake Norman Yellow Pages. Luis Maldonado answered the telephone, and we made an appointment for the next day. Early Saturday afternoon, Luis called to tell me he was on the way, and he arrived on time. Luis explained that he would first try to locate the virus on my computer and delete it before taking the more serious step of wiping my hard drive and reinstalling the operating system. Luis offered to return the computer the next day on Sunday or on Monday. On Monday, Luis called before he came, and he arrived around 10:00 am. Luis said the virus needed to be deleted several times because it kept coming back, but he kept at it until the thing was gone. He advised that my virus software had been disabled, and I would need to reinstall it. Luis also advised purchasing an external hard drive, and he gave me places to purchase it and approximate price range. I would need a external drive that had an automatic backup feature. Good advice! Before Luis left, he asked me to turn on the computer and drive it like I normally would to confirm that things were back in place. Everything looks normal.
