septic tank
 + -1 moreTook an entire day (off 2-3-21) to have them pump out our septic tank....after waiting until around 3:00 pm I called to check on their status. Got a return call around 2hrs later to say they wouldn't make it. I should have listened to my neighbors.

 + -1 moreCalled as expected and showed up on time. Very pleasant and helpful man, worked alone to find the tank, and dig in my lawn and located the tank lids. He dug in only the areas that was necessary, and afterwards, filled the holes and did a pretty good job considering that he's in the septic business and NOT a landscaper. Didn't mind me watching and asking questions. Explained what I should and shouldn't do for a healthy septic system. He was very efficient, wasted no time at all. The only thing that put me off is when he had to "call in" for the price of the bacteria that he added to my system. That seemed a little dodgy.... he should know the price of this... he sells it all day long.
Description of Work: Found and dug septic tank outlets, pumped septic tank, cleared a possible clog, and added bacteria to tank

 + -1 moreThey said the would show up and do the work for the price they quoted me. When they came, they were standoff-ish. The price was $200 more than quoted. I called the office as the tech was backing out of my driveway. I asked them to wait until I spoke with the office. After speaking with the office personnel, I told the man in the truck to do the work. The tech said he would be right back. I called the company and they did not answer because he had been gone for an hour. So, I called with another number and they answered. When I knew it was me- they were irritated. The tech had been gone for an hour and did not come back. They were rude and when I talked to other people, I found that other companies had to follow-up and redo this company's work.
Description of Work: They did not show up the day they were supposed to come.

Description of Work: My septic tank was backed up, there was a horrible odor and the pipes were leaking. We called a plumber, he fixed the pipes, then we called Massey's to fix the backed up septic tank. I had an alarm in the garage, but it was turned off so I wasn't aware of the leak until I smelled it. Masseys came out, fixed the back up, and they were quick to respond and come out. I honestly don't remember how much it cost- like I mentioned- there were also plumbers involved. I'm not the one who actually pays for the work, I just submit the bill, I didn't pay much attention to it. But, the job was fixed quickly and Massey's left me with a years supply of the enzymatic septic stuff (the kind of thing you're supposed to flush down your toilet monthly). I appreciated that, since the equivalent (rid-x) is expensive. I would definitely call them again, mainly since they came so quickly and did the job right. |BTW, after they came, there was a separate issue- the floater thing was malfunctioning, so it was stuck and making the septic alarm go off even though there wasn't a problem- I was worried, I called these guys, the reassured me they stood behind their work, and they came out RIGHT AWAY, the same day- turned out, it wasn't anything they did, just a stuck floater thing. Nice to know that, had there been something wrong, they would have corrected it quickly though.

 + -1 moreI called this company because the phone book ad said "since 1960". I do not know how they can remain in business that long doing business practices this way... check that.. I do know, they charge outrageous amounts to people that sometimes pay it. This company was called out to locate and pump our septic tank. House 30 yrs old, we've lived her almost 2 yrs and did not know where the tank was. In fairness to Massey, it was a difficult job to locate. My problem was with the total lack of communication and attempt to "gouge" the heck out of us. Brandon was the 1st tech and he was nice enough. He spent 1/2 day try to probe the back yard and find the drain field. He said he would come back the next day with a plumber who had a camera. Long story short, the next day he showed up with the plumber, they couldn't find the tank, they dug up my backyard, called for reinforcements, 3 guys showed up, smoking cigarettes, pumping trucks left running in my driveway, camera gave out, gave up locating the tank, offered to pour septic treatment down toilet and Terra lift our yard, with labor already involved for $4,000. RIDICULOUS. Expressed my complete outrage, almost threw them off my property, spoke with the owner and "settled" for $500 to LEAVE. Ended up calling another company to locate the tank, Terra lift and do the job right for total of $1500.

 + -1 moreWhen our septic alarm went off I called Massey and they sent Bill and Chuck out right away (there was a third guy who sat in a chair the entire time). They discovered that a pipe connection had come apart and that our pump float switch was defective. They gave me a quote which I told them I had to discuss with my husband who I couldn't get on the phone because he was in a meeting. I told them I would call them after my husband and I had a chance to discuss it. They then told me there would be a $125 charge for the service call which no one in their office had mentioned. Just as they were about to leave, my husband called and authorized the repair. They fixed the problems and activated our septic tank and adjusted the drain field, all of which took about an hour. The guys were pleasant and knew what they were doing but after discussing this with others who have had similar services performed by other septic companies, we feel they are far too expensive to ever use again.
