We had hired Avanti for inside job about 3 years ago and had an overall good experience, this time was the complete opposite. Seems John (the owner) lost his main lead painter, the 2 who were here did not know how to spray and left a huge mess. After day one of spraying we had overspray covering 80% of our deck, patio furniture, windows, sunroom custom screens (1/2 need replaced) and most of spray came out with "orange peel" look - we decided to let most of this go as it was above eye level but he said they would sand and repaint door, never did, just painted over. His guys attempted to clean, got up over 1/2 on deck but more remains, will need restained. He said, "we got up any and all paint" ... pictures say different. He also said he has "proof that paint can't go through screens and get on windows". My pictures say different. He also blamed me for not telling him they were vinyl windows in sunroom. Not sure how that makes a difference as screens are ruined from paint. They made no effort to clean up debris, paint chips, paint on hoses, door mats, etc. We even found NAILS in the driveway that were just yanked out and left where we could have easily driven over them! They did not sand chipped paint just painted over as seen in a few pictures below, some is already peeling. Then on top of the horrible work John took zero responsibility, was rude, condesending, insulting, and tried to blame me and attack my character. I kept all correspondence both written and in person to the unsatisfactory work. He was aggressive, yelled, blamed , etc., to the point, that as a female I did feel bullied/ threatened and just wanted him gone. Then he tries to say what a great person he is because his guys spent 10 minutes cleaning up stuff they didn't do. Hmm, what about the 40 plus hours it will take to clean up their mess. Procedes to lecture me on "not doing the right thing" and that he is a "giver" and I am obviously a "taker". Yes, we have kept money back from final payment because costs to repair/replace will be more than what he is asking for. Please learn from us, stay far away from Avanti painting and John Fioravanti.

The quality of the work was good but the schedule inconvenienced us for more than two weeks. a couple delays were due to material issues but a good contractor would have corrected it and finished the job instead of just moving on to other jobs. In the end, the owner criticized us for the delays and was extremely rude.

I was recently aware of this post. I disagree strongly.... here is the truth... the client wanted to pick up the product/stain himself because he was gettin a 10% discount from a home improvement store.. he insited on this... when we started I told him how product we needed, but he only picked up half of that amount so we ran out of product after the first day. The next day when we arrived there was a completly different product and color there...I was told by his cleaning lady that he was still sleeping and could not be disturbed. I was able to explain to her that her what happened. So we wasted 3 hours of our day... Without an apology he called later that day and asked when we were coming back...he said he now has the correct product and stain.. when we arrived the next day, I asked him why didint he just bring the empty gallon and ask them for 1 more. He said he did not think of that.. The next part of the job was a floor stain that is a different product than the spindles... When we arrived it was there and once again we ran out of this product as well because he did not listen to me. So the next day we arrive to put the 2nd coat on the floor...and once again the wrong product...! ...I mean not even close...so there I am with 4 of my employees once again with no stain no work... So I was able to speak with his wife as she was leaving for work. I told her what happened again... she said he has some problems...as he does not work...he once again was sleeping and we could not interrupt him... Althogh these delays cost me time and money... I never voiced any of this to them at that time. I did not hear from him until the next day, when once again not offering any apology at all he said he was not mentally capable of handling this task of picking up additional stain .. so I offered and he said thats fine.. when he refers to delays with material issues this is what he is referring to. I will swear to this under a polygraph/ stack of Bibles, etc. When we were finish up his job, he was very erratic, nervous, talking to himself etc. he made an offhanded comment to one of my employees aboout how long the job was taking, of which I did not appeciate, ( I thought i was on a tv show or something... no one could be that rude...) so at that time I said to him that if we had the the products there... we would have been finished 3 days ago. We have been working for 23 years in this area and have never, ever, ever, had such a rude, sarcastic, insensitive customer as this...I would rather live under a bridge before I worked for him again. And also the amount I charged him was $921.00 not $1,500 as he mentiones... I can produce my invoice and a copy of his check if anyone questions this... I have alot of pride in my business, that is the only reason I addressed this , as I am very busy providing a great service to many satisfied customers, of which I provide a list of with each quote... Once again all I mentioned here is the truth and I will be happy to challenge any of these facts. John Fioravanti Avanti Painting

Superior, professional job. John Avanti came to our home to quote the job and then after we accepted the quote, he returned a few days later with his crew to complete the work. Work was completed in one and a half days. John and his crew were punctual, polite, neat and clean, and completed all work on schedule. Price was not cheap but he is a professional painter - you get what you pay for. After work was complete, John returned and made sure we were satisfied with the job. While following up and inspecting his crew's work, he noticed the tops of some doors in another area of the house had never been painted by the builder years earlier. He took it upon himself to get some matching paint from his truck and paint the tops of the doors at no extra charge.
Description of Work: Prepared walls/ceiling, painted Master Bath walls and ceiling, and painted Family Room walls (2-story atrium-style room).

This is the second time we have used Avanti. We called Avanti to paint our condo we had just put on the market and scheduled painting for a week out. The listing agent called with people to view the property the next day. There were holes in the wall from the TV wall mount that looked horrible. John sent a crew out within 4 hours to patch and paint the wall before the showing. Great customer service.

Outstanding, they arrived on time everyday and did a fantastic job. They cleaned up after themselves and entire crew was very professional.
