Established in 2001, our business provides energy efficient solutions to customers throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. We hold general contractor and electrical licenses, and are Building Performance Institute-accredited Seal, Insulate, and Envelope specialists. In addition, we are a RESNET certified HERS rater. Our services include home energy audits, energy efficient retrofits, blower door tests, custom attic ventilation, solar attic fans, electrical attic fans, gable mounted fans, seal and insulate, radiant barrier, solar sky lights, attic tents, LED and CFL lighting, infrared imaging, combustion safety testing, mechanical efficiency, duct leakage testing, carbon monoxide testing, garage ventilation and many more.

Description of Work: My first contact with them, they sent someone out to assess the job. I needed to update my attic insulation. The person was professional, pleasant, and set up appointment to do the work. He also informed me that I would qualify for an energy rebate from my provider. The day of the appointment, they called to say the job before took a little longer and they would be later getting to me, about a half hour. They completed the job, cleaned up after themselves and said their office manager would call for information regarding the rebate. In a few days that was taken care of and I received the check in due time. I was very pleased overall.

Description of Work: The Fan Man installed 2 roof fans in our new home. I used them over 15 years ago at our old house. About 5 years ago one of the fans died - the replaced both. Why wouldn't I call the Man. Very professional, stand behind their work and no mess.

Response from Fan Man
I feel badly that we did not meet this customers expectations, we try very hard to deliver higher than expected customer service, installation and follow through. We initially did an attic ventilation and insulation inspection for this customer and found that she had paid for over $1000 worth of insulation that was never installed under her home. She was able to get the initial contractor to return to finish the job. There was a 2 week lapse between the time of the evaluation and the time she recieved the report, there is no excuse for that. The techician who did the initial evaluation recommended a blower door test to measure the air leakage of the home, those results were to be part of the report. I, Mark Romano failed to get the blower door scheduled in a timely manner. Once we did schedule the blower door test it was for a Thursday morning at 8 AM. I ultimatetly needed to take my son to school that morning and drop him off at 8 AM, then I had to load everything for an out of town trade show into a trailer. I called at 7 AM to make sure that was going to work as I was in Mooresville and she lives in South Charlotte. Then from there I was driving to Raleigh to set up and work a trade show. Once I spoke to her she didn't seem happy about the delay but told me to just come on anyway if I could be there by 11 AM. I got everything together and was less that 1 mile from her home and she called and said "since we just can get our act together" she wanted to cancel. That was the last time I spoke to [member name removed] even though we exchanged several calls and modified the initial report several times to reflect different insulation and air sealing options. I am sorry she had negative experience with our company and would love to have an opportunity to make it right. We did ultimately deliver a very detailed attic ventilation and insulation evaluation report, as well as help get the insulation that wasn't done by the previous contractor finished for her.
